The perfect getaway!

If you want some rest, relaxation, peace and quiet, this is the perfect place. We had a great weekend! We enjoyed the town of Elkin and all of the people were so kind.This house is beautiful and the game room was a plus!

This home is beautiful and comfortable, plenty of room for family or friends. Wonderful game room, great trails to walk on. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect!

Great place for family and friends getaway weekend. We attended a wedding that was 30miles from the house. My youngest enjoyed the fishing pond! The whole family enjoy the game room. The house everything we needed. This is on our place to stay again.

Wedding weekend.

Our son was married at a winery nearby and our family stayed here as our base camp. Oh my. Everything was wonderful. All en-suite was so great. The property is stunning. I cannot say enough about it. Magical weekend.

Great home

Home is as advertised and the owner was easy to work with. Group of 4 couples enjoyed the game room and fire pit. Loved the bedroom/bathroom setup. Will definitely return.

Wedding weekend

We were in town from Florida for our son’s wedding in Dobson. This property is absolutely beautiful!! The views are amazing. Very clean & welcoming!! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to enjoy all it had to offer since we were so busy with the wedding, but loved our stay!! We hope to be able to come back one day to enjoy it more!! Wonderful memories!!

A Lovely Place for a Family to Gather

A beautiful and serene place for a family to gather and enjoy time together. The property is just as pictured. The kitchen is big enough for family members to mingle, cook, eat, laugh and even dance together. The living room is spacious and allows everyone a place to sit. The porches are a great place to enjoy morning coffee or a late afternoon sip. Our host, Cameron, is great to respond to questions. Thank you for sharing your lovely property with us.

Annual Ladies Weekend

The estate was absolutely stunning and a perfect location/set up for our annual ladies weekend! The house was the best stocked rental we've ever stayed in which was great. We made great use of the garage area for entertainment and the large fire pit in the back. Door locks were very not user friendly but communication from the owner in response to our struggles was timely. The location of the house was perfect. Close to the town of Elkin, wineries, and horseback riding. We received a documented list of local activities prior to arrival which was very helpful in planning. Overall we had a wonderful time and would definitely book again and have recommended it to other family and friends.

Made my wedding weekend amazing

The home was absolutely beautiful and made my wedding weekend with my bridal party and closest friends/family the most memorable time in our lives. The weather was amazing and the fall colors were absolutely gorgeous. We were able to enjoy our time together here before my wedding in this amazingly gorgeous home with laughter and friendship. It was the perfect setting for our group, there was plenty of rooms and bathrooms for everyone, the home was very clean and aesthetically gorgeous. Cameron made instructions very easy and left us to enjoy our time but we also knew he was easy to contact if we had any issues. We cannot wait to come back here together for another friend reunion in the future. So grateful for this home and property for making my wedding weekend with my best friends extra magical.

Great property but disappointed

This is a beautiful property with lots of land and beautiful outside areas. Unfortunately, there was an ant infestation and not just a few ants. Even after continuously spraying by my husband, there were still hundreds of ants in the main bath and hallway area during our entire stay. They seemed to be entering through the vents. They were even on the bathroom vanity,etc. My husband sprayed and still needed to vacuum up dead ants from the carpet each night. Each morning there were also tons of ants in the kitchen sink and counters which seemed to be coming up from the drain. Our friends who stayed in the in law suite also had an ant issue. The house was also not very clean. When we arrived, the kitchen sink was dirty and a dirty sponge was in the sink. The counters were filthy and the floors and carpets had stuff on them and were in need of a good vacuum. For the 230 cleaning fee we expected clean counters, a clean kitchen sink and vacuumed floors. When stripping the bed there was dog hair and a urine stain on the mattress pad. The property has so much potential if it was kept up.

What a great house!

This is the second time that I’ve stayed at this beautiful home. I said this last time but it belongs in a magazine (actually, it has been in a magazine). Cameron was very attentive to any questions that we had. He even made a special trip over to help us get our ballgame on the tv. I will stay here over and over again. I highly recommend the house and Jones Von Drehle winery!

State Road-August 2022 Family Vacation

My family was looking for a mountain getaway in North Carolina that was less than 8 hours away from our Virginia homes. We were very enticed by how pretty the State Road Property is on the VRBO site and how the property encompasses around 100 acres that includes a pond and streams. We were so happy to find that the photos are accurate, the house and property are lovely, private, and offer an abundance of fun trails to explore. We also loved the proximity to Stone Mountain, Pilot Mountain, as well as Mount Airy. Wonderful spot for all ages!

Picture perfect house and location

House was exquisite. Layout and amenities were perfect. We played games in the garage, fished in the pond. And used the workout equipment. Wineries galore from great ones right down the street to top notch at Dynamis. Caught lots of bass on plastic worms and a few bream. The entire week was outstanding and we have a new “home base” for wineries in the future.

Perfect Time

The house is incredible. Very clean, updated furnishings, and plenty of things to do on the property. Man-Cave with pinball, golf, pool table, corn hole, darts, and more. Plenty to do when it rains and it did several times during our stay. Walking trails and a fire pit are great outdoor activities. The house, rooms, and grounds are exactly as pictured.
