Fully Renovated, Charming Craftsman Home in Downtown Paso Robles Wine Country

Welcome to the Heaton House, a historic craftsman home built in the 1920s by one of the original families who built Paso Robles. This house has been completely remodeled and upgraded with attention to character and detail. The property is one block from the city's quaint town square, where excellent restaurants, cafes, and tasting rooms are within walking distance. Dozens of the region's top wineries are a short 10-20 minute drive away.
The house features a classic front porch, from which you enter into a cozy living room with television and space to relax. You then pass through to a large dining room and open chef's kitchen with island, perfect for gathering friends and family on vacation. Guests can retreat to three comfortable bedrooms (2 king beds and 1 queen) and access one fully upgraded full bathroom (on main level) plus a second full bathroom located in downstairs basement level (which was remodeled in 2025). Beautiful oak floors extend throughout the home and tasteful furnishings appoint each room. A backyard includes a grill, patio table and seating, and space to relax.
This home and the neighborhood are child friendly. The house is one block from the city's main square, where you can stroll through the lawn and grove of trees, access a playground for children to enjoy, and happen upon the city's farmers market vendors.
Kids and families are welcome. The house is also stocked with toys and games for children to enjoy alone or with grown ups.
The Heaton House is located in the heart of Paso Robles, with dozens of shops, boutiques, and the city's best restaurants located within a few blocks and top wineries and destinations within a short drive, including:
- Best wineries on the central coast (10-20 minutes): Alta Colina, Booker, Brecon, Clos Solene, Denner, Halter Ranch, Justin, La Aventure, Law, McPrice Myers, Thatcher, and many more.
- Top Paso restaurants (5 minute walk, reservations recommended): Il Cortile (Italian), BL Brasserie (French), Somm's Kitchen (limited seating tasting menu), Fish Gaucho (seafood), Les Petites Canailles (French - Michelin Rated), Hatch Rotisserie (American - Michelin Rated).
- Casual Dining & Lunch (5 -10 minute walk): Red Scooter Deli, Thomas Hill Organics, Di Raimondo's, The Backyard, TASTE, Paso Market Walk, Jeffry's BBQ,

The house is in a very good location within walking distance to downtown. Kitchen is nicely appointed with dishes, pots and pans, etc. The backyard is very nicely landscaped and has several sitting areas.

We had a fantastic stay in Paso Robles! The house was in great condition and truly perfect for our visit. Everything was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. We especially appreciated how well equipped the home was…plenty of fresh towels, and the kitchen had everything we needed for the week. It made our stay easy and enjoyable. Beautiful original craftsman style home with all the modern conveniences. The Heaton House was spotless, and had all the conveniences we could ask for. You won’t find a better location to stay near the center of downtown Paso Robles. The aromas coming from the Buona Tavola restaurant right around the corner were an unexpected bonus. We would definitely stay at the Heaton House again. Thank you Thomas!

Great place and great location and overall very good stay. Only downside was the WiFi connection which was basically nonexistent and we had to use all the data from our phones to stream the tv. Now I have throttled data until my next phone billing cycle is up. Other than that inconvenience, really nice place.

The Heaton House was perfect for our long weekend getaway with friends and family. We had 6 adults in our group and it was perfect for us. Location was great- walkable to the town square. When we come back to Paso Robles, we hope to stay here again.

My family of four recently stayed at this lovely home for a family getaway. The house has so much charm and character. Perfect location in town. Walkable to all restaurants and bars. House itself is cute, really well done, and very well stocked. Had everything we needed. Communication was easy, and they gave us an early check-in time before I even asked. Highly recommended, and would definitely stay again.

Perfect Weekend to the Mid State Fair

This was a fantastic place to stay for our visit to the Mid State Fair. The free shuttle is .1 miles away from the property. It was close to wineries and Tin City. The house was perfect for 3 couples, with a well-stocked kitchen and comfy beds. We will stay here again next time we attend a concert at the fair.

Our stay was perfect…Location was EXCELLENT!!! House was absolutely charming & couldn’t have been any cleaner! Was just a short distance to wineries. Don’t miss Daou - views were incredible & as is their wine. Day 2 was Austin Hope which was also lovely!

Beautiful craftsman home, perfect for families.

Located in the middle of town one block from a community park that is surrounded by a fascinating array of restaurants and shops. Walk everywhere. We loved it!

We absolutely loved this home! It was the perfect place for us to stay to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from Cal Poly. It had everything we needed and was spacious and comfortable.
