Rustic-chic cottage with fantastic lake access, 15 minutes to Ithaca

Beloved cabin-coverted-to-cottage perfectly set up for large groups with incomparable access to the lake.

The upstairs of the cottage has two bedrooms (double and single over double bunk bed), a full bathroom, a couch (the best nap spot ever) and futon, and wonderful lake views from its airy and bright open space. The downstairs has a more cabin feel with four bedrooms (queen, double, twin, and single over double bunk bed), kitchen, dining, sitting and living area with stone fireplace, along with a powder room, separate shower, and laundry room.

There is a porch perfect for buffet and drinks setup, a large deck for outdoor eating and enjoying the lake views, and a fire pit on the beach.

The cottage has excellent access to nearby amenities, including the Black Diamond Trail (1 mile), Taughannock State Park (2.5 miles), Cass Park (6 miles), the Boatyard Grille and downtown Ithaca (7 miles), Cornell University (9 miles) and Ithaca College (9 miles).

We have been on VRBO for a couple of seasons now for May-June rentals. We don’t have rental availability during the summer. Come enjoy our favorite spot and reach out with any questions!

Graduation gathering

This is a perfect place for a reunion! We realized the house was a “party house” when we saw the 2 fridges in the boathouse room and the sound/surround with speakers everywhere. But the best thing about this house was the feeling of family. The family left nice old family things which added to the feeling of the place.All ages from a 2 year old to a 75 year old enjoyed the home. we could park 5 cars for the graduation party. Very nice. We had evening campfires. Thank you for the nice wood. Also all the great water equipment which we enjoyed every day. It is a wonderful lake bunk house.

Great lakefront cottage

We rented the place for a mini reunion for 12 Cornell grads from the 90’sThe place is well equipped with plenty of bedrooms, a large deck and living space to accommodate everyone in the group. We enjoyed using the provided kayaks and the fire pit at night. The outdoor flat top grill was great for cooking meals for the group. Location 15 min away from Ithaca Commons and Cornell was ideal. I wouldn’t hesitate to rent the place again and is ideal for both adults and families.

The location was beautiful right on the water. Plenty of rooms for people to sleep. The firewood was great to have there ready to go as we did a bonfire every night. Would highly recommend!

Our group of college roommates had great fun staying in Ithaca once again for reunion at this terrific lakeside spot.

Great place on the lake!

We enjoyed the lake house! Bit of a quirky layout but we are most of our meals on the deck which was wonderful.

Perfect stay

Everything was perfect from checking in, communication with Hannah, ample amount of space to hang out and sleep, along with the amazing backyard on Lake Cayuga. I came here for my graduation from Cornell and wanted a lakehouse big enough for my family (~10), and Hannah's house afforded us the perfect weekend. We grilled, had smores from the fire pit, kayaked, and even docked our pontoon rental on the dock. Looking forward to returning here on my next visit to Ithaca!

Well equipped home on beautiful Lake Cayuga near Ithaca.

We enjoyed the kayaks, the paddleboat, the fire pit, the grill, and the beautiful reflections of both dawn and sunset on the peaceful lake. The house accommodated our six adults and three children. Very homey and well equipped with supplies for needs and fun. Limited bathrooms, but they worked out.

Lakeside retreat.

Had a perfect weekend. Great house great views. The hosts were great, met us on time and went through everything. The house was equipped with all the items you needed. Close to hiking trails, wineries and falls. Would recommend staying here.

We are finger lakes natives who grew up coming to this cottage when it was our grandparents summer home. We are so grateful to now call it our own and share it with our friends and family.

This kind of access to the lake - less than 25 stairs from parking lot to beach - with a proper lawn and easy walk-in water access - is very difficult to find on the lake.

5 bedrooms with double beds, two bathrooms and two showers (downstairs has a powder room and separate shower) provide the infrastructure needed for larger groups.
