Our Cabin is the perfect location whether you chose to spend a week or a long weekend with friends and family in this updated cabin in the woods.
Camp Louise is tucked away in the quiet, serene forest of Northern Michigan. With a private lake only a ten-minute walk away, ORV trails just around the corner, four different ski resorts within 30 minutes (Schuss Mountain/Shanty creek, Boyne Mountain, Treetop Sylvan, The Otsego Club), and multiple golf courses nearby (one just 6 minutes away), Camp Louise is the absolute ideal location for a perfect vacation.

If outdoor sports aren't your fancy, cheers to you: you're only 30 minutes away from multiple breweries, distillers, and vineyards, and roughly 45 minutes to Traverse City. On top of all that, Camp Louise is only 40 minutes to beautiful Lake Michigan. Come relax and enjoy the sights and serenity that only Northern Michigan can provide!

The property has been renovated with the comfort of guests in mind. Throughout the process, our goal was to make this cabin in the woods feel like a home away from home: where friends could come and relax for a few days or a few weeks. Brand-new, comfortable furniture with plenty of seating allows for everyone to gather around to eat a great meal, play games, or warm up by the outdoor fire ring. The open-concept kitchen and island make it easy to prepare meals while laughing with the group or keeping your eye on the game.

If the weather has you down during your stay, the nearby clubhouse has plenty of things to keep you occupied: An indoor swimming pool and water slide, hot tub, lazy river, game room, and cozy fireplace!

This property gives you all the benefits of being remote and secluded, while still close to plenty of creature comforts. A ten-minute walk to the lake, a six-minute drive to golf, a restaurant/bar run by some of the friendliest people around, and only twenty minutes to a town that has everything you'll need. The property was very clean and well maintained. My family and I stayed here for my niece's wedding, we had a great time. The owner is communicative and the house had everything that we could had needed or wanted. Thank you Kent for making it a great family visit. We even got glimpses of the leaves changing colors.

Beautiful cabin in lovely area! Plenty of parking, was able to take kayaks to pencil lake and enjoy some fishing too! Kitchen equipped with everything needed for a great meal.Lots of games and seating to play cards all night! Air conditioning was good after a long day outdoors. Would recommend highly for families looking for great location to hit Gaylord, Boyne City & Boyne Falls. Thanks Kent!

Clean and comfortable

This property was exactly as described. It had everything we needed and then some for a great stay! Communication with owner was excellent. We enjoyed sitting around the fire making s’mores with the fixings provided by owner. They even provided lots of firewood. We definitely recommend this place.

Perfect getaway

Highly recommend a stay at Camp Louise. The home was perfect for our family of 7. It was well equipped with plenty of dishes, towels and basic cooking ingredients but also included a kayak and pickle ball kit for outdoor play. Clubhouse with indoor pool is great however it does have an additional fee. Both lakes are quiet and pretty small but have nice beach and swim areas. Communication with the owner has been excellent. We were very pleased with our stay!

Family Vacation

The house and property are even more beautiful in person! Very homey! Had everything we needed. The first family vacation we’ve had in years, first one with our kids being adults and having our grandson with us. We got to cook over the campfire, go for walks, went fishing, and swimming. The deck was perfect for relaxing on. We all loved this place!

Family Vacation

We went to Gaylord, Michigan for our grandsons graduation. I found this beautiful home on VRBO and made our reservation. It was perfect for our family. The home owner was very pleasant and attentive at all times when needed. The home had everything we needed.

Christmas Getaway

Spent 5 silent nights in this wonderful cabin. The location felt secluded but close enough to Gaylord to shop and eat out occasionally. The hosts were accommodating and we felt right at home. We would love to come back again!

Great Host

There were some technical difficulties during our stay. The host, Kent, did absolutely everything he could to fix it and make it right. He went above and beyond considering the issue wasn't something he could predict or control. The house is in a location that will give you the essential "up north" vibes. In a wooded area that felt very private. Very relaxing. We stayed for a golf trip. There was plenty of room to spread out and there are a number of good golf courses in the area. Bellaire and Gaylord are short drives away if you need some entertainment or dining options. We will definitely be staying here again.

Fabulous summer stay

We enjoyed our week with our children and grandchildren. Centrally located for day trips to Mackinaw, Petoskey and Gaylord. Beautiful area and very accommodating host. We will definitely be back!

Quiet, in the woods!

We found Camp Louise to be a fantastic place for us. Little more than an hour drive to the Mackinac bridge and Boyne was even closer. Gaylord is maybe 15 minutes away and had anything we needed including decent restaurants. We also cooked at home and our kitchen was set up very well for that. Pencil lake was beautiful and clean. We had a wonderful stay here!

I hate to sound like a broken record here, but :
Location, Location, Location.
When we purchased Camp Louise, our goal was to give our guests the benefits of being secluded in the woods, yet steps away from a spring-fed, sandy-bottom clear lake as well as miles upon miles of ORV trails. Once we found this property, we knew it checked every box. Throughout it's renovation process, our goal was to make this cabin as comfortable and easy to spend as much or as little time in as our guests would want. That meant ensuring brand-new comfortable furniture with plenty of seating both in the living area, and the dining table. We ensured the kitchen and island made it easy to prepare meals and interact with the rest of your family or friends staying with you, and even be able to keep an eye on the game at the same time. Now we've added a new three-season room and 12x16 deck for enjoying those quite morning coffee's and evening drinks as well.

At the end of the day, the guest reviews don't lie: We aim to deliver an amazing stay for each and every one of our guests, and we have a perfect review to show for it.
