Stone River Retreat is nestled along the banks of the Mokelumne. Six spacious bedrooms (3 downstairs and 3 upstairs) 4-1/2 bathrooms. Sleeps 14. Heated sport pool/spa (27'x40'), over 1,000 sq ft of covered patios for lounging, ping-pong, lawn games,dining and other entertaining.

Property is secluded in the wilderness with an abundance of wildlife to observe and adventure, exploring nature hikes, cycling country roads, charm of nearby Gold Country towns of Amador City and Sutter Creek.

This place is an amazing property to stay at with friends or family. It was our second staythere .So many special little places to hang out read visit relax the pool and hot tub are a wonderful feature. Now they have painting rocks a sauna. . We took a canoe and some kayak and stand up paddle boards up the river.. Plenty of wine tasting in the area as well. The host Del he is one of the best host we have ever had.

We average two vacation rentals per year. Del is a top notch host and excellent communicator. Best ever!He wants his guest to enjoy the property and it shows everywhere. So many things done right, and we cant think of a single thing the host could have done better.Best stocked property we've every stayed at. Short on nothing. My family all agree he built the best pool possible for a family. The large sauna overlooking the river was a great unexpected treat. I loved the outdoor shower. The privacy of this home is fantastic. Sound system perfect. We are looking forward to coming back next year and staying even longer. Thank you Del!

This place was truly amazing! I know people say the photos don’t do it justice, but really it is true. Once we arrived, we were greeted with such a refreshing and upbeat Marne! She made us feel better than being at home, with a tour of the place and glass of wine. We had four generations of family and we all had something fun or relaxing to do. We just loved loved loved it. Thanks Del and Marne!

All we could ask for, then MORE

Our family had a fabulous time at this wonderful home. The house was beautiful with many pieces of unique art pieces to enhance the decor of the house. The home was well stocked with anything you would need at a vacation home such as blankets, pillows, soaps, shampoo, kitchen spices, pots, pans etc. There was so much to do at the home besides swimming in the pool or using the jacuzzi. We are able to pick and enjoy fresh tomatoes and berries, enjoy time in the sauna, fish and/or boat in the river, shoot bows and arrows near the front side of the house, enjoy nature walks, rock painting and more. To top it off Del the host is a gem. He is so kind and friendly and truly made us feel as if we were his guests.

We enjoyed our stay so very much !! It was our first family reunion and your home was perfect ....

Our first family reunion and we couldn't imagine a more perfect place . There was a surprise around every corner !! We couldn't do all the activities so will have to give it another year !! The topping on the weekend was watching a male and female Black Phoebe bring food to their babies , the nest being in eaves above outside table. We even saw the babies w mouths open , calling for more food. One negative was a wasp nest near area between lawn and river. One grandson was stung and several wasps attacked our little diog . they had to be pulled out of her fur access to River. I think I left a pair of navy , knit capris on bench at foot of bed in master bedroom....please let me know if you find them so I can arrange to get them back. All in all , we loved our time there and hope to come back !!!

Perfect place for extended family stays

We have stayed multiple times with 3 generations of our family and this place is ideal set up for this. It has places for adults to relax, kids to play and places for everyone to all come together. The host is the best in the business.

Something for Everyone

8 adults, 6 children, ages 10 and under, 2 small dogs converged on this magnificent property. Del and Marne have a beautiful spread. Because they were both at other events, we let ourselves in. All was pretty self explanatory, but Del was always available through text to answer any questions. Their maintenance crew, Jesus, was excellent and helped with a few items when he came to tend the property. Lots of trout in the river, fish from the shore or put your waders on or float down from the park. the river is cold, snow fed, but the few rafting down were having a wonderful time. our son caught many trout and released them. He saw an elusive salmon also. River otters, egrets, geese and ducks are all part of the scenery. There's pockets of paradise everywhere on the property to get away from it all. The kids loved the riverfront as well as the pool and spa. They even tucked in for a short sauna in the new 8 person sauna. it's beautiful. I love to do art with the grands, and there is an art barn with paints, rocks to paint, which proved to be a fave. ping pong tournaments, archery, room for family soft ball and soccer games. Really everything we could want. the house is well equipped with everything. a coffee appliance garage, 2 fridges and 2 dishwashers. lots of games, a wonderful bar area. a quiet corner the older grands gathered and played on their devices when allowed. the master bedroom is divine and their are tons of bathrooms with beautiful showers. we will be back.

Amazing Place

We celebrated a birthday with friends and family at Stone River Retreat and enjoyed every minute. Del was super friendly and helpful with everything. The property is gorgeous and one can tell that he put lots of thought and love into shaping the space. It's definitely not a generic vacation home. We especially loved the archery area, the sauna and kayaking on the river.

Gem in Lodi

Pictures don’t do the property justice ;-). Everything about the property was amazing, from the location, to the amenities even the hospitable nature of the host, Del. My friends and family all had an amazing time, so much so, that we are planning to rent at least once a year. We can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Del for allowing us to rent your home and for being so accommodating and welcoming.

Amazing Stay

I don't usually write VRBO reviews but this place was the TOPS From the very beginning of the booking process Del was very helpful. Del met us upon arrival and first look of the property beautiful lots of green plants ,flowers, grass. He gave us a brief tour of the house and how things work and where things were located. The pool and the spa were amazing with the 2 umbrella holes in the Baja shelf you were able sit in shade on a chair all day. Awesome feature for kids. Fishing ,ping pong, slip n slide, archery Paddle board. So much to do if you wanted. Inside bar, kitchen had so many extras that most don't provide. Beds were comfortable TV room on the far end on the house nice large sofa. So many areas to visit and have your own time if needed to read a book and have a coffee or Mimosa. Also 5mins down the road we got fresh corn and 2 yummy pies. I can't say enough about this place so if you are looking for your next retreat this is the one for you.

River House

This property was amazing and delivered everything at promised. Lots of sitting Areas so everyone can spread out. The landscaping in lawn was amazing and beautiful. We would definitely come back here again.

Perfect Executive Retreat

We used the space for our executive team retreat, and it was perfect. One of the best available properties in the region. Beds and linens were great. Kitchen well stocked with necessary items for a large group. Then there's the river. . . Wow! So great to sit riverside and strategize with our team. 5 stars

Amazing stay

We all had a wonderful time! The pool and hot tub were big hits with everyone, especially the kids. The house was beautiful and we had plenty of space for everyone in the family (including grandparents). Some of us used the kayaks in the river, fished, did archery, played ping pong, or just read by the pool. There is something here for everyone. Thank you Del for an amazing stay!

Amazing Retreat

Loved the home and all of the amenities and activities on the property. Del was a great host and you could tell really wanted us to enjoy the property. The only thing to take note of is the outdoor cats on the property for those who are allergic or don’t like them.

A Really Great Thanksgiving

I have to start with the Host. Del is so caring. His desire for his guests to have a good time is for real. It that makes all the difference when staying somewhere. Are we walking on glass when we use the place or just having a good time? With Del it's gonna be "have a great time". Great music system, great kitchen, great pool, great beds, great house layout, great everything. It felt like a real relaxing vacation and not imposing on someone or feeling like you're gonna get nickled and dimed for who knows what "infractions". With the tone set, the actual place is great! Lots of smaller areas to hang out but also multiple big communal spaces. Both indoors and outdoors. The kitchen is amazing, and for a Thanksgiving dinner for 15 people, it went off without a hitch or a cold dish. Bedrooms are right sized, spaced out in the house, and filled with comfy comforters and pillows. Literally every person on the trip thanked me for finding this place that also had a great host. Del made me a local hero! ps - Del swung by with a hot apple pie from a local baker when he was dropping off some extra blankets. Making me even more of a hero on our first night there :-)

Amazing River Retreat

Amazing home, We're all SO grateful you share! I just cant say enough good things. It was the perfect place for family and friends. Plenty of room and the games were so fun! (Although I didn't win) I will keep in mind to come back with husbands time!

Don’t hesitate, the most perfect family getaway

We had family from all over the country and England come together for a nearby family wedding. This home was warm, clean, and provided endless relaxation. We’ll be booking again for family vacations!

Beautiful and serene

This was the second property we rented from Del, and he is just such a warm, gracious and generous host. He met us upon (early) arrival to walk us through the property and when we couldn’t hook up to the Sonos system, he returned back to help us troubleshoot. The property, while still a work in progress for him, is pretty amazing where it is. The pool and hot tub is set slightly above the river so there’s a true sense of privacy. The house was lovely and super clean throughout with so many spaces for our group to hangout. We’re already planning our next stay, both for the property and for its host!

Del Smith and Jennifer Redmond partnered up to acquire the Ranch. Del is a Building Contractor. He grew up in Lodi and, in 1983, founded, developed and operated Wine and Rose Hotel and Restaurant (in Lodi) for 20 years. Del later moved on to build in the SF bay area. Del has never lost his passion for hospitality and taking care of guests. Jennifer is an attorney, partner with Sheppard Mullen law firm. She has a passion for interior design and throughout the years she has completely restored and refurbished several amazing San Francisco homes. Together we make a great team.

This area has an abundancy of wildlife and nature areas to observe and study. And its not far from our other super cool 7500 sq ft 8-bedroom/ 5-bathroom Colonial Spanish style VRBO property, RedSmith Ranch #1830043

Gee, where do I start? The property is very secluded and private. Ok to turn up your music and dance outside all night long. Bring your two clean dogs! This is a kids curiosity paradise; birds, river animals, bugs, a place to truly learn and see how the cycle of animal life and the foothill eco system works.

For the adults, many wineries nearby. Great kitchen, bar, dining rooms, patios, for entertaining. Secluded Pool and Hot Tub for the privacy of clothing option swimming.

House is nearly 5,000 sq ft with spacious bedrooms and common areas. Plenty of nooks and sitting spots to enjoy private time. And night comes with dark skis for great star gazing.
