Green Escape

Accommodating is what I do very well and decorating and setting up is my forte'. Thanks for sharing your impressions of Green Escape.

ATTENTION REVIEW READERS: A glitch in VRBO's system changed my rating of 4 STARS to TWO. I rated every category with a 4 and when reviewing my review immediately afterwards, one of the four categories, the overall rating was changed to 2. These guests took good care of my property and left everything in good condition.

From the moment we met, I realized that these guests were "top shelf", friendly, engaging, caring and proactive. A joy to converse when we first met and I even felt a twinge of "emptiness" when they departed. Talk about taking care of Green Escape? It was as clean and tidy as when they first arrived. If the rating scale was unlimited, 10 out of 10 could easily be 100. My best to friends newfound!

You brought a spark of good energy to Green Escape and my thanks abound. It's a good feeling to be appreciated and complimented.

Thanks for the kind review. Living plants and fresh cut flowers breathe life into what could be a boxed four walls. I'm a horticulturist by trade and don't hold back on their use both indoors and out. Even in the winter months you'll find outdoor displays of evergreen and flowering plants that tolerate winter's chill. Outdoors, I use plants to add color, texture and ambiance. Consciously, you may not realize, but the display eases your mind, relaxes your senses and transforms you. Sitting on the covered porch, you'll enjoy the visual display and hear the deep-toned wind chimes echo your stress away as you focus on the Zen surrounding. Green Escape is more than accommodations~~

Thanks for mentioning the outdoor shower. I've been blessed with having an outdoor shower for the last 27 years at three different homes, Escondido, California, Kalaheo, Kauai and here in Asheville. What an exhilarating experience to shower with nothing above you except the shower head and open sky. Whether to rinse off before and/or after the hot tub or to actually take a shower amongst the tall stately tree canopy, don't miss this opportunity. Tucked away around the corner of the house, I've also privatized its location with additional screening along the property fence line. It's a seasonal hot shower, even in winter months when temps are above freezing at night. Enjoy the ride and stay frosty!

Late summer is very busy with hosting responsibilities as we segway into the fall season. I love setting up for each set of guests and vary the decor and amenities. It compares to being an artist with a blank canvas. Being recognized for such is very gratifying, thank you. Best wishes for the remaining days of this year.

Your review gives me impetus to continue enjoying what I do to provide for my guests. I've a passion for what I do and being recognized and complimented drives me further. Thank you

Thank you for sharing your impressions of Green Escape. Prepping Green Escape for new arrivals is time consuming and yet a pleasure as the "chore" is actually play for me. As I set up for last weekend's guests, my thoughts were already on the upcoming fall transition. I'll soon be digging out the fall decor, purchasing flowering mums, pumpkins, squash and gourds. Towards the middle of October, my guests are able to take home any of my outdoor planters to care and enjoy them indoors as they may. It's a great upcoming time of year and its guests such as yourself that make all this possible. Thank you again ~~

Continuing to keep things fresh, I've replaced the fawn-colored sofa with a very comfortable faux-leather white couch with black trim. It brightens the living room up a few notches. The next decor change will come as we approach the fall season. Reviews such as yours are an impetus to keep changing with time while retaining things that you've commented on. Appreciate you taking time to review Green Escape!

I consider myself a spatial designer and arrange colorful items that result in being pleasing to the eye. The deep tonal wind chimes soothes the ear. The essential oil diffuser and seasonal plants whiff subtle fragrance. That leaves taste, I offer an assortment of baked goods for that early morning snack. Setting up for you is one of my true joys of being your host. Thanks for sharing your pleasure in what you'll find here.

Thank you, Mary From the moment we met, I felt a connection with both of you. Many guests arrive wound up like a top from the stress of their daily responsibilities that unravels as they experience what Green Escape offers. You, on the other hand came open and ready for anything. I appreciated how we were able to seamlessly engage and converse from the start. The majority of guest's reviews filter in a day or two after departure. I swear it was just hours for yours. Thanks for jumping right on it, I appreciate you. Tom ~~ your host

I just finished setting up the final touches for today's check-in. I'm like a kid in the candy store as I prepare the pastry garnishes and stock the fridge and snack bar. Collecting and arranging the fresh flowers brings back pleasant memories of my former career as a florist. One final check on cleanliness and a last- minute vacuum completes the inside and then I set up the lighting to welcome the guests later in the day. On average, I doddle an hour or more as I slowly do these final checks and all the while, think of the reaction I'm trying to elicit from guests. Thank you for recognizing what I do and try to provide you.

I appreciate your vote of confidence. The only bottom line here is your complete satisfaction. As we move into spring and the warmer months of the year, the palette of amenities takes on the outdoor spaces. The transition has begun and continues. My only regret was being out of town and not getting to meet and orient you personally to all that Green Escape offers.

Achieving a review like yours is what drives me to provide amenities that appeal to your five senses, from the deep-toned wind chimes to the palette of colors from the extensive plantings. It's my pleasure. Thank you for recognizing and most importantly enjoying them all.

Green Escape offers varying views throughout the year, from distant mountain, shade dappled woodland, snow draped canopy, and star filled open sky. That's nature's contribution, then add the greenery and colors of a myriad of potted tropical and flowering annuals and perennials. It's my horticultural delight set up for both of us to enjoy. With every reservation, I purchase something green and/or colorful to grace the outer decks in the growing season or the apartment itself when weather dictates. Breath it in my friends!

I've just returned from a month-long visit to New Zealand and as awesome and beautiful as the experience lay at my feet, I missed my hosting opportunities and the property itself. I'm back and raring to pour my energy into this brand-new year. Thanks for your review and look forward to your return. Tom, your host

I very much appreciate your feedback. You are the reason I pour my energy to provide you a welcoming, clean and well stocked personal space. I do hope we get a chance to do it all over again. Tom ~~ your host

Thanks for sharing your review, complete with the photo of the Biltmore House. JJ raved over you and can see from the tone of your review that you've the personality that fits well at Green Escape. I hope you return sometime when I'm here hosting.

I appreciate your recommendation. We've changed over from fall to Christmas decor this weekend to keep things fresh and lively. Thank you again for staying. Our next big changeover comes with the arrival of spring. Tom ~~ your host

Thanks for the glowing review. Guests give me the opportunity to play with design, color and texture when setting up the fresh flowers, potted indoor plants and seasonal outdoor flowers. Valentine's Day is especially fun to set up as I add those extra touches of chocolate, roses, and bubbly. As the outdoor wakes up from this colder than normal winter, already the crocus and a few daffodils are blooming and shopping for colorful new flowering plants has begun. I'm excited to create an entirely new palette of welcoming beauty once again. My best to you both, Happy Spring!!
