Charming Historic Mackinaw City Cottage

Beautiful remodeled cottage in the heart of Mackinaw City. Located downtown and only a stone throw from Main Street. The cottage is a short three block walk from the Ferry lines to Historic Mackinac Island. Listed as a home but the feel of a historic Up North Cottage. Plenty of space for family gatherings. The first floor has a full bathroom and a laundry room with a washer/dryer doubling as a half bath. Upstairs has two bedrooms, a bathroom and an open area with two twin built in beds and a sectional with a sofa sleeper. Great for the youngsters! Outside you will find a nice yard, great for watching summer Tuesday and Friday night fireworks!. This is a quiet neighborhood in a residential area.
Things to do locally: Downtown Mackinaw City where there is excellent shopping, food, breweries and indoor water parks among several other tourist adventures. Near is skiing, golfing, boating, beaches, parasailing, Casino, the Mackinac Bridge leading to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and last but not least the ferry lines providing transportation to Historic Mackinac Island.

Six friends (senior citizens) shared this charming home. This was my second stay. Very clean, well equipped and very convenient to the ferry, shopping and restaurants. Downstairs bedroom is nice for those who don’t navigate stairs well.

We used this rental as our base. Walked to ferry for Mackinac Island and quick drive to Pictured Rocks. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Delightful cottage

We very much enjoyed our stay at this cottage. It was immaculately clean and worked well for our party of 7. Close to the ferry and a short, pleasant walk to the beach. I would definitely like to visit again. To make this cottage even better, I would suggest the following: add mirrors to bedrooms; add lamps to bedrooms and sleeping areas ( I ended up buying a small one for the room that I slept in); finally, kitchen could have used a few more things to make cooking easier.

At first I did not think it was going to be that comfortable due to no central air and the upstairs being warm and cramped. Then I realized that its not hot there like in Indiana. It was nice to open the windows and have fresh air. The upstairs room are not made for tall people. The home is perfect for access to shops, restaurants, little grocery store, and the ferry. I would definitely recommend this home.

Wonderful getaway

We truly had a wonderful stay at this location for a few days trip to Mackinaw Island. The location of this home was the best decision as everything we wanted to visit was walkable. Central ave is a few blocks down which led to all the cute shops, restaurants and stores. This led us straight to Shepler’s ferry and we didn’t have to pay for parking which was great. We also bought our tickets the evening before on our walk. We found the best fish and chips restaurant, Scalawags, which we would highly recommend! The day trip to the Island was also perfect. The property was cute, quaint and clean and was comfortable for 6 of us. There are 2 sofa beds but I’m not one to trust sofa beds so we actually brought our own air mattress for the upstairs sitting area, which was fine. The table is expandable so we were able to sit 6 of us around it for meals in the kitchen and we brought the bench in from the side room for seating. The only thing is I wished there was more seating around the downstairs TV as well. Also, my husband always loves to do a load of laundry before leaving and he appreciated the cleanliness of the laundry room and appliances. Overall a wonderful and comfortable stay.

Great location

Centrally located and walking distance to the ferry and shopping. This was a big plus! We like our space when sleeping so the beds were a little small but otherwise it was good. Some nice updates to the property.

Great college reunion!!

Five sorority sisters from the 60's spent four fun filled days in this cute house. It is perfect for sightseeing in Mackinaw City as well as getting to the ferry to Mackinaw Island. The convenience was wonderful. The house was clean, equipped with all the kitchen utensils necessary and quite cozy. I would recommend a visit!!

A Hidden Gem in Mackinaw City

As soon as I viewed The Charming Historic Mackinaw City Cottage on vrbo I knew I wanted to stay there. The location was perfect for walking to the places we wanted to go including the historic sites, ferry, shops and restaurants. In the evening we took walks to see the Mackinaw Bridge lit up and stroll along the lake front. The furniture in the house was cozy and the kitchen was well equipped. The decorum made for a relaxing vacation atmosphere. I highly recommend this charming home.

Great Location, Comfy Stay

This house was so convenient for everything in Mackinaw. We could walk everywhere. We had a spacious, quiet stay in the center of it all. The house was clean and comfortable, it fit all of our needs and we felt cozy staying in the house as much as exploring. At first is was going to be our family of 5, and then my parents stayed with us. It easily fit all 7 of us with additional family coming over who traveled with us. We had a small snaffoo at checkin, but our host was immediately responsive, and even provided us with a giftcard in town to Mackinaw Bakery, which I recommend for great food and good service. Definitely worth your stay!

Charming Little Cottage!

This little cottage is so cute and impeccably clean! It is located in a nice neighborhood and is close to many attractions. We were able to walk to shops, restaurants, a beach, the Ferry to Mackinac Island and so much more! We will definitely stay again!
