Cozy 2bdrm w/ Pond View - Best Location!

This cozy, pet- friendly 2 bdrm apt. is nestled in the woods just 6 miles from Stowe Mt. Resort and 4 miles from Stowe Village and its Historic Main St. The apt is rustic and private and has its own entrance separate from the 5 bdrm home that it is attached to (also available to rent). Sitting overlooking a pond and amidst the hills below Trapp Family Lodge, the apt offers a peaceful escape that feels worlds away yet is close to all in Stowe. The apt is bright and cheery yet cozy. It is a simple space with a bedroom and bathroom located on each level. Each bedroom has views of the pond below. The kitchen/dining area is small and overlooks the back deck and pond as well. It feels like a little escape nook with nothing extraneous and everything you need for an escape. The full apt is open for use and has a separate and private entry from the attached residence. Happy to help with any questions via the app or via mobile text/phone. The home is set off of a dirt road which has 8 total homes. You will pass by a few but will only be able to see 2 once inside the house. The 8 homes share the community pond but there is typically little activity on it... making it a very peaceful place to sit and watch the wildlife. The house is surrounded by woods on most sides and there is very little activity on the dirt road... it is a peaceful haven but located very close to all in Stowe. There is enough parking for 2 cars for the apt guests and the parking is first come first serve... no specific spaces.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful location, lots of outdoor space, and everything we needed for a couple and two dogs.

The lodging was lovely, the yard and outdoor area was beautiful overlooking the pond. There are lovely trails and nice places to walk the dogs. The kitchen was well appointed, and the common areas were very comfortable. The only drawback was the steep and shallow stairs to the upstairs. The rise to run is dangerously steep. I felt like I had to be super aware when going up or down. Otherwise, everything was lovely.

The small apartment is quirky and cute! It has everything you need and is in such an awesome location. It’s attached to a larger rental house, so you may hear the other folks and will see them in the backyard. The kitchen is fine for a quick snack but not set up to cook a meal. Courtney was responsive when the WiFi was out; it was fixed in a day. We had a great visit to Stowe!

Thanks for leaving such a thorough review, Wendy - its always helpful for potential guests to read prior guest's feedback. Although I'm not sure why you say the kitchen is not set up to cook a meal - the stove and counter space are smaller but there are pots and pans and cookie sheet and stove and oven and fridge... all the things needed to cook a meal - my son and I used to live in the apt so I assure you plenty of meals were made there, it is just a smaller space. I would love to hear why you think its not set up to cook so I could make sure other guests dont feel the same. We have had people come and cook Thanksgiving meals there! Thanks again for spending the time to review your stay, Courtney

1. Great location. Very convenient and easy to get to everything in Stowe.2. Host is very responsive and helpful. Gave us a great guide to Stowe.3. House was clean. Clean bedsheets and linens.4. Just that the AC in the upstairs room is a little noisy. Difficult to sleep with the AC on. We had to switch it off in the middle of the night so we could catch on some sleep.

Perfect place to stay for a wedding event at Von Trapp Resort. Only minutes away so we could come back and feed our dog dinner and let her out. Ideally located for all that Stowe has to offer! Very comfortable, well decorated and beautiful spot!

Communication was very efficient. Property was maintained and very nice!!!! Just a very few minor issues that we noticed. Being a connected rental and the door between being very thin, you could hear their dogs barking, the kids screaming, and then the adults talking. This could be an easy fix so both set of occupants could enjoy. We had to “rummage through things to find the kitchen towels (which were in the living room) and I didn’t feel like they had a lot of basics like most rentals have. One nicely laminated “instruction” sheet would be nice. The faucets for the shower was on such a tiny piece of paper that we didn’t even notice it until we left (two older people with not very good eye sight). There was a trick to getting warm water, so you will want to look for that piece of paper on the shelf in the bathroom if you want a warm shower. My husband had to stand on the bed to turn off the light for the ceiling fan at night. Both the light and fan were operated from the same switch. The ceiling fans were very, very dirty along with cobwebs in many of the walls. The location was nice and it met the basic needs, but we felt that some minor changes could really help.

Thanks so much for your very thorough feedback, Victoria. Sounds like some deep clean was in order after the lengthy Summer rental season and that has happened - also sounds like someone just pulled the cord on the ceiling fan - which I'll have the cleaning crew make sure is part of their checklist from now on. Im not sure why the towels would have been in the living room??? haha. Very helpful for you to mention these things though so I can hopefully get the cleaning/maintenance crew on the details.

Hello!

My name is Courtney, I’m a native Vermonter who left for 15 years of adventures in the West and came back to settle into my home state.

My little guy, Avery, and I live in Stowe, which we LOVE, and split time between there and our home in Taos, NM. Apparently we love our mountain towns.

I am a photographer who also owns a custom frame shop in Stowe - so you may see some fun local art in the space during your visit.

この宿泊施設のオーナーになった理由

The location of the house and its setting were one of the biggest draws for us when buying the home. It is nestled into the woods down a dirt road, sitting with a view of a pond below. We are only 6 miles from the ski resort and 1-3 miles from all of the amenities that the Stowe Mountain Road and Historic Village offer. You feel like you're worlds away from it all but you're just a hop skip and jump away from everything. On certain Summer evenings as well as NYE our dining room and deck area offers a front row seat to a seemingly private fireworks show that the Trapp Family Lodge puts on.... it's a very special treat.

この宿泊施設の特徴

Aside from the bucolic setting and great proximity to everything in the town of Stowe we love to host guests with pets. The apt is a fantastic spot for a getaway with close friends, family and 4 legged family members while on adventure to the town of Stowe. Sitting out on the deck in the Summer overlooking the pond is very special and NYE firework view from bed is pretty magical too!
