Delightful independant property with garden in small medieval fortified citadel
In the heart of Pujols which has a good restaurant, several cafes, some interesting shops and galleries. The Ste Foy church with amazing 14th century recently preserved murals. An interesting Sunday market and a weekly Marche Goumande. On the hill overlooking Villeneuve sur Lot with all it supermarkets and other shops and amenities and Agen the cunty town is 25 minutes away. A big swimming complex is down the hill in modern Pujols which has a very good small Super U supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, vet, doctor, tabac and florist as well as a few other shops with easy parking. the mainline station in Agen has the fast line to Paris22-1/2hrs to the city and airport of Bergerac, Bordeaux, Toulouse within an 1-1/2, Bergerac is an hour away. Sport and equestrian centres close by with other interesting bastides in close proximity to Pujols.
This 14th century building has been beautifully transformed into a small but lovely venue. The host was very kind to stock some items in the fridge for us and met us to greet us at the unit.
Two issues however made the stay problematic. The upper loft is VERY hot and air does not circulate well. As the unit does not have air conditioning this made sleeping difficult. We were there in July, so perhaps this might not be an issue in the cooler months.
The second issue was the wifi which was both patchy in availability and intermittently not available. Perhaps this may be a result of being situated inside the Bastide?
I would however recommend with the above 2 limitations
