This 4 bedroom, 3 bath cottage has been completely renovated from the studs up. Designer bathrooms and finishes through. Includes a massive deck with table and seating for 8, fire pit, dock with patio, lounge chairs, private beach, hot tub and outdoor shower. Kayaks available for use. Rental license #0378020500

Prefect setting for relaxing family vaca!

This was our second time renting this property and we enjoyed our week there more so than the prior year! Didn’t think that was possible! This place has all the comforts of home making this place feel like our own while we were there! We love Spider Lake and thus far this place is our favorite!

What a wonderful experience!

This is the perfect place for a relaxing vacation. The home itself was perfect for our family of six--clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The view was serene and peaceful, and we thoroughly enjoyed jumping in the hot tub and sitting around the fire after a day on the lake in our rented pontoon. Greg, the host, was wonderful to work with and very responsive to our every need. My family and I loved every minute of our stay and look forward to returning!

Family Vacation

Home was perfect for our 5 adults/4 kids. It was clean and well stocked. Loved relaxing on the deck, kayaking, fishing, and having bonfires. Geese were a nuisance but owner was quick to remedy the problem. View was beautiful. Kids loved beach area. Would love to rent again.

Wonderful getaway at the lake!

We were looking for a lake house near the Center Ice Arena for our family plus my in laws. (My son attended hockey camp during the day.) This house was perfect! Plenty of space for everyone. All of the amenities you need- kitchen had plenty of plates, utensils, cups, etc. Bathrooms were nice and the towels were so nice! Beds were comfortable and the bedrooms have nice shades. Hot tub and fire pit were perfect. We rented a pontoon boat right around the corner and enjoyed a day on the water as well. The host was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We hope to be back next year!

Clean, well-stocked house on Spider Lake

Everything we could have possibly needed was in the house, both inside and outside. Modern clean bathrooms, very well stocked kitchen. Beautiful natural lake, great location. The listing could use more pictures (I had to assume there was a big dining table somewhere, and there is, but it’s not shown in any pictures) and an update to reflect the new bed arrangement. We stayed there with two families of 5, and it is tight for 10 - even though there are two air mattress, there is not much spare space to put them, though three bathrooms are great. But it still worked and we had a great time.

Fantastic house in a beautiful setting

The house was lovely. Love the large living room/dining area. Perfect for kids with lots of toys to play with. Beautiful lake. Would definitely recommend and hope to come again.

Couldn't have asked for anything better!

My 4 friends and I stayed at this wonderful home for a ladies weekend. It was absolutely perfect! Everything we needed was there, the views were stunning, house was clean, host was responsive to my silly questions regarding coffee and firewood, and we had a fantastic experience. Our only negative was we couldn't enjoy all of the outdoor areas and amenities due to the cold and rain. Therefore, we are already looking into coming back during warmer months! We plan to be repeat renters!

Lake front paradise

Nothing beats being up North in MI. The property is beautiful from top to bottom. Absolutely loved the stay and cannot wait to book this property again for a northern getaway with my family

Lovely lake home

We had an amazing time staying st this cute home on Spider Lake. We came to Traverse City for a horse show (a quick 15-20 min drive away) but enjoyed coming home to the lake. The home is completely remodeled and can easily sleep 8 (we only had four so had more than enough ;-). The lake view is spectacular and we enjoyed using the provided kayaks and standup paddle board. Nights were spent sitting around the fire pit roasting s’mores or cruising around the lake on a pontoon boat that we rented for our stay. We had a few minor issues but the owner was very quick to respond and very helpful. Check in and check out was super Easy. Our family looks forward to staying here again next year.

Nice property on quiet part of Spider

Very nice house that was perfect for a relaxing get away. Its on a quieter arm of Spider Lake with easy water access for paddle boarding, kayaking and to watch loons, muskrats and turtles. Would go again.

Newly remodelled house

Great house with living rooms and tvs on 1st and 2nd floor, dining tables inside and on the deck. Place has a dock and we rented a pontoon boat for a couple days and used the kayaks and paddle board a lot. The beach is kinda weedy so we used our floatation devises when swimming from shore.

A beautiful, clean lake house in a great location for our family vacation!

It was the perfect place for a summer vacation with our extended family. It's a clean, well-decorated, well-appointed home on a beautiful small lake. Plenty of room for 9 adults from 19 to 78 years old. I slept in one of the top bunks and it was roomy and comfortable enough for an average size adult. We needed to use one of the two air mattresses, which were nice, double thick, and self-inflating. My 19-year-old son had no complaints... he knows better :-) We had a couple of questions when we got there and Greg was good at answering questions reasonably quickly via vrbo messaging. The location was great for us. We visited Traverse City, Torch Lake, Fishtown, and Sleeping Bear Dunes, all less than an hour's drive. We relaxed around the fire pit, ate outside at the 8-person table on the deck, and had fun with the kayaks and paddle boards. We highly recommend it to anyone who wants a relaxing lake house in what feels like your own little corner of the world.

Perfect getaway at a Clean beautiful cottage!

We stayed over New Year's for a family trip! There were 11 of us (1 in a pack and play). We did have 2 kiddos on air mattresses which were provided. There was enough room for all of us! The home was very clean, had everything we needed, and had a great view. I would recommend 4 wheel drive in the winter for the driveway. You can tell the owners have put a ton of work in renovations and it really looks great!

Girls Weekend Getaway

Great location for our amazing girls weekend away. About 15 minutes or so from Traverse City, right on Spider Lake. Clean and comfortable home, well equipped kitchen. The driveway is a doozie and you might need further direction if you have more than one vehicle. Overall a great visit in this beautiful home!

Beautiful Lake house

It was so nice to walk into a clean house that was beautifully decorated. The view of the lake was gorgeous. The house just makes you feel relaxed. Greg is quick to respond to all messages. They do provide water toys. Also they have a great fire pit to sit and hang out. Inside we enjoyed the large table where we played games. We loved this place. We will definitely be back.

Dallas, TX and has been coming to the Traverse City area and Northern Michigan since Greg was a little boy. Greg’s dream was to create similar memories for his growing family and purchased Lake Affect from a long time owner in 2019.

Greg and the family have worked on every aspect of the house/property to make this a relaxing, fun spot on the lake for all to enjoy!
