Family & pet-friendly country house with spa - 5 min from the beach

We're a family of three, Johan (42), Josefina (39) and Elma (3) who live on Sodermalm in Stockholm. We have travelled a lot (especially before the arrival of Elma and the pandemic), one of our travel highlights was our honeymoon in 2018 where we travelled the east cost of USA and Canada. Johan was born and raised in Sundsvall in the northern part of Sweden and after his engineering studies at Linköping University he's been working with business development in all sorts of sectors for the last 15 years. He's got a sweet tooth and loves baking so that's his plan B if things don't work out at his regular job. Josefina comes from a small town outside of Västerås and is an antiques nerd/dealer who loves Scandinavian and European modern design from the 60's and 70's. She's nurturing a dream of one day becoming a script writer for movies. Elma is in kindergarten in the Old Town of Stockholm and enjoys making her parents crazy. She's quite a dancer, loves cleaning (for real) and is very stubborn.

We bought our dream country house in February 2021. We love being close to both the city and the forest and beach so this place gives us the best of both worlds. We have put a lot of love into turning this place into something that we will enjoy for the rest of our lives and Johan was so happy when the sauna was finally finished in the summer (!) of 2021. Josefina loves gardening so this place gives her the perfect opportunity to develop that passion. Elma turned 3 in the summer of 2022 and spends a lot of her time jumping on the trampoline, swimming at the kids' beach and picking blueberries in the forest just behind our house. We love animals and used to have dog until May 2022 so all pets our welcome of course! We welcome all travellers to this place and hope you'll like it as much as we do.

We love this place because it has a mix of everything. It's close to the city so very accessible. It's only 5 minutes to the beach, which is kids friendly and has a store for buying the essentials (like ice-cream). The property has both a garden area as well as forest so there's a lot of different places to hang out. The house was built in 1958 and has been renovated in 2019, just a year before we bought it. We immediately saw huge potential in turning the downstairs into a spa with a sauna and are very happy the plans came to fruition. In 2022 we did a second round of renovation and built four terraces to make the place come together better and we couldn't be more pleased with the result. It's so relaxing enjoying a morning coffee on the back porch and so nice being able to bask in the evening sun on the front porch. The street is very quiet and cars seldom drive by making it safe for everyone as well. The neighbourhood is mostly summer houses and only a few permanent residents. Excellent for taking a morning or evening run!
