My husband and I stayed here for 6 days in July. We had a blast! The location is within a very short walk to the Prattsville Diner, grocery store, hardware store, ice cream shop, liquor store, park, a creek, and hiking trails - all within Prattsville. If you drive about 15 minutes, you can get to Windham, which is a nice little town with a gas station and a lot of great restaurant choices. There are many hiking trails within a short drive as well. If you drive a little farther, about an hour or so, you could spend the day in fun upstate towns like New Paltz or Kingston, or the state capital, Albany.
The cabin itself is very neat and clean, and it has everything you need as far as bedding, kitchenware, towels, etc. My husband and I loved to have our morning coffee on the front porch, which has two chairs, and listen to the birds. It's a peaceful location. The bed is comfortable, although it was a bit small for us (we are both six feet tall!), but we got used to it. You can watch tv (about 20 channels) and there's a dvd player in the bedroom. We brought some dvds and watched movies at night. WiFi comes from the place next door and works best in the kitchen and on the front porch. It doesn't connect well from the bedroom, so if you need to use WiFi, you should plan to be in the kitchen or outside. I did not get any cell service there. I have SPRINT. I don't know about other phone carriers, but SPRINT does not have good service in Prattsville at all.
Overall this is a charming little cabin, and my husband and I recommend it for couples who just want to get away or do some hiking. I'm sure in the winter it's great for skiers too. Ella, the property owner, is very nice and easy to get in touch with. She will help you with anything you need. Five stars!
