Sent an email to property manager with absolutely no response
Good evening –
As we prepare to depart from our Better Beach Rental, I wanted to take the time to share with you a bit about our experience. My son is a Real Estate Manager for a commercial real estate firm in Charlotte, NC and felt that based on the amount we spent for a week here in this rental home that some of the issues we had are unacceptable. We understand that you are not able check each house weekly before your new renters arrive. Our son expressed that he must rely on his staff and vendors to maintain his office properties and would want an unsatisfied tenant to reach out with this feedback to help improve the experience for future tenants. Instead of writing a bad review we have decided to provide a list of issues that we had with his property and after reading the one review on VRBO.com this should come as no surprise to you.
The sliding glass door from the house to the front porch is missing the rollers and is nearly impossible to slide open and closed. Not only was it an inconvenience for our family but it is embarrassing when our dinner guests are trying to get on and off the front porch.
We traveled several hours, anticipating that we would have access to the house at 4pm. At 4:12pm we received a text saying that our cleaning was delayed and that our rental would be available no later than 6pm. We were already within 15 minutes of the rental house when we received this text and decided to wait in the driveway until the cleaning crew was finished cleaning the home. I never received a text letting us know that the house was available but at 5:30pm the cleaning crew came down to let us know that the cleaning was complete, they crew then retrieved their pitbull from the fenced in back yard and left. As we started unloading the car, we noticed that the carport/garage area was dirty and looked very unkept, the ground level interior hallways and stairway to the main level hadn’t been cleaned at all from the last renters.
The pool was dirty upon arrival, 3 of the 4 patio chair seats bottoms are broken out, there are overgrown weeds surrounding the pool in the cracks of the concrete and unmanicured landscaping front and rear of the home.
We also observed many burned out lightbulbs, toilet paper and towel racks loose and falling off the walls.
