Fiscalini Ranch Preserve is open and free for everyone to enjoy 365 days a year from sunrise to sunset.

The Fiscalini Ranch Preserve is an inviting, historic oceanfront sanctuary offering visitors a rare expanse of nature and solitude within walking distance of the California Central Coast village of Cambria. The Ranch features remarkable biological diversity with more than 150 different native plants and 430 birds, including some rare species. It is bordered on the north by a mile and a half of riparian habitat that encompasses tidal effect zones, seasonal freshwater marshes, and wetlands. The Monterey pine forest (one of five remaining native stands in the world) serves as habitat and cover for wildlife moving between the coastal range and the ocean bluffs.

The most outstanding natural feature of the preserve is the dramatic ocean bluff that runs more than a mile along the shoreline. The rocky coast rises to a 200-foot ridge with breath-taking views of migrating whales, birds, and playful otters before sloping southeastward to the willow-edged creek. Each spring, the meadows boast beautiful wildflower displays.

The Ranch offers a rare expanse of nature and solitude, almost a back-country experience, but within walking distance of inns, restaurants, shops, and neighborhoods. Featuring over eight miles of trails and regularly scheduled docent-led walks, the Ranch is free and open to the public every day from dawn until dusk. Beautiful home with space for all of us. So quiet and the views, wow incredible! We also enjoyed all the wildlife. So glad we were able to stay in this home.

Great stay in Cambria!

We had a great experience staying at the house! It was just as it was described in the listing and had beautiful views of the ocean. A perfect home base for our trip to the Central Coast! The kitchen was well-equipped with anything you need for cooking, which was a nice complement to restaurants in Cambria. Would definitely stay there again for future visits!

Epic views!

We absolutely LOVED this house! Beautiful craftsmanship and very comfortable beds and furniture. But the star is really the views. I lost hours of my day distracted by animals frolicking in the meadow next door and HUGE ocean views. Plenty of space for a group of all ages. We really hope to return!

My family visits Cambria at least twice per year, and this home is hands down the best we have ever reserved. It was truly the perfect place to stay...the location is great for easy walks to the ocean and Fiscallini Ranch; the house itself was clean, comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed to feel at home, not to mention it had absolutely beautiful views; and the owner was also very quick to respond with any questions. Truly, my whole family didn't want to leave and can't wait to stay again.

First VRBO that the pictures didn't do the house justice. This house was amazing with incredible views. Can't rate it high enough. We had 11 and easily fit in the open kitchen/Livingroom/sitting room, we could have comfortably seated 15. Very clean, very quiet, just beautiful.

Beautiful house, great location. Perfect for lounging and relaxing. Management company was responsive. Would stay again. Only nits were some ants in the kitchen and a complex TV/cable system. Detailed instructions how to operate and navigate the options would be nice. Overall, a great, relaxing stay.

Another Fantastic Stay

My husband and I have been coming to Cambria for nearly thirty years. We have stayed in multiple houses, and this one is the best, no exceptions. The house is large, luxurious and exceedingly well-maintained. It sits right on the edge of the nature preserve overlooking the ocean. We spent a total of nearly three weeks here and never had a single complaint. Tom, the manager, was great to work with. We did have a couple of questions. He responded so quickly and always seemed to be available.. We have now stayed in this house at least six times and we hope to return next year.

Ideal house and location.

I have stayed at and reviewed this house before - and found it so wonderful that I wanted to stay there again … to share it’s location and beauty with other friends. This is a beautiful, relaxed, quality home with lots of space and lovely, comfortable furnishings. It is also dog friendly, although it has no fenced yard. It does sit, however, on the perimeter of the Fiscalini Preserve with lots of walking trails. There are ocean views, several outdoor patios, a good quality outdoor grill and an enormous kitchen that is very well stocked. The neighborhood is charming, quiet and friendly. The property is immaculate. You simply cannot make a mistake renting this house. One proviso, it has steps and stairs - and is on a hill. Not ideal for people with limited mobility.

Great house for family gathering with lots of common space and a beautiful view. The check in and out process was as good as it gets. The house seems like a private residence and there is very little of this 6000 sq foot house that isn't available to a short term renter. The level of trust is pretty unsurpassed and I appreciate the personal feel of the place. Everything works...! and that's different than most houses that I've rented over the years. All doors, windows, sinks, lights etc work they are supposed to. My only complaint would be regarding the bedroom setup. Realistically, this is a 4 bedroom house and one of the bedrooms has bunkbeds. There is a downstairs large "family or game room" that is a great common space and should have a bed but doesn't. Also one of the rooms on that bottom level is locked off from use by renters. As a place to gather, though, the main level family room is perfect. The kitchen is massive and open to this main room so for everyone gathering to hang out, cook, eat and enjoy the view, this house is an amazing environment. Great view obviously and you can hear the ocean. There are trails quite easily accessible and you could entertain yourself for days without leaving the neighborhood. One problem is the steepness of the driveway where a low riding car like a sports car could get high centered and even damaged. Not that big of a problem because you can simply park on the street. For normal cars, this shouldn't be an issue.

Family Reunion

We had a great family reunion with 6 adults, 4 kids and of course 2 dogs. The house was perfect for 3 generations, plenty of room for all. The location was fabulous with the beach about 2 blocks away (with a spectacular view from all rooms) and hiking in the Fiscallini Ranch Preserve. The house was 100% better than the pictures show. The bedrooms were large with comfortable beds. My grandson asked me if we had reserved it for next year. He is 11 so you know we had a great time! We will be back in 2023 for sure.

Our family group thoroughly enjoyed this spacious yet comfortable and dog friendly super sized beach house. The views of the preserve and ocean were great. The kitchen was beyond spacious. The house was very clean. We appreciated staying in a beach house that has been recently renovated with updated furnishings and decor. Highly recommend!
