We are sorry and surprised to see your recent review of our property. In 15 years, this is the first bad review we have seen. This villa has been a place of fantastic memories for our family and for our renters as well. We are saddened to hear it was not the same for you.
If linens were worn/tired, and pots/pans damaged, there is no excuse. We will certainly take this up with our managers and have all items replaced immediately, and any time in the future when they begin to show signs of ware. This is not the norm and not a complaint we have heard before.
It is our standard to have 4 pillows per queen and king, 2 per double and bunk. When you requested extra, we responded immediately. More pillows were delivered. It is worth noting that all the new pillows were still in their packaging and unused after your departure.
As far as our furniture, it is unfortunate that you don’t prefer our taste. All the furniture and arrangement (inside and out) are available to view on the VRBO website. The villa can sleep 12, yes, but the photos clearly depict the inside table as accommodating eight and the couches accommodating three each.
Photos of the kitchen are also available on the VRBO web site. These photos very clearly indicate the size of the kitchen. We are not sure what you are used to, but the kitchen is quite appropriate to the size of the villa. In fact, every kitchen in the Las Palmas development is of the same size, or smaller. Other than a stocked pantry, which amenities were missing? We often have guests that have professional chefs cooking at the villa and this is the first complaint we’ve heard. The villa has a Wolf range, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender, juicer, disposal, chef knives, plates, utensils, glassware, place mats, linen napkins, cutting boards, platters, Tupperware, etc.
The fogged slider is a result of a glass pane failure. New sliders have been on order for some time and will be replaced shortly. We understand and agree that the fogged glass was an eyesore. Unfortunately, the replacements were not there before your stay.
Punta Mita during the rainy season is hot and humid. The area received an exceptional amount of rain this year and your stay was in the height of the season. A musty odor when all doors and windows are sealed is rather common for most homes this time of year. We do what we can to limit the humidity in the house by running AC regularly, dehumidifier bags, etc. We will have the manager investigate the air filter grate and have it cleaned and painted. This should be a part of their regular property maintenance. Most other times of year our guest enjoy the indoor/outdoor living and have the villa wide open.
We have had our housekeeper, Yessi, for many years. She is a part of our family. She has not only cleaned our villa, but she also cared for our children when they were young. She is a caring and conscientious woman that works hard every day. To complain that she was there too long is interesting. One of your first requests upon arrival was that housekeeping be there all day/ every day.
As far as the netting up on the roof, this is meant to keep swallows from nesting in the eaves of the courtyard. This is not meant to control insects. Recent storms did some damage, but it has since been replaced. It is worth noting that the netting is about 30 feet up and made of a clear nylon, meant to be as invisible as possible. You must have been really looking for items to include in your review.
