This house has a modern vibe with 100 year old historic charm that people love. Enjoy it’s wide staircase, original hardwood floors, high ceilings, and incredible woodwork! Get ready in any of the three newly renovated and oversized family bathrooms! The luxury kitchen downstairs comes with concrete countertops, farm sink, butler’s kitchen, and copper drink station. Giant dining table seats 10 with elbow room! The third floor is a studio apartment abs another great place to hang out and watch movies, do laundry with the additional washer and dryer set, or prepare meals in the full kitchen! Enjoy coffee in the huge downstairs sunroom, or get work done in the upstairs sunroom! Kick back on the front porch or dine in style on the back deck! Walk two blocks to the Midtown Market for ANYTHING you forgot to pack or for a fresh smoothy. Walk 5 minutes or less to do arts and crafts, sushi, ice cream, chicken and waffles, Greek food, the public library, the Nelson Adkins museum, the post office, or enjoy some of KC’s hottest eateries, shopping, and nightlife that the Country Club Plaza or Westport has to offer! Wonderful VRBO

Highly recommend. The VRBO itself is stunning. We were greeted with welcoming music playing and great vibes. The building is so spacious and we had plenty of room. I can’t recommend it enough. We all had a great time in a great atmosphere!

Adult weekend getaway

Wonderful home for our adult weekend getaway. We gathered with 5 adult couples all coming together to celebrate a few of our 40th birthdays. The pictures on the listing were accurate, but the house still blew me away when we arrived. My husband said “oh my gosh this place is huge!” All 5 couples had a comfortable and beautiful room/bed. Bathrooms were plentiful and stocked with necessities and extras. The dining table fit 10 adults around comfortably. We loved having the wet bar space for making drinks and storing our drink items. We had space to cook, room to spread out and relax, but also space to all sit around together as a group. The home accommodated all our needs/wants and then some. Anyone curious about the location (let’s be honest, it can sometimes be a little sketchy downtown and around the area), we were pleasantly pleased. We felt safe and secure. Neighbors were fine, the street was quiet (Friday and Saturday stay.) We had 5 cars all parked safely down the back of the house and driveway. Nobody had to park on the street. We came and went a few different times via Uber and always felt comfortable standing outside waiting for our rides or being dropped back off later in the evening hours after dark. Communication with the host was quick and efficient and extremely helpful. I had questions and they were always answered promptly through the VRBO messaging feature. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Perfect for a large group!

Our stay here was AMAZING! Levi was so communicative and kind. He went above and beyond to ensure that we felt comfortable and welcomed! The home was clean, cozy, and such an awesome space for our group. I would recommend to anyone!

This Historic home truly is STUNNING. If you are looking for both character and comfort, this is THE house in Kansas City to reserve. Walking to the plaza - easy, walking to Westport - easy - catching a very short ride to downtown - easy. Kitchen and bathrooms and bedrooms all wonderful and the best is a large dining area where everyone in your party can gather at the same table! Plenty of off street parking for our party of 9. This house actually brought so much added joy to our gathering. Thank you for providing such a beautiful yet comfortable and FUN place for our party!

Girls Trip

Levi was a great host. He made sure we had everything we needed and more. Even left us a fridge stocked with beverages and a bottle of wine to celebrate! The house was in great shape for being over 100 years old. We had plenty of spaces to sleep and get ready. Loved this property!!

Great house for large group.

We had a girls weekend at this house. Great location and proximity to the plaza and power and light. Wonderful open layout for a large party. We will book again for future trips!

Wonderful Westport Property

I stayed at this property on a girls trip with my aunts and cousins. We had a wonderful time. The property is a 10 minute walk to the bars and restaurants in Westport. The property was clean and the property looked as advertised. The host was responsive when I sent him a text looking for extra garbage bags.

The Big Blue house was perfect

Before we took one step into the Big Blue house, Levi clearly explained how our experience would be more enjoyable by understanding the in-and-outs of the house. His details set us up for a super successful stay. The house is located in an old neighborhood, and made us feel like we were truly enjoying a friends house. The attention to detail of having more bed options available was great for guests to pick and choose a sleeping area. I highly recommend Big Blue to anyone interested in staying at a home that is has a perfect balanced of old aesthetics with a modern touch. Location, location, location. The location was nicely nestled between downtown and the Plaza, which made getting dinner and exploring the neighbors that much better. Phenomenal all around. Thanks for letting us stay at Big Blue! Excellent Experience!

It was even better than we imagined! We were blown away by the attention to detail, cleanliness, size and comfort of this home. It was the perfect place to host a bachelorette party. The hosts were responsive and provided all the info we needed up front for a seamless stay. I’d definitely stay here again :)

Beautiful, spacious house

We stayed here as part of a group of 5 teenage girls and their moms. It was a great house, with lots of space for people to gather in different areas. Really comfortable beds and pillows, and very helpful, responsive host.

Family Reunion

I cannot say enough good things about this property and the host. The place was perfect for our family reunion. We had three families in the house and there was plenty of space for all of us. The rest of the family would come over for dinners and to hang out. The front porch is great for morning coffee and also afternoon get togethers. The beds are all very comfortable and the large. The host is so responsive and helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay an absolute breeze. I would recommend this property based on the size and location. Is is so close to the city but is also in a nice neighborhood. Plenty of parking, basketball hoop kept the kids and adults busy.

Absolutely Perfect

My husband and I rented this house to host our immediate family for our small, intimate wedding. The house absolutely blew us away - it was even more spacious and beautiful than in the pictures, and everybody loved the original character throughout! Even though the house is large, it still had a cozy and charming feel and my grandma loved the warmth of the radiators once the temp dropped to 30 degrees outside. The location is wonderful, we were within 5 minutes of the Chapel we chose and close to so many options for food. There was plenty of parking outside and it was easy to get in and out of without too much traffic. Our hosts made the place very welcoming and had so many little touches that showed they care and love to share this beautiful property. They sent helpful check-in details and made us feel like we could reach out if there had been any issues. There were more amenities in this place than any other rental I've stayed in - an ice machine, an abundance of glassware and towels, pantry and fridge staples, throw blankets, and so much more! Every room was decorated with a mix of old and new style and it was the perfect place for everyone to get ready for our wedding and then relax and spend quality time together that evening. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and an amazing property. We'd definitely love to stay here again!
