A dream holiday awaits you in this beautiful vacation rental with swimming pool in the heart of a charming village and its Benedictine abbey church of the 11th century, in Sant Miquel de Fluvià, less than 10 km from the sea and the beaches of San Pere Pescador, in the bay of Rosas and l'Escalà.
Under the shadow of its magnificent bell tower, our fourteenth/sixteenth century house, the oldest in the village and which is registered in the "Inventari del Patrimoni Arquitectònic de Catalunya", has preserved the traces of its past as a monks' hotel, then as an inn ("Posada" in Spanish) and recently as a farm.
We carried out a complete renovation in 2023/2024, in a style combining respect for this heritage and choice of modern materials.
The house offers 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms, a party room with billiards and bar, as well as a large terrace facing the almost thousand-year-old tower/campanile of the abbey church, under a shaded pergola.

Discover at a glance the main features that make our Posada an exceptional place for your holidays with family or friends, in all seasons.PGJyPg L'Alt-Empordà is a region of the province of Girona, bordered by the wide bay of Rosas, which connects the Cap de Creus which drowns the Pyrenees in the sea with its pearl, Cadaquès, as far as the seaside resort of l'Escalà.
With its extraordinary location and beaches, the Greeks made it a trading post, which the Romans developed, of which Empuriès survives, which gives its name to this region, its exceptional ruins and its magnificent village of Sant Marti. Dalì in turn made this region his anchorage, with his house in Port-Lligat, the Castle of Púbol, which was the refuge of his wife and muse, Gala, and the Museum-Theatre which is his Mausoleum in Figureras. You are thus in the heart of the "Dalí triangle".
You can discover, among other things, the Aiguamolls Natural Park, the medieval villages of Pals and Besalù, the volcanic park of Olot in the Garrotxa valley, the beautiful city of Girona, and enjoy the coves of Costa Brava, from 7 km from the Posada, whether on the seafront, to the north in Cap de Creus with its coves and in particular the site of Tudela (to be seen), or to the south on the side of Begùr, Callela and Palafrugell.
For golf lovers, you will have two 18-hole courses 15 km away, at Empordà Golf in the south or in Peralada in the north. But also go-karting, mini-golf, boating or cycling (very easy to hire), fishing in the Fluvià, a magnificent river that crosses our village.
The village of Sant Miquel de Fluvià is the site of a Benedictine abbey founded in 1048, which will soon celebrate its thousand years! The abbey church, which has become the village church, remains remains, dominated by its imposing bell tower facing the Posada, and the remains of the cloister. Sant Miquel de Fluvià is even a witness to the Roman presence as early as the 1st century with a fountain, and a particularly well preserved Roman oven. You will find a butcher's shop, a mini-market, a pharmacy and a bar run by our friend Rosa as shops in the village. Note the presence in the village of a train station linking Sant Miquel, 15 minutes from the center of Figueres, or 1h30 from Barcelona for lovers of a getaway in the Catalan capital.
8km from the house are the beaches of Sant Pere Pescador in the Bay of Roses, and the exceptional site of Sant Martì d'Empuries with its Greek and Roman ruins and the remains of the Greek quay whose snorkeling tour is like diving into an aquarium. The site includes a walking path linking the village of Sant Martì to l'Escalà, a very pleasant seaside resort.
You are in the heart of the "Dalí triangle" with Portlligat (42km), the Theatre Museum-Mausoleum of Figueres (19km), and the Castle of Púbol (32km), refuge of Gala, the muse of Dalì.
The Aiguamolls Natural Park, which covers a large part of the land bordering the Bay of Roses, is a place of refuge for migratory birds, storks and other pink flamingos that find here vast protected areas. The result is an exceptional natural area to explore on foot or by bike, for superb walks to discover the fauna and flora.
Cadaquès and Cap de Creus. The Cap de Creus Natural Park, where the Pyrenees flow into the sea, offers an exceptional site, for its beauty, preservation, geological setting, fauna and flora. Cadaquès and the cove of Port Lligat which is home to Dalì's house, the beaches of Tudelà and their poetic rocks, the monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, the seaside resort of Rosas and El Puerto de la Selva are all places to go on excursions that will delight you.
