Welcome to A License to Chill "B!" This 4 bedroom/4 bathroom, direct beachfront, single-side of a duplex is equipped to comfortably sleep 13 guests. The property can be rented with A License to Chill "A" as a whole unit to sleep 29 for larger groups, making this home a great place for a multi-family vacation or group retreat! Located in the West Beach area of Gulf Shores, this direct beachfront duplex is conveniently located near all of the area's attractions. With amazing beachfront views and a pool, this unit is the perfect spot for your next Gulf Shores beach vacation! Bring your furry friends along as this property is pet-friendly for up to 2 dogs with an additional fee(s). 

About A License To Chill B

A License To Chill B is just one-half of the A License To Chill vacation home that can be rented by itself. The “B’ side of the duplex can accommodate up to 13 people plus 2 pets. Lounging on the beach, taking a dip in the pool, testing your angling skills in the surf, or just enjoying a cool beverage on the private deck area are some of the things you and your family will enjoy! 

Inside A License To Chill B on the 1st floor, you will find an open-concept living space that is bright and a perfect place to gather with family and friends. The living area provides comfortable seating with a mounted TV and amazing views of the Gulf of Mexico. The dining table seats 8 and is next to the fully equipped kitchen. A full bathroom as well as bedroom #2 are also found on the 1st floor. Bedroom #2 will sleep two with a queen bed, a TV, and an entrance into the full bathroom.

Moving upstairs to the 2nd floor, there are two bedrooms with private bathrooms. Bedroom #3 features a king bed, a TV, a private balcony, Gulf views, and a private bathroom. Bedroom #4 has a queen bed, a TV, and a private bathroom.

On the 3rd floor is the large master bedroom. This room sleeps four with a king bed and a bunk bed. There are Gulf views and a private balcony as well as a TV and a private full bathroom.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The location is just beyond the condo properties, so it is very close to all the shopping and restaurants. The pool is lovely and was a great way to spend our evenings on the deck.

Beach house B

Great views but doors barely latch and rain comes in. Dryer is held together with duct tape. Had to buy a skillet to cook with. Never had to buy trash bags, toilet paper, or paper towels but did at this house. Found a cockroach. Floors are uneven with soft spots. We travel all over and this house was a disappointment.

Great location

Great location, beach is beautiful. We stayed before the touristy, party crowd. New deck rails were nice but it blocked the beautiful beach view from the porch. Personally I would search for a single home and not two connected. Excellent communication with rental place!

Spring break 2024

We had an amazing stay! The house is in a perfect location and close to most everything. Rooms are very nice. Pool was nice though had a lot of sand in the bottom. They came and put chemicals in but didn't clean it out, seems they would have since sand was visible in the bottom. That's really the only complaint.

Family vacation

Communication with Harris properties was awesome. Always got back to me super fast. Prime location. Beautiful views. Very clean linens. however the couches were awfully filthy. The rugs were very very stained and gross. The yard had garbage, beer cans, wood, and so much more all over the place. The dryer door did not close. Someone came to put in a new deck door and it did not work at all. Lots of odds and ends needed fixing such as trim not finished, towel holders falling out of the wall, etc.

Nice stay

Overall, the property was good. Space was good, location and parking excellent. The property needs some tlc in regards to finishes touched up, wear and tear tended to, and a good deep cleaning. The space was great for our family, and the location right on the beach was great.

We had a wonderful weekend with our family at this beach home! Great location. Directly on the beach. It has everything we needed. Easy check in. Highly recommend!

Less Than Ideal

Thirty minutes prior to check-in I called to see if the unit had been cleaned. Was told it had but the inspector hadn't come out yet. No one ever showed up to "inspect" it and the door unlocked exactly at 4:00pm. The pool was covered in sand the entire time we were there even after the day it got cleaned (our final day there and still didnt actually get all the sand out). There was absolutely no sense in us paying the extra $50 to heat it per day when it was a dirty pool. The deck areas gave everyone splinters. The walls, doors, ceiling fans were visibly covered in dust. There was black mold growing around the trim. The flooring and floor transition pieces were not finished in some places. The toilet in one bathroom broke twice and was original to the home. The rugs were very dirty. Entrance was very dirty. Vents were all rusted. Internet/Wifi was terrible. There are no beach or pool toys available as I thought I had read in another previous review. Aside from the cleanliness and extremely poor "flip job" on this home, the location was absolutely perfect. On more of a quieter, family friendly side just down from the main attractions.

Nice, but Needs Maintenance and Amenities

The location of the property is terrific--right on the beach and the pool is great. Our family of 6 had a wonderful time. I do note that year old reviews raised several items in need of repair that management said they'd look into, but were still outstanding and very annoying: the wifi went out 3-5 times each day; the door to the deck leaked and water puddled on the floor from the rain; electric outlet in the great room and 2nd floor beachside bathroom were not properly attached; the door to the deck and the exterior door on the 2nd floor balcony stuck so that you couldn't open them quietly for an early morning walk on the beach without waking the household; the 3rd floor bathroom faucet was loose, trash in the yard, rusty broken fence, etc. The management team responded quickly when we called about 2 broken chairs, but they need to have a maintenance manager go through the house and check operation of the doors, both interior and exterior, electric, etc. It would be make the place more enjoyable to have additional items that you can't bring on an airplane: beach towels and toys, umbrella, folding chairs, etc.

Property/location was amazing, our group had a wonderful time! Only complaint is we were lead to believe there was a “heated” pool. The ‘for an additional fee’ should have been made more clear when booking. All and all our group would love to return!

Great place to stay!

We had a group of 7 and we had plenty of room, clean, pool was great and the heater was a perfect option. We didn't need to contact the company much but when we did they were responsive, helpful and always friendly. Would recommend and will use harris again when traveling to these areas.

We enjoyed our stay here.

The wifi was terrible. Cut in and out constantly. Kids wanted to watch tv and it would cut in and out. The main living room tv was difficult and couldn’t get regular tv channels. Which this didn’t make our stay bad but could be improved for future guests.

Perfect Location

Loved the location, the beach felt like it was a private beach, zero crowds and we could be right on the water without rows of beach chairs.

Directly on beach!

Enjoyed our close to the beach location. Pool was great as well as ocean. We had to try three codes before we got one that worked! The house setup was good and great due to bathrooms being with each bedroom. The noise level from neighbors running in the halls was bothersome. The bedrooms were all great. Only problem we had was third floor bathroom ceiling fixture fell out of ceiling. Also first and second floor outside doors leaked like sieves when raining. There was a paucity of window treatments so we spent time staring at neighbors and vice versa. Ice maker could not keep up. I must say for the price I paid not reflective of what house should have been!
