lovely house and location

I had 8 friends visiting Durango. This house was perfect for us. They were happy to share rooms. The property is off the beaten path in a beautiful wooded spot near the river. Lakes and hikes nearby. The town of Durango is 20-25 minutes away so they had access to town and a retreat to come home to at night. Kitchen fully stocked, beds comfortable. property managers were responsive and helpful. Thank you

Woodsy Retreat

A beautiful cabin home set between a charming creek and a stunning river. Treasure Island was a bonus! The home was spacious and comfortable inside and out. Clean, organized and stocked. Big windows in the master allowed for fresh air at night and the beauty of the woods during the day. The kids loved playing outdoors! The only item I would suggest is an extra seating option in the living room. Otherwise everything was perfect!

Durango, CO rental

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were disappointed with the interior. While nice size rooms, kitchen very disorganized hard to find items and get to them. One fry pan looked gross, should be thrown out. Ice tray in freezer had a bug and leaf(?) on it.Weeds in front yard should have been cut down, made it impossible to play in that area and I’m not talking about wildflowers. There was a nice assortment of games. Would have been nice to have directions for TV.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Your feedback is important to us. Thank you for bringing our attention to the kitchen items, we will perform a kitchen inventory and replace any pots or pans as needed. This is a mountainous home, so the yards are not manicured but we will have our maintenance technician cut any unruly weeds out front to help keep them at bay. The TV is a smart TV where guests can log in to any of their streaming apps. However, if you ever have any issues operating it, please give us a call and we are always happy to help! It was a pleasure to host you and we hope you come stay with VRC again soon!

The home was just ok. The cleaner and company that does the rental service were clearly good. It’s the home that isn’t well taken care for. From the broken screen door, the peeling plumbing fixtures, to the lack of cups and disorganized kitchen that lacked thought, I think they could really put some thought into the quality of the guests stay. The living room is quite small, but the one (stained) sofa isn’t enough seating. Could use a couple small chairs. The main issue I had was the lack of care to the outside of the home. The lack of secure steps from the back porch and the weed “landscaping” was sort of the entire vibe of this home. When paying for a vacation rental these are the types of things that owners should think about. Another note is that the fishing island trail is truly off the front of the home, not the back like the listing said so that took us a while to figure out. The back porch has dirty weathered chairs with direct views of the neighbors porch. So you won’t feel privacy if they’re home.

Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you found our cleaning team and rental service responsive and reliable. We sincerely apologize that the home did not meet your expectations in terms of maintenance, seating, kitchen organization, and outdoor areas. Your comments are very helpful, and we will be reviewing each point to improve the quality of the guest experience, including the listing details about the fishing trail and privacy concerns. We appreciate your insights and hope to provide a better experience for future guests.

Good overall

First impression upon arrival… The weeds in the yard were over a foot tall. Makes you wonder when you drive up if that’s how the entire property is taken care of. However, the cabin itself was maintained fairly well. We had seen in prior reviews that there was animal fur inside the house… We found this was true. There was gray tufts of animal hair – looks like probably a cat – scattered around the house, on the carpet in several places. Also, when you pay $6000 for a property you would expect it to be spotless… Anytime we moved something it was pretty dirty underneath; the laundry room and pantry floors were dirty. Additionally, out of eight days I probably had a hot shower only three of the days. Hot water heater is not big enough for eight people. However, overall, we enjoyed our stay and the house met our needs. The setting was nice.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback. We're very glad to hear you had a great stay. Your comments on the cleanliness of the home upon your arrival are concerning and I completely agree that it should be nothing less than spotless especially for the amount you spent on the reservation. This is not consistent at all with our normal standard and we have brought it to the attention of our housekeeping team. We apologize for these missed items. We have also suggested a larger hot water heater to the homeowners since as of right now 8 people taking showers consecutively will make it run out quickly. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Other than that, we're really glad you had an enjoyable stay. It was a pleasure to host you and we hope you come stay with VRC again soon!

Lovely place to stay for the eight of us. It was good to have a bedroom on the main floor with 2 twins as my 83 year old mother needs a main floor level. The place was very clean with comfortable beds and good showers which is what I look for to be happy with a place. We loved the deck in the afternoon with the sound of the nearby creek. We do recommend bring your own coffee as just one package was provided. No tea kettle, but able to rig it up with pots and pans as well as the strainer to make tea.Great place to stay while exploring the Durango area.

Christmas in Durango

House worked well for our group - need more wine glasses- not far from town nestled in the woods - kids loved walking through the snow. Road and driveway plowed in a timely manner. Would be great in the summer when the creek would be flowing. Had a plumbing issue on last day that was promptly attended to.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Having been a property owner near this property it wasvery nostalgic for me. It was near Vallecito Res.forboaters but this year it was very low, as this is notunusual for time of year and drought conditionsall over. As per Creekside it was wonderful andvery comfortable. Fully equipt with more than Iwould have expected. While it is a little outfrom Durango it is only 20 min. to the trainstation. The colors were just starting to changeso that was a bonus. Would highly recommend this property for anyone who is visiting the area andwants to be away from city life. Plan your groceryshopping. Bayfield is a little more distant thanDurango so that's where we got most of our supplies.

Family Creek House

Great property and neighborhood with a creek in the backyard. Kids 5 & 7 loved playing in the creek, putting boats down it, and enjoying exploring it. The island is a 1 minute walk away with more to explore including fly fishing of Florida River for the dads 👍. The house was perfect for families with plenty of board games , toys , and Xbox360 to entertain all ages. Beautiful home among the trees with all amenities. Comfortable beds. Very clean. 100% would return with the family.

Tucked away

We loved our stay at Creekside Retreat! The sound of the stream/river was so peaceful and relaxing. The house was just as pictured. The furniture was comfortable. The master bed is a little too soft but everyone has different preferences. My kids and mother in law all slept well in their separate bedrooms. The house was stocked with plenty of garbage bags, toilet paper and paper towels. We loved our daily walks to treasure island and around the neighborhood. We loved the distance from Durango because it helped us feel like we were in a quiet tucked away neighborhood. Thank you for letting us stay in your home!
