Not happy

This house is falsely advertised! We were immediately concerned when we first pulled up to the house- boxes laying all over, personal belongings laying in the grass, and an unfinished deck with screws sticking out and rotting handrails. We walked in the house to unfinished renovations- patchwork throughout the house, outlet box hanging OUT of the outlet, a shattered glass door panel (that my 2 year old found and started touching the exposed glass shards), personal belongings throughout the house (closets stuffed to the max) and food in the fridge… and many other concerns. An Amazon driver even showed up to Deliver a package while we were there. The owner of the house is refusing to text us back, and VRBO refuses to stand behind a false listing on their page. Don’t waste your Money, stay somewhere else!

Do Not Stay Here

Horrible experience. This house was disgusting. Front porch covered in delivery boxes, several trash cans in the yard, piles of dog feces in the yard, hot tub was filthy with dirt and hair, and the back deck was under diy construction. The inside smelled when you walked in. I killed 5 large wolf spiders within the first couple hours of being there. There was spoiled milk in the fridge which also needs a good cleaning. I couldn’t find 1 smoke detector in the whole house. Kept smelling gas after we used the stove, had to mess with the knobs to get it to turn off completely even though it looked off. Not to mention the truck in the driveway that had flat tires. The neighborhood was very sketchy. Seemed like people don’t go outside walking until dark. The only reason I stayed was because I had no other choice. My son was getting married and I have a 180lb Great Dane that I can’t sneak into a hotel. I could go on and on. Just stay somewhere other than here.

Cleanliness

It was a little disheartening finding dog poo behind one of the beds. And in the yard. Also there was open food left. Now I understood that there would be clothing in this and that. But it was even more than I expected.

Great stay!

We had an excellent trip and Carolynn was a wonderful host! I did wish the communication of the extra charge for the hot tub along with the hot tub rules had been listed ahead of time, and a few of the bedroom sleeping arrangements were a little different than listed, but it was not a huge inconvenience. Carolynn answered all our questions and even went and bought us some coffee creamer that we needed ahead of time! She seems like a wonderful woman and we had a great time.

Great Place To Celebrate a Holiday

We rented the house so that we could celebrate Thanksgiving ‘at home’ with my elderly, immune compromised in laws. The Barnhouse was very comfortable and perfect for our group. It was very clean and homey. Thank you for a great stay!
