Welcome to Afterdune Delight (formerly Quackin' Up), a well-cared-for, five bedroom beach house in the community of Duck Ridge Shores right in the heart of Duck, NC. With the beach access being a mere 200 yards away and Duck Rd less than a 1/2 a mile, this house is the perfect location. Want to go kayaking in the sound? No problem! The neighborhood provides access to launch kayaks and SUPs. The home is very well laid out over three levels so no one feels like they're on top of one another. Five bedrooms and 3 full baths plus an outdoor shower. Enjoy the private pool or relax in the hot tub. Bring your bikes and enjoy an easy bike ride to the shops, restaurants, and the Duck boardwalk. A pet-friendly home for well behaved dogs, Afterdune Delight is the perfect spot for the family dog to enjoy beach time as well. 1 dog maximum please

There's nothing like watching a colorful sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean from the large decks boasting ocean views. There's plenty of room for sunbathing and enjoying sea breezes both on the decks and by the pool. All decks are gated - perfect for little ones and to keep your fur-babies from exploring too far! Inside the home, WiFi internet access, PlayStation 2 in the loft, many games, and a rec room with a Foosball table are available for your enjoyment. A fully-equipped kitchen and large dining table provide the perfect setting for your family meals.

Duck is renowned for wide, clean beaches and charming Duck Village, where you'll find a wide selection of wonderful restaurants and unique shops. You're sure to find this coastal village both welcoming and charming. While vacationing on the Outer Banks, take a short drive north to Corolla to see the wild horses or south to the Hatteras National Seashore and Lighthouse. Be sure to visit the Wright Brother's Memorial and Jockey's Ridge State Park, too. With so much to do, your family is sure to create memories that will last a life time!

LINENS:
Weekly rentals from June 1st to September 1st will include bed and bath linens in your rental price. Beach towels are not included but can be added.

Offseason, linens are not included and guests may bring their own or rent linens for your stay.

the host is very friendly and helpful. the hose was nice and love that it's pet friendly! very easy walk to the beach. there's a wagon, beach chairs, and umbrella you can use on the beach too!

Excellent Family Getaway

Perfect property and location for 3 generations of family! Catch sunrises from the ocean on one end of the street and sunsets from the marsh on the other end of the street. The layout allowed us all to hang out together, but also to come and go in our own time and space when needed. Easy drive or walk to most of the shops and restaurants. Suzanne, the host, was very attentive and easy to communicate with.

Location was wonderful. Pool and hot tub were very nice and clean. House and decor could use some TLC. A bit hard use in the house. Rooms are TINY. May sleep 10 but couldn’t imagine hosting 10 people in the living area. No view of ocean. Owners will need to step it up in comparison to other rentals. But we did enjoy our stay.

Relaxed beach getaway

We loved our stay at Suzanne’s beach home. The house is perfectly located for easy walking access to the beach and town. The kids loved the loft and the pool. The outdoor shower was perfect for a rinse-off after pool or beach. Quite relaxing and enjoyable!

We had a wonderful time at this home. It was within walking distance of the beach and the boardwalk. The property was clean and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The owner was easy to reach with any questions or concerns. We would definitely stay at this location again.

Nice house nice location

This house was prefect for our family and I was surprised by the quality of the kitchen items. Most rentals have really cheap old stuff but not here. Really good quality.

We would stay again! The location was great-owners were very easy to communicate with when needed. I will say, the cleaning people could do a better job. But the isn’t a reflection of the owners or the house.

My daughter and I loved the house. It allowed our family to get together as a large group, with enough smaller spaces if some need to just have less activity. We were within walking distance to beach, sound, and shopping. On 07/04, fireworks were visible from Kill Devil Hills to Duck. Owner had labeled kitchen, book rack with local dining, copy of house operational items, like TVs, pool, hot tub, outdoor shower, and grill. After 5 of family went back to their locations, the 9 staying here slept soundly. We want to go back.

Week at Duck

House was in a good location … 8 houses from beach ! Family loved the pool area … comfortable with lots of seating . Kids loved the loft area . Kitchen well stocked. Deck furnished well . Outside wood of deck in need of refurbishing / replacing . Bedroom floor bath sink drain not working . Lower level queen bed mattress needs replacing . Front grill was in horrible shape, but was replaced the day we left . All in all the owner was very responsive and we had a great week !

Loved Quackin Up!

We had a great time at the house. The location was perfect, the kitchen was stocked for all of our cooking needs, and there was plenty of space for four adults and two dogs. We would definitely book again!

So when the opportunity presented itself, we took the plunge and finally a dream has come true of owning our own beach house...a house that we are happy to share with other families to create memories to last a lifetime. We have vacationed in Duck for several years with other friends and we just love the low key, quieter, family feel of the area. Each of the other neighborhoods in OBX has its own draw but Duck has become our favorite. This house is perfectly located in that you can literally walk to the beach OR to downtown Duck in minutes. Wee Winks Market and Deli, Blue Point restaurant and the ABC store are all a half mile away or less! We also own a house at Lake Anna (VRBO.com/510981) and have managed it ourselves since 2013. Check out our many 5 star reviews!
