Iron Gate Chalet - 5 Minutes to Smugglers Notch and Wedding Barn!

Welcome to the Iron Gate Chalet. Located a quick 4 mile ride from Smugglers Notch Resort on 8 picturesque private acres in the foothills of Mt. Mansfield. Enjoy our Vermont property year round; experiencing all four seasons and the plentiful outdoor activities this area offers! From skiing and snowboarding at Smugglers Notch, Stowe, and Bolton Valley in the winter; to world class mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and swimming in the spring, summer, and fall there is plenty to do for everyone!

Location Highlights: We are also located just down the road from the Barn at Smuggler's Notch (Wedding Venue), 4 miles to Smugglers Notch Resort, 7 miles to Boyden Valley Winery and Wedding Barn, and 10-15 minutes (summer) and 45-60 minutes (winter) from Stowe Resort.

Our 3 bedroom chalet has an open floor plan with high ceilings and an abundance of natural light. The master bedroom has one Queen bed. There are 2 bedrooms located downstairs, one with a queen bed and one with a twin over full bunk bed. The downstairs also boasts a cozy reading book! There is a flat screen Smart TV in the living room as well as fast WIFI which all guests have access to. Bring your Netflix login and have a cozy movie night! The house boasts a partially covered elevated deck with a BBQ grill and seating area which can be enjoyed year round. We also have horseshoe pits and corn hole boards available for your use!

Outdoor dining is an absolute must on our 8-foot long picnic table!
We are located directly off a town maintained dirt road and our guests have full access to the property and can enjoy 8 private wooded acres complete with an outdoor fire pit!

Great Home Base

We had a great stay at the chalet. Even in the Summer heat, the house stayed cool enough and plenty of fans were supplied. The home was clean and well stocked. The location is an easy drive to Smuggler’s Notch and Stowe, and about 45 minutes to Burlington. Our dog loved exploring the property. We would definitely stay again.

An excellent dog friendly vacation spot!

The stay was exactly as described. Great location on the mountain near lots to do. The dog loved the room to run around outside. The interior has great cozy ski house vibes which was perfect for our winter get away. Would highly recommend staying here and would love to return again in the future.

Ski Weekend

Very cozy home close to Smuggler's Notch. It was great that we didn't have far to go after a whole day of skiing/snowboarding. Homeowners/Managers were very responsive with any questions. Would stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Perfect winter getaway

We loved this cabin and it was just perfect for our family of 5. So close to skiing but tucked away in a great little corner. Everything was so easy and relaxed. Definitely recommend for a quiet vacation.

Perfect getaway

We loved this cozy and comfortable chalet in the woods, which had everything we needed. The location is private and beautiful, with many thoughtful touches both inside and out. The hosts are very welcoming and responsive to questions. Highly recommended!

Perfect chalet in the woods

Our family absolutely loved staying at the chalet! The owners clearly put a lot of time into updating it and the attention to detail really shows. Everything was so well done and the house was well stocked with basics to make our stay easier. The chalet was adorable and highly recommend to anyone considering spending time in the Stowe, VT area.

Weekend ski trip

Some friends and I stayed here for the weekend to ski smugglers notch, everything at the property was well kept and clean. Great place for friends or family to get out and enjoy each others company. And the owners were extremely pleasant to deal with. 11/10 great experience especially for the price.

The property is beautiful and close to the mountain which was great. House was beautiful inside and out and the fire pit was the icing on the smore! Hopefully we can book this again in the future!

Just what we needed

It's a beautiful property to stay in. Everhthi g was set up perfectly. The only thing we wished for for A/C. We lucked out that the weather wasn't too warm, but it would have been nice for the lower bedrooms, for sleeping.

Wonderful Chalet in the woods

Easy to find. Quiet, remote location, dog friendly. Very nice inside, well maintained, kitchen was well stocked for cooking there. Very comfortable place to stay. Heat worked well. About 2 miles from Smugglers' Notch Ski area. We hope to go back again!
