BEWARE-Bait & Switch I was given a different unit. Looked nothing like the listing only the view!

I booked this property on Jan 12, 2022, after spending days searching through properties trying to find something suitable for my family get away. I thought I found exactly what I was looking for, so I booked this property. NEW STYLISH 2BR/LAS OLAS CONDO/20TH FLOOR/ROSARITO the post said. I found it suitable for my family arrangements, so I booked. When I arrived and checked in I new something was wrong because I was instructed that my unit was on the 17th floor, I knew it was supposed to be on the 20th. I contacted the host and informed him that I know they have multiple units and I believe I was given the wrong unit. The host reply was I think there was a update of images on the property. The unit on the 17th floor is the updated listing. I have listing I can move you to tomorrow on the 18th floor it has two queen size beds and a sofa. I looked at the unit he wanted to move me to, and it still did not meet the correct sleeping arrangements for my family of 3 adults and 2 kids age 5 & 6. I sent a message to the host letting him know that we would not be moving to this other unit and that I was disappointed in the unit that they put us in, mainly because the sleeping arrangements did not meet my needs. For the amount of money I paid for the unit, I never planned on sleeping on the couch. The description says there are three beds. I also pointed out to the host that its not a matter of updated pictures for the listing that I booked, it’s an entirely different unit. I booked Property # 2532179 and they put me in Property # 9403136. If for some reason the availability of the listing changed or they were no longer able to rent the unit out, someone should have reached out to me with that information and given me a chance to cancel my reservation. You don’t just let the renter show up and you place them wherever you see fit. The condo we stayed in was a nice place with an amazing view, but it wasn’t what I expected nor what I paid for. There weren’t enough face towels for the number of individuals that the listing says it accommodates there were only 2 face towels, 4 pool towels, no extra paper towels and you had to hold the toaster button down and wait on it for it to work. The unit had the very basics of what you needed to be okay. I felt like I was camping rather than staying in this luxury resort. At the time of writing this review, I still have not heard back from the host! I should be refunded.

DO NOT TRUST THIS HOST---He was Anything BUT!!! The WORST Experience!!!

This was ABSOLUTELY the WOOOOORST booking experience I have EVER had in my life!! First off, THIS guy did not even want to elaborate or clarify where this property was located. Secondly, when he did respond, it was curt and ambiguous. Initially, I assumed it may have been the language barrier, which is why I did not become immediately suspicious. What I did not realize at the time was that this was a precursor for the worst consumer experience of my entire life! I was forced to do my own research in order to figure out where this property was located. Based on the listing that we pre-paid for, my travel companion and I flew out from the east coast to San Diego with the intent of driving across the Mexican border. We got 2hrs of sleep the night before traveling so that we could catch the 1st flight out of the day in an attempt to maximize the time spent at the property, as we were only going to be renting for a duration of 3 days. We caught the 1st flight, no problems. We rented the vehicle in San Diego and headed to Mexico. We arrived 3hours later. right about the time that check-in was scheduled to commence. "Perfect", we thOUght, . . .but it was anything BUT!! Because we never got any instructions, and no direction, we wasted 45 minutes upon arrival trying to figure out where the property was and how to access it. There was no signage, no attendants, no direction, and we had NO CELLULAR SERVICE!! I could not call. I could not text. ANd had no clue. AND . . .I do not speak the language!!! We finally saw one of the security staff members who also spoke some English (THANK GOD!) and we explained that we had a reservation. She escorted us inside where we spoke to the security manager who attempted to assist by looking up the information. 25 minutes after thAt, we FINALLY got him what he needed to contact the property owner who gave him the information to provide to us. "Finally!" we thought . . ." some relief, and we can begin our vacation" . . . .wrOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOng!!!!!! We were told that one of Christian's (The property owner) assistants was coming to get us situated. She appeared at the security desk and spoke no English. She showed us to the room, and IMMEDIATELY upon entering, I knew that this was NOT the VRBO listing that we had paid for. As you can imagine: after sleeping just 2 hours, a 6-hour flight, a 3-hour drive, and 1 hour to actually access the property, this was the LAST thing that we needed! I called this guy up in hopes that i

Born in Los Angeles, and a long-time Las Vegas resident! Now full-time living in beautiful Rosarito! I'm passionate about traveling, experiencing new cultures, and creating new opportunities. I spend most of my time leading our property management team and taking care of guests but in my free time, you'll find me at the beach, taking photos, or having some fresh seafood. I love all water-related things and know some of the best spots to discover, see marine life, and chill out on sandy beaches - don't be shy to ask for recommendations!
