Welcome to "Grandma's Elephant Hideaway," a hidden gem in South Okanagan and Penticton BC! This spacious three-bedroom open-concept condo is just two blocks away from the stunning Okanagan Lake beach and parks, making it the perfect destination for families or small groups up to 6 (including children) who are looking to explore the local wineries, breweries, and all the exciting activities that Penticton has to offer. Come as guests and leave as friends.

With a prime location just minutes away from restaurants, shops, and a variety of activities, you'll never run out of things to do. The event center, gym, hockey rink, library, pool, and casino are all within a 5-minute walk! Whether you're attending a convention, concert, or just soaking up the sun on the beautiful beaches, this is the perfect spot for your getaway.

Relax in our luxurious bedrooms - one king room and two queen rooms - and enjoy the high-end hotel-quality beds and high-speed Wi-Fi. Our guests love our well-equipped kitchen, complete with everything you need, including an air fryer, and a complimentary laundry room. We also offer those extra features for remote workers, like a printer, extra screen, keyboard, desk and a high-quality office chair.

Enjoy the east-facing sun deck in the morning and covered shade BBQs in the afternoons. A private parking garage makes it easy to store your vehicle, bicycles, or sports equipment.

We believe your vacation is about relaxation and fun, so we have made it easy for you. Just load the dishwasher and take out the garbage before you leave, and we'll handle the rest. This fully-contained condo is our secondary suite (we live mainly in our main condo in the complex). We use this secondary suite to accommodate visiting family (we have a large family) and friends. When we or they are not using it, all personal belongings are removed or stored away, giving you a great feel of a home away from home. The only thing we do not remove is our demonstration of our love for elephants - go ahead and count them if you can.

Amazing place

Literally the best place I've ever stayed, had a great welcoming gift of fresh baked cookies, and a very cool interactive screen to help figure out things to do in the town. Decorated very cute as well!

Grandma Elephant Hideaway

My friends and I were very happy with our stay at the Grandmas Elephant Hideaway property. It was very clean, spacious, and great location to restaurants and lake. The checkin process was easy and the hosts made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. We’ve already booked for next year!

The Home we look forward to

A real pleasure to stay here once again. The place has all we need and moreso. We will return if possible, for our yearly x-country ski junket. We always look forward to this leg of our trip. Hospitality at its best!

From the time I booked to the end of our stay, every attention to detail was paid, down to the birthday cupcakes! The apartment is furnished with quality and style. A short walk to the waterfront and beautiful Main Street meant we were never far from the fun, can’t wait to return!

Long Weekend Cycling Trip

Enjoyed staying at this VRBO while travelling to Penticton for a cycling vacation with the guys. Accommodations were clean and spacious with a very well equipped kitchen. We appreciated the secure private garage for storing our precious bicycles safely!

Did not disappoint

Lovely place to call home for 3 days. Great location and walking distance to shopping, beach, and restaurants. Comfortable beds, A/C, and bedding made for a good nights sleep. Well stocked kitchen and BBQ. Covered deck was a bonus. Would rent again.

Superb house

Everything was perfect, incredibly clean. And fantastic amenities from toiletries to snacks. Including phone/computer charging cables in the bedroom! Everything was so well thought out.

A Great Experience

We have used VRBO's on many occasions. This was by fair the best experience we have had. Dale & Debbie have thought of everything you need to be comfortable. It really felt like home during our stay. We played some golf and attended the Peach City Beach Cruise. A great time, we will be back.

Property was immaculate, and the owners lived one floor below our rental. Debbie and Dale chatted with us both in person and via texts asking us if we needed anything, or to answer any questions that we had about the area. Overall experience was not only great…it was exceptional!!!

Great place to call home base

Dale and Debbie are the definitions of super hosts. Upon arrival, we were surprised with a thoughtful welcome basket and a bottle of wine. The place was clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our time there including cooking utensils, comfortable seating, toiletries, etc. Debbie and Dale went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. They have a great home and manage this unit effectively. We will definitely be returning next time we come to town!

Very lovely, cozy and welcoming. I love the decor and all the supplies we're provided with. The owners are such lovely people and I'm glad I got to stay here; easily the best place I've ever stayed in on a business trip. Great place, great location, amazing hosts

This was our second time staying at Grandma’s Elephant Hideaway, and it was just as good as the first time. Dale and Debbie are over the top in the host department. One of our group has a lot of allergies, and they made sure that the room she was staying in was completely scent free. Everything is spotless, the beds are comfortable, kitchen is incredibly well stocked, and if we need anything or have questions, the responses are timely. Just be aware that there is one fairly long set of stairs, and no elevator. We have already booked for next year!

Perfect!

Property was lovely, location perfect, amenities amazing and hosts could not have been nicer! Our party of 5 (grandparents, parents and 2 year old grandson) had everything we needed. Condo had high chair, playpen, toys, books, stuffies, toddler dishes and cutlery, wagon….perfect for families with little ones who are flying into town and limited as to how much equipment they can bring! All kinds of little extra’s including cookies and other treats to welcome us. We will definitely be back!

Perfect hideaway!

We loved our two week stay at Grandma’s Elephant Hideaway! Location was perfect - very close to the beach, restaurants, amenities. The building was quiet and neighbors were friendly. The unit was very clean and comfortable. Everything we needed was neatly placed for easy access. A small but appreciated touch was the abundance of USB Outlets for keeping all of our devices charged. The elephant theme was fun. We even counted them (101) and voted on our favorite. The size was perfect for our group (2 couples, 1 single). We would definitely book this spot again!

Woo-hoo! Debbie and Dale here, and we're beyond thrilled to welcome you to Grandma's Elephant Hideaway! Grandma had a love for elephants and inspired us to create this cozy hideaway in her honor. Plus, with every stay, you're supporting elephant sanctuaries as we donate a portion of the profits every year.

We're both avid travelers, who love visiting our kids and grandkids. When you're not cozied up at the hideaway, you might find us at a nearby winery or brewery. We promise to make your stay extra special, with warm welcome cookies, and more - maybe we'll even roast the coffee ourselves! And if there's anything you need or want to make your stay even better, just let us know.

Dale is a real world-traveler, volunteering to help communities in need, and has spent countless nights in hotel rooms. That's why we created the perfect hideaway - with all the things we love about staying somewhere and none of the things we don't. And while we love to give guests their space, we're always here if you need us. Just message us through the platform or give us a call - we'll be there to help in a jiffy.

We were looking forward to a change and came across this Condo and immediately fell in love with it. We have always loved the Okanagan and Penticton was a favourite.

The perfect workcation location. We are remote workers and frequent business travellers. We know comfort is important, but also is a quiet location to complete important work where you can have a virtual meeting, print that important document, or have an extra screen to work on, all while sitting in comfort on a comfortable desk chair. We offer a nice desk, a high-end desk chair, a webcam, keyboard, mouse, and a mix of office supplies. Want to move the set-up to another location, like the couch, the kitchen table, or the island? Go right ahead – flexibility is what remote working is all about.
