Adirondack Riverfront Retreat

A cozy, newly renovated cabin with rustic Adirondack charm located steps away from the Ausable River with a view of Whiteface Mountain. It features a beautiful living space with a fully equipped kitchen. Located just 12 miles from Whiteface Mt and 20 miles from Lake Placid.

We are often at our private home on the property, about 40ft from your cabin, and we're happy to help with anything that may arise. Otherwise, we're only a phone call away. Please enjoy your time here–we want to respect your privacy and enable you to enjoy the serenity. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions or check with us on our schedule.

The cabin is on a septic system. Please only flush human waste and TP (not paper towels, hygiene products, "flushable" wipes or other objects).
Windows that are river-facing (west) must be shut when you leave the cabin. Rain can come in without notice.

The Riverfront Retreat was the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and enjoying a trip to Lake Placid. We enjoyed the relaxing sounds of the river near by, the comfort of the cabin and the view of the mountains. The host was great to work with and answered pretty quickly to our messages. Definitely would recommend to others.

Scot was a fantastic host, the property was extremely peaceful, comfortable, and exactly what we wanted it to be for our stay. Our favorite part of our day was eating breakfast on the deck and walking down to the river to read by the peaceful river. Would strongly recommend a stay here.

A great Hideaway

A great place to get away from everything and just relax. Cozy, clean well supplied cabin with everything you may need. Far enough away to be secluded, but close enough to places to go and anything else you may need .

Great vacation

Wife and I had a fantastic time here! The property was very clean. The cabin was cozy and the amenities were fantastic for the space. The West Branch Ausable was high during our stay but we still managed to get some good fishing in, as well as plenty of relaxation.

Five Star Experience

From start to finish, everything about this trip was exceptional. The host, Scot, was amenable, checked in on me thoughtfully, respected my privacy, and communicated clearly throughout. The pictures were accurate, though they didn’t fully capture the beauty of the cabin or the surrounding creek. The cabin itself is lovely — perfect for one or two people. It was spotless (truly impressively clean), with easy-to-use appliances, and the view and atmosphere were incredibly comforting.What stood out most was how peaceful everything felt. The sound of the creek, the fresh air, and the cozy charm of the cabin created the perfect environment to unwind, recharge, and just be. It’s the kind of place that makes it easy to leave the noise of everyday life behind. I left feeling completely at peace and already can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

Great Cabin

We stayed for 2 nights and it was fantastic. Good idea to come with some groceries for sure. We brought a few meals with us and had a wonderful stay. The hiking is beautiful in the area also.

Super Cozy!

Amazing little cozy cabin! We had a great time! Very good selection of books, watched some scary movies and we ended up reading ghost stories of the Adirondacks. Excellent communication from our Host Scot from before we booked the trip up until out last night there. Very clean cabin! 10/10 I'd recommend:)

Snowshoe/Lake Placid Trip

It’s a quaint cabin in Jay, New York. Perfect stay if planning to do some traveling/adventuring. The cabin was very clean and the owner was very informative about the whole process. Be aware that there is not great cell reception in the area, but the owner provides wifi.

Beautiful clean and cozy.

Beautiful little lovers cabin. Everything you would need is there even know we always bring are own bathroom products and coffee it was there. Short drive to Whiteface and lake placid. We really enjoyed the cabin in the winter. We would definitely stay again.

Great Stay!

I love this spot on the river! The space is just as advertised and is perfect for 1-2 people. Scot is an excellent host and is easily contacted if you need anything. Nothing like a fire here watching the sunset!

Unplug and enjoy the beautiful scenery, meadows, mountains, water and woods from your river retreat. One of the only cabins on the west branch Ausable with direct, unobstructed views of the river from the porch and bedroom. This cabin is located approximately 80-feet from the world-famous Ausable River. A rustic blend of comfort and charm. Take a stroll on wooded dirt roads or walk to world class fly fishing. Enjoy the surrounding communities of Jay, Wilmington, and Lake Placid, which offer fine food, recreation, and beauty. The cabin was designed for Adirondack enjoyment from reading a good book to climbing the highest peak–and don't forget…fly fishing!

The cabin has a kitchen with everything you might need, including a toaster and microwave. Linens and towels are provided for your convenience. In-cabin bathroom includes a shower. Outdoor fire pit available just beyond a small deck overlooking the river. Enjoy your morning coffee walking along the bank of the beautiful Ausable River.
