Beautiful location for a quiet getaway. The photos on VRBO don’t do it justice, it’s so quaint and cozy. The beds are comfy, the house was clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed. William was a friendly and communicative host and the check-in and checkout were dead simple.10/10, we would definitely come back.

The house was well supplied with everything you need. The river view is beautiful. The bedroom next to the porch could use a headboard, or a protective board across the windows behind the bed. We had a great time there.

William was a wonderful host! Communication was great! The home had a lot of character, and it was close to downtown. We were able to bring our fur babies too which was so nice! The back porch had a great view of the water and was so relaxing.

The Sterling House checks all the boxes. Pet-friendly (our dog loved running around in the fenced backyard), clean, sooo cozy, and convenient to everything. The beds are super comfy and the kitchen is well-stocked. We felt very much at home there. There are two parks within walking distance (one less than 1/8th mile), it's walkable to downtown, and the street is historic, quiet, and lovely. The view from the deck is incredible! The river is closer to the house than it appears in the listing pictures, and we spent much of our time on the deck or in the great room appreciating the view. We were even lucky enough to have a train pass by one morning, and we saw the old swing bridge in action. Check-in couldn't be more effortless, and the host responds very quickly. We were also pleased with the variety and quality of the restaurants in Washington. Can highly recommend The Bank Bistro and Bar (amazing Caesar salad), Pam's diner, and Havens Mill Pizza (take out only). Truly one of our favorite rentals of all time. We hope to return again and again.

Adorable, private, clean and lovely house with a beautiful view. It was equipped with everything we needed and we loved the back porch. Easy walking distance to downtown.

Highly recommend this property and visiting Washington, NC! William was easy to communicate with, kind, and thoughtful. The home was very clean and well stocked. We enjoyed the proximity to town and listening to the cicadas while the sun set over the Pamlico. It was a fairly quick drive to Goose Creek State Park. FYI- this section of the river and the nearby Haven's Park are saltwater fishing designated. If you fish from the park downtown (past the railroad bridge), then it is freshwater. 20 minutes away in Grimesland, there are public ponds managed by NC WRC that stock LMB @ GPS 35.5825, -77.1716.

Beautiful Home on the Water

We loved the location of the house and the relaxing outdoor seating area looking on the water. House had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Owner is great with communication! Highly recommend!

Beautiful back porch which we enjoyed both morning and evening. We were able to grill our fresh seafood. Our dogs loved the backyard to run and the back porch, as well. We were able to walk the neighborhood and take in the historic homes.

William was a great host. The house is super quiet and quaint. We loved that we could have the dogs with us and the yard is a great size to play ball with them and let them run around. The river and pond are perfect for fishing and downtown is walkable. Super cute restaurants on main street.

Charming Home

Went with my dog for a simple, quiet weekend getaway. The interior of the home was very clean, had everything i needed and more. The neighborhood is pretty and very walkable. Communication from William was just right. Teally enjoyed mt stay, i would go back.

Excellent!

The perfect location for sunrises, sunsets, walks to town. The historic neighborhood is charming and was decorated for Christmas while we were there. The house is so comfortable and our host was readily available for any questions we had. We plan to return to see the area dressed up for spring.
