Thanksgiving substitute home
We chose this VRBO to accommodate our 5 children flying in for the Thanksgiving holiday week from Louisiana and Texas. We are currently under a whole house renovation that unfortunately was not completed in time. We were looking for plenty of space to play games, relax, visit and a good kitchen to cook food all week.
Positives: Communication with the property manager was great and we were offered early check in. The home was very clean and true to pictures posted. Normal wear and tear (carpet stains; wall scuff marks) were noticed but not terrible. Mattresses, pillows and bedding were good.
Negatives: We had to pay extra guest fees but the amount of linens and kitchen supplies did not accommodate those extra guest. The kitchen was not well supplied with everything you’d need to cook large meals. No kitchen dish towels or downstairs hand towels in the half bath were provided. I made several trips to my home to gather kitchen supplies needed for the week. Inconvenient if I lived out of town. Had the suite but found that the dryer would not heat up to dry clothing and kitchenette had no utensils, plates, cups etc. The “game room” had a small, very worn, combo air hockey/pool table but the pool table was not usable (no pool balls or sticks provided). The couches in this home were very poor quality and not comfortable for long stays.
All that said, nothing affected our stay overall. We had a great time visiting, playing games, eating and enjoying family.
