Rosa de los Vientos (Compass Rose) Beach House is located in the “West End” Art District of Sand City. It is walking distance to colorful and vibrant mural public art on the exterior of businesses and warehouses. Our home is in a small neighborhood of beach style houses on the East side of the freeway. Please note that the nearby park is pending to re-open late winter.
Small town, big city, ocean views, quiet yet bustling all in one. Adventure!

Two Graco Pak-n-Play’s. Each has a comfy mattress (crib sheets and baby blankets. Baby Trend Pak-n-Play with rocking bassinet also available. Jogging stroller, 6-in-1 blossom high chair, beach sand toys, little tikes toddler tricycle, stage 2 rocking horse, little people music parade ride on.

Complimentary: coffee, hot chocolate, tea, cream, sweeteners, welcome basket with local treats.

What's nearby:
You'll be right across the highway from the beach. While you're out, enjoy great food at some of the fantastic local restaurants, and don’t forget to take a look at the West End Mural Art that is within walking distance of the home. Dennis the Menace Playground, Old Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, and the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium are less than 4 miles west as well, with Carmel-by-the Sea just 6 miles southwest.

Wonderful property for the Monterey area

My entire family loved staying at this property. The view was beautiful, and it was a short drive to all the places that we needed to go. The house was extremely clean and well decorated, with all the amenities that we needed. The neighborhood was also very quiet.

Wonderful Anniversary Getaway!

We had a lovely stay at this very beautiful home! Meli is a great host! Easy to communicate with and she very thoughtfully pulled out all the stops to make our anniversary special! Second time at this a property. Meli is an incredible host.

Great place to stay

We loved our stay at meli's place! It was honestly the best VRBO I have ever been to and we have rented quite a few. Meli put so much effort in making her guests feel welcomed from the amazing communication to the gift basket and even toys/play area in the garage! It was awesome! Monterey Historics stay for 10 days.

We had a fantastic stay at this location. Home is well organized and well thought out. The host is wonderful and even had goodies waiting for us upon arrival. Cleaning service went above and beyond. View was wonderful. Location was perfect as it was close to the race track and lots of eating options nearby. I will be aiming to stay here again next year when we race Laguna Seca. Exceptional!!!

Great for a group trip

The house was perfect and filled with all the amenities you'd need or want from a vacation rental. The host was very responsive and friendly, with a smooth check-in and check-out process. We even got an early check-in and late check-out for no extra cost. The only downside is the neighborhood is weirdly industrial and the beach is actually on the other side of a highway. But we still managed to find our way on foot.

Excellent house clean and comfy!!!!!!

My adult children and grandkids enjoyed our stay! Meli thought of everything a guest could need including toys for the kids! We enjoyed the fire pit on the balcony while we saw the beautiful sunset! The house had a nice layout. The bedrooms were cozy! She even has beach gear we could have used, but our stay was too short this time to enjoy them but we do plan on returning maybe later this year or next summer. Thank you Meli you are the best!

Lovely vacation

We stayed at what my kids call the blue house. We had an amazing stay where everything was just perfect. It looks like Meli the host knew exactly what my kids would enjoy and had toys tailored just for them. The views from the house was phenomenal. We got to downtown Monterey in 10 mins for all our planned activities and came back to the house for a good relaxing evening. Communication with the host was great and were on top of everything. They even accommodated late checkout was really sweet of them. We had a wonderful weekend at Sand City. Thank you once again.

Feels like home with 5 star luxeries

Meli is an incredible host. From setting up the listing to check in to our final day, she was by our side making sure everything was perfect. The property itself has a beautiful view, is exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated and super comfortable. Waking up to the view of the ocean and watching the sunsets from the balcony was one of our favorite things. The listing itself is very accurate. The place was well stocked with thoughtful curated treats and all the basic necessities you’d need to feel at home including coffee, spices for cooking, dish washer and clothing detergent, soap and conditioner for showers and the most softest towels ever. Thank you Meli for such a wonderful stay. Worth every penny! We will definitely stay here again!

Well designed spacious house!

Hey, you! Yeah, you!! So, you’re the person who’s making a booking for perhaps a group of people. I have 2 suggestions to you: 1) def get this property. It’s perfect. 2) make sure you snag the upstairs bedroom. You deserve it for taking your group to a great time! The upstairs bidet situation is *chefs kiss*. Very communicative property manager. Lots of interesting snacks. Beautiful views of the ocean.

Christmas Getaway

This property was fantastic. Meli was a wonderful host who kept in contact every step of the way and was very responsive. The property has a beautiful view of Monterey and is in a centralized location that is is not far from downtown. The upstairs living room is nice spacious and was able to accommodate our Christmas Dinner with all the supplies and amenities needed to prepare our meal. The master bedroom is beautiful and the bathroom was large with unique amenities like photo therapy! The toilet was also a very high end toilet with an electronic bidet. Very luxurious. The downstairs has 2 spacious rooms and a bathroom with high ceilings. My niece and nephew enjoyed their room and I was able to sleep comfortably in the 1st floor bedroom. The property has plenty of dishes sheets pillows and centralized heating to make everyone comfortable. This was the perfect place for our vacation. Meli also noticed us of a few items we left behind and gave my family an opportunity to coordinate a delivery. Excellent host and property would definitely recommend to other renters.

EVERYTHING was great! Our host, their attention to detail, the location, everything! The space worked out great as did having multiple bathrooms for us and the kids. We were a little anxious about having the kids on the lower level near the first floor doors and us on the second floor but seeing the police station 50' away helped ease our concerns quite a bit. We easily got around Monterey and had no issues coming and going from the house each day. We'd stay there again if we went back!

Es war alles sehr gut beschrieben, sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Leider befindet sich der Highway recht nahe.

Public service has been our career path. Kirk retired as a Chief Petty Officer after over 20 years in the Navy and now works for Behavioral Health. With more than 24 years of experience, Meli continues to work in the field of Social Work focusing on children and families.

Kirk enjoys making things go fast! RC boats, heli's and cars. He dreams of owning his Porsche 911 Carrera. Meli has an eye for art: oil painting, water color, metal work, upcycling, jewelry, architecture, public art murals.

We love to travel and appreciate nature, wildlife and have always been drawn to the sea. Rosa de los Vientos Beach House has been our little suenito that was realized in April 2021. A happy place of inspiration, reconnecting and pure holiday. May your stay be filled with blessings!

Rosa de los Vientos Beach House has been a place of inspiration, peace and celebration.
She seems to have chosen us and we want to share her with other families. During the pandemic we learned that gathering with family and friends is even more precious. The home has been a great place for special moments.

The home has easy access to everything along the Central Coast (Fisherman's Wharf, Cannery Row, Lover's Point Park, Pebble Beach, Carmel-by-the Sea, Weather Tech Raceway). It is also close to shopping which is very convenient as time is not wasted picking up necessities so that more time can be spent with those closest to you.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Rosa de los Vientos has amazing views of Monterey Bay, city lights and sunsets. The house is close to the Public Mural Art District in Sand City's West End which lends the home to being a place of adventure. There is also a small park with swings and a teeter totter directly across from the house which makes it appealing for families with small children. A paknplay, 6-in-1 highchair/booster and jogging stroller are available for guest use.
