Beautiful bright daylight basement apartment in the elegant Laurelhurst historic James Dougan home. Built in 1922. Kitchenette, living room, queen bed + twin daybed... Walking distance to Hawthorne, Belmont, Burnside, hundreds of restaurants and shops. 10 mins to Downtown. 15 mins to Airport. "Absolutely recommend this place! One of my favorite places I've stayed, quiet & clean, great location, and the host is so sweet!"

This apartment is gorgeous, clean, and comfy, with contemporary and vintage tropical colonial style decor. Tons of natural light.

We are Superhosts with Airbnb and take great pride in providing a safe, comfortable, friendly, clean, beautiful experience to all our guests. We've hosted guests from around the world and never received a bad review. We know you'll love this apartment. We do live upstairs, but this is a separate apartment, secured from the rest of the house, with your own private entrance.

As you wish. We love meeting all of our guests, but give you all the privacy you want the rest of your trip. We always check in to make sure everything is comfortable and are a phone call/text away if you have any issues or concerns. Need cold medicine? We got ya covered.

The house is situated in a very safe neighborhood and there is plenty of street parking. Only a 3-min drive/10 min walk to shops, restaurants, supermarkets, and the Hawthorne District. The elegant Laurelhurst neighborhood is historic with 100+-year-old homes and wide tree-lined streets.

There is a bus stop on the corner of our lot, cars-to-go everywhere, Lyft/Uber, etc. We are close to everything Portland has to offer with very easy access.

Quiet hours from 10pm - 8am.
One of two basement apartments in large home. Private, separate, and secured from others. Like a duplex.
Rescue dogs, and cat, on property, secured in their own yard, may briefly bark from a distance.
Please be respectful and thoughtful of others. This is a family home and we live in the house. No smoking on the property.

Lovely suite for single travelers

This small suite is extremely well thought out and designed for a single traveler or couple visiting east Portland. It is very close to popular walking streets, a lovely park and convenient to many restaurants, shops and boutiques. The neighborhood is beautiful and felt very safe. I was especially impressed by the owners' aesthetic with very tasteful decor, tilework and furnshings. The place is clean, warm and comfortable. I would gladly return in the future -- and I'm a picky traveler. Bravo on a job well-done!

Overall amazing stay at this cute apartment! Adorable style with the tiles, ceiling, wallpaper. Nicely curated interior design, great kitchenette, very spacious and great to relax on the sofa. Super comfy bed, sheets, and pillows. Spacious and relaxing shower and bathroom with nice fixtures. Fairly safe street parking and you can park close by the house. Easy commute to downtown with the comfort of a relaxed neighborhood. Easy keypad and feels very secure. Would love to stay again!

Clean & convenient for a quick trip!

The property feels like a mini hotel - it’s got a locked front entryway and a few suites inside with their own separate entrances! Our stay was easy, there was plenty of parking outside, and the suite was clean and cozy. It was a perfect spot only 5 minutes away from my sibling so I will definitely be back.

Hosts were great to work with

This isn't a review of a successful trip, rather one that went sideways. My wife brought home a flu bug for Spring Break (she teaches). We had to use our trip insurance for a refund. I then booked for Easter without checking with her (asleep), and needed to cancel that.Bridget, the host of this property was amazing and understanding. She worked with us to get a refund and help with glitches in the web interface. This turned our non-trip into a positive experience. Having a host that takes care of their customers is not given enough attention, Bridget did a great job!

Great Host, location, very clean!

The rental property was easily accessible, well lit outside and inside. I always felt safe. Very comfortable bed and very pleasant rooms. Would definitely stay there again!

Great location

Property was clean and had everything I needed for a short stay. Close to beautiful park and the neighborhood is beautiful and walkable. Owners live on property and were very responsive to my needs. I would stay again!

Be honest about listing

Overall an ok experience. Very cute space. Negatives were it was not that comfortable. Seating just a couch and some oddly gigantic bar stools. No table to sit at. Things missing that would be obvious adds if you actually lived there. Side table needed in bathroom. More towel hangers. More towels should be provided. There was one hand towel for two people and a three night stay. (Plus two bath towels and two wash cloths. Main issue was no air conditioning. Portland was hot and there was no air conditioning or air circulation of any kind, even though it was apparent there was an ac unit in the house above this basement unit. There was an Air vent into our unit but it was dead air. We had no response from the host about this problem.

Toucan Room

Great stay! Very clean. Quiet at night. A tad noisy in the morning but nothing can be done due to its location. We left to explore during the morning so it didn’t matter at all to us. Thank you for hosting us! Would definitely stay again.

Great location, greater property.

Had a great two night stay in Portland and this Laurelhurst location was fantastic. Hosts were easy to communicate with and the newly renovated accommodations were perfect for our needs. Would stay again, no question.

Location, Location, Location!

Very comfortable and well-appointed studio apartment. We love to stay in the Laurelhurst neighborhood and this location is walking distance to a lovely park, a convenient bus line and restaurants & shops. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating.
