Oceanview cottage has some of the most incredible views in coastal Maine. Wake up to see the sunrise over an ocean lighthouse with stunning hills from an island behind it. Enjoy time on the deck as you watch the sunset reflect off the ocean then welcome a sky full of stars next to the firepit. There is no direct access to water from porch however it's a simple 2 min walk up road to beach on your left, hang out with a view on our large ocean front deck. 3 min drive to brewery and restaurants! Huge yard and pet friendly. 4 min drive to Quoddy Head lighthouse!

Hello! It’s very important you know what our place is like! Please read this description, ask questions and look at our pictures! Our family of 5 loves this place and has enjoyed it every summer but there’s a few things to know - this is a very very old outdated Cottage with 1 large bedroom with 2 Queen beds Hotel style. Extra bonus nook small room w Twin bed best for a kid/teen. Living room has pull out full size bed. 2 TVs in house with AmazonFire you are welcome to log in to your streaming service or just watch dvds, electric fireplace and outdoor fire pit. Large ocean view deck! No direct access to water from porch - short 2 min walk up road on your left.

*Important* Our windows inside the house are very old and 2 of them (1 in hallway and 1 in living room will fill with misty foggy condensation throughout the day impacting the view from inside the property - we took photos and attached - we will hopefully get these windows replaced in near future but have lowered our price to reflect that). Still wonderful views from porch :) Our home does not have AC - but we provide the home with 4 portable fans as well as a remote ceiling fan in bedroom. The house can get warm! We are on direct sun light in the afternoon. We recommend enjoying the porch during this time as the breeze is amazing, but it’s important to know it does get warm! We have heaters - but typically don’t need them at all. If you’re looking for a place with everything modern and new - this is not it - however the view of the spark plug light house, the location (2 min walk to beach up road), 1 min drive to downtown and 4 min drive to west Quoddy head lighthouse makes our humble home very special! Lubec

The views from the deck were nice. Short walk down to the beach for a little beach combing for sea glass. Hiking in Cobscook with the dog was excellent. Trails in great shape. Campobello island was the highlight of our trip, the Roosevelt cottage and getting to Head Harbour Lighthouse was an adventure.

Great value

The owners were wonderful to communicate with. Hashim presented the condition of his home honestly, responded to our questions immediately and with a positive enthusiasm. The location is perfect. The beach is just a short walk away and the sunrises from the house (even from your bed!) or the beach are spectacular. Be sure to take your bikes; we were impressed with Lubec's parks that you can reach easily. The scenery and wildlife are breathtaking, don't forget your binoculars. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of towels. The whole house feels spacious.

House was uncomfortably hot

The property was not close to the water at all, as could be suggested by the listing. One would have to walk through someone else’s property to get there….which , of course, we wouldn’t do. There was a fire pit, but surrounding grass was tall, so no ocean view when seated there. Also, the house became EXTREMELY hot during the day. There are some windows that can be opened, but large windows near the deck and living room (central part of house , all day sun) cannot be opened. There was a screen door in this area, but had large holes in the screen and broken plastic on bottom. luckily our stay was short …. Deb B

Hi Deb! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, although it’s a constructive review here, I appreciate you sharing your experience. In the listing it does share that the beach is a short 2 minute walk up the road, so I’d say that’s very close to the water. Additionally, the photos from The listing with the ocean view are literal photos we took from the porch, so that’s the accurate view from property. Our listing is listed as ocean view and ocean can be seen from all areas listed. Perhaps oceanfront/beachfront access is the type of listing you’d like to look for in the future. Thank you for the feedback on the temperature- our listing does not have AC (you’ll notice that we don’t include that in our amenities)! We do have 4 working fans (2 standing, 2 ceiling) that I hope you utilized. Our living room hall windows will be replaced with opening windows this next season! We are excited to make that update. It’s unfortunate you didn’t reach out during your stay - I’m confident we could have resolved any issues and hope in the future you reach out to your hosts so we can take care of any concerns during your stay. Very Nice Trip

Lubec is a charming area with great geography. We appreciated the home being dog-friendly, since there are so many great hiking trails nearby.

Quaint seaside town

We had a wonderful stay while in Lubec! The location is a great base camp for exploring the coastline in the most north eastern part of the United States. The sunrises are as good as it gets. The deck is a great spot to enjoy nice weather, watch sunrises, and stargaze. Even though the medical center is across the street there is zero noise. The property was clean, tidy, and had everything we needed. Our two dogs had a blast, especially at low tide where they could run around like crazy at the beach just a two minute walk away, and on all the trails nearby. This wasn’t our first time in Lubec and it certainly won’t be our last. Would definitely stay here again.
