Visit Old Florida and Come Fish the Best Bass Lake in the Region!

We are currently offering a 20 percent discount due to Hurricane Ian. Some of our pictures are older and show our lovely back patio that is no longer there, hence the discount. There is still plenty of seating for relaxing and taking in all our lake has to offer on the back concrete deck. So come visit the Noodle House, as it is known by the locals due to its macaroni shape. This unique semi-circle shape allows spectacular views from every room in the house and is an old cracker style cottage with all the amenities of home. We have a beautiful private dock and boathouse that is covered along with an observation deck that goes out into the water. Plenty of beach frontage for the kiddies to play and a large outdoor open patio with plenty of seating. There is also a fire pit located down by the beach for those cozy nights and clear skies. The grilling area is just to the right of the back patio and offers both a new gas grill. Plenty of parking on the double driveway out front which is over 100 feet long for guests and toys. The cottage is just a few houses down from the boat ramp to put your boat in, if you desire, with multiple tie ins in and around our dock.

The cottage is centrally located to many of Florida's attractions and theme parks, not to mention our lovely little town which is less then 5 minutes away. Come visit Lake Placid and take in beautiful "Old Florida" with it's quaint downtown area and antique/thrift shops.

Cute house and dock

The property is generally an older style but very cute and clean. Unfortunately last fall, Hurricane Ian blew off the large, back screened in porch which we really missed but they are working to get it replaced. The property had plenty of towels, sheets, blankets for a couple of extra guests we had. We had an issue with one a/c unit but the tech came out on Saturday and once he made the repair, it was fine but doesn't go below 75. The only recommendation I'd make is maybe a full set of steak knives and some extra forks. Maybe also a shade on the back door itself as it gets a lot of sun without the porch. We ended up hanging a towel on it which helped. Overall a fun house to stay at and has a wonderful yard. We'll stay here again!

Loved the lake house

A perfect location for family to meet us. My husband can’t stop talking about waking up to the sunrise. The house really grew on us we were sad to leave. Nancy was easy to communicate with and very nice.

Wish we were here longer

We had the best time staying here when coming to the area for a Spartan Race. We absolutely loved this little gem. It was so peaceful. They had everything we could ever need. Including sand toys for our kiddo. We enjoyed fishing right off the dock with the help of a local bait shop. The host was very communicative and hospitable in the best way. We highly recommend this spot to others. We would love to come back in the future.

This property was awesome! From the moment you walk in the door you feel right at home. Kitchen has everything you need. Coffee on the porch in the morning, and happy hour out on the dock in the evening. We will definitely rent again.

Fun Family getaway

This is a great, `down to earth' place to stay with the family . We stayed here, over the Christmas holiday, for 7 nights with our family of 6 children . The sleeping arrangement worked out great too . The lake and dock part of it provided a lovely place to hang out, enjoy the warm sunshine or like some of the children liked to do .... push each other in the lake:) the lake does not get deep fast so thats nice for children playing . The children also had fun on the big concrete driveway with roller blades and a hoverboard.

So relaxing!

We had a great vacation! Nice, quiet and relaxing, with a beautiful view! Exactly what we wanted! Great communication with our host, and everything was clean and comfortable! We particularly loved the long dock, the fire pit, the huge patio, and that we had the amazing view from inside the house as well as the patio!

Nice but needs fixes

This older home, with unique architecture, is a well kempt house with updated appliances and plumbing fixtures. The house was clean, except for the thick dust on ceiling fan blades. The large screened patio was delightful, with a nicely furnished sitting area and a nice dining area. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a nice selection of toiletries in the master bathroom. The views from the large living room windows and patio were great. A very relaxing atmosphere. There are a few downsides to this property. The biggest issue is flying insects. When we pulled in the driveway and opened the car doors, we were surrounded by flying insects, which also flew into the car. As we approached the front door, the swarm of hundreds of insects was worse than the driveway. Fortunately, these insects did not bite or sting. Our goal was to spend lots of time on the dock, but the flying insects in the backyard were awful. These insects covered the patio screen and screen door. Upon opening the door, the bugs started flying all over us. These insects apparently live in the grass, as with each step we took to go to the dock, hundreds of these bugs were flying all over us. After one trip to the dock and back, we were done using the dock. We did go to the store to buy outdoor flying insect spray, which worked well to clear the bugs away from the front door, our car, and off the patio screens. Unfortunately, the effect did not last, and we made another trip to buy 2 more cans of insect spray which required daily use to minimize the insect problem. Each morning we had to sweep away thousands of dead bugs from the front porch area. The other main issue we had was with the living furniture. The cushions of the sofa sat on a sheet of plywood. If the support structure is that bad, it’s time for a new couch. Also, the backside of the love seat had a spring sticking out of the fabric. Both pieces of furniture looked to be very old. We also specifically asked about the use of scented laundry detergent and were told they use unscented products. The sheets and towels were scented and the laundry detergent in the laundry room was scented. We rewashed the linens using our own unscented detergent. This new listing has the potential to be a great rental. Have an exterminator spray the yard for the pesky insects, replace the living room furniture, and do a little touch up painting. This property would then be worth the money being charged.

Perfect Getaway Vacation

The Vacation rental. Was perfect!! Lake house was more than what we expected. We were amazed how nice everything was upon our arrival. Beautiful views on the lake from the house. Very spacious house. Very convenient location to shopping. Very relaxing weekend. Lake was not congested not on bit. Was able to enjoy the boat that we rented while we stayed. Nancy answered all our questions and she was the best hostess. I will be staying the again. When we get a chance. Can’t wait to go back.
