Laid back on Snows Channel

The cabin is comfy, the decor is simple and colorful. The beach shoreline and dock are maintained well, and the view is lovely. It is a friendly and plesant place to stay.

-positives: clean, great location close to Les Cheneaux amenities and outings, access to nice beach with boats-negatives: a bit clunky of a booking experience with difficulty using VRBO, there is NO LOCK on the cabin door which is a bit concerning especially if you are traveling alone or with children, the listing is listed as a lake view property (this cabin is not but others on the property are), towels are BYO, checkin instructions weren’t sent in advance

The cottage in a lake area had no view in any direction of the lake. Secondly, it was rather hot/humid and there was no porch to sit outside on. It was noisy there when it was supposed to be quiet. It is a very worn out cottage but everything seems to work okay.

Kitschy cabin near Cedarville

The cabin is located within the Les Cheneaux Landing resort, a mile or two outside of Cedarville, on a quiet road with several other cabins very close by. It was rustic but clean with nice quality kitchen supplies (pots/ pans/ dishes) and bedding. Many items (stove, sink, heating system) were quite old but worked great, no problems. However, the mattresses in both bedrooms were also old and had practically no padding to cover the springs anymore. We were quite uncomfortable sleeping. Memory foam toppers would help immensely! The host was prompt and pleasant when we messaged with questions prior to our stay and personally greeted us and gave us a tour on arrival, but she did not reach out to provide us with any check-in instructions-- we had to message to get the address, did not know what time check-in was, and were only told upon arrival that renters were supposed to bring their own towels. Thankfully we had brought some! Perhaps this lack of communication was an oversight and others will not have this problem. Overall our stay was fine-- we enjoyed Cedarville, and the little cabin was sufficient to meet our needs.

Hi Laurie - Thank you for your review and we appreciate your feedback. We want to make sure all our guests are well informed and have a comfortable stay. I have made sure our address is more visible in the listing description and also the information regarding renters furnishing their own towels. If you had not brought your own towels, I would have provided towels for the weekend. The owners are planning to do some remodeling in the cabin this fall or prior to when we open again in the spring. I will pass along your comments. Hope you had an enjoyable visit to the area and with your relatives on Marquette Island. Thanks very much and we hope to see you again. Esther
