The distance to the bathroom was far and which the major lighting over the sink did not work... and it was in the laundry room with no door.Host was helpful. HVAC not easy to adjust.Living room was good.Loved the lighting in the dining room. House was noisy with no carpeting.

Everything about our stay was great. Our host, Cherisse was very responsive to our questions and there was a very detailed house guide that provided us with everything we needed to know and also many recommendations for places to go nearby. We enjoyed having the bikes and beach chairs accessible to us so we didn't need to bring them from home. It was great to have the Sandy Hook beach parking pass as well. The house was actually larger than we expected and centrally located where we could walk or bike to the park, bagel shop, cafe and ice cream shop. The house was beautifully decorated and well maintained. The beds were very comfortable to sleep in and the water pressure in the showers was delightful. We enjoyed sitting in the yard and hearing the little stream passing through the edge of the yard. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house. It is close to the beach, a lovely local coffee shop and many great restaurants. The owners provide everything you need for a great beach vacation, even bicycles! House is also close to the ferry for a trip to NY. Communication is great and everything is as described. We can't wait to come back!

Awesome House, Awesome Host!

This beach house is nothing short of awesome! The location is perfect, very clean, it's very convenient to all of the beaches and restaurants, and venues. Our hosts Cherisse and Scott are awesome! They communicated with me with no problem and they are very accommodating. Will be booking again, thank you for everything!

Our stay at the Beach Lodge was excellent

This place served our needs perfectly! The hostess. Cherisse, could not have been more gracious and helpful. Well stay here again if we're ever in this area.

Fantastic

Everything you can want in a rental and more. The house is so comfortable and the extras are perfect (bikes, toys, Sandy Hook pass). We were here for a wedding so we did not use the kitchen much but it was well equipped. The Highlands neighborhood was fun to explore. Start the day with coffee at the Farmacie and take it from there. All in all a great Jersey shore vibe. Thanks to the hosts. If we ever come back to the area: this would be our top choice of place to stay.

We were looking an alternative location to visit NYC, and stumbled across this amazing house located in the Highlands of NJ. We were a short trip to two separate sea streak ferry ports, Sandy Hook, and charming restaurants. We got our Italian and bagel fix- while taking a ferry ride into NyC for two days. The house itself is so comfortable, with tons of small details that made our stay amazing. We will be back!

Great house and location

Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay here! The house is fully equipped - more than enough to prepare a gourmet meal! Washer and dryer were also very handy to have. We didn’t lack for anything, and the home was immaculate! Close by is a nice coffee shop and other conveniences. What a pleasant visit we had and we plan on returning again!

“Boho Beach Bungalow RETREAT”

We had a fantastic stay in the Highlands. Every bit of the home description (And More) is accurate. We have family in the area and love visiting the NJ shore. Cherisse was so easy to communicate with and even accommodated an unexpected early arrival. (Thank you again 🙏) The property is clean, quiet, comfortable and easy access to everything. Early morning walk to bakery, casual lunch down on the water and family beach time galore. We can’t wait to come back!! Thank you for a wonderful stay and so many great memories.

Amazing Retreat

Just what my partner and I were looking for in a relaxing beach getaway. Can’t speak highly enough of the hosts. The welcome guide was so helpful and their recommendations were perfect. They basically planned our trip and it couldn’t have been better. Loved the local charcuterie board setup at our arrival-highly recommend!

Fishing getaway

This house was perfect for our group of friends to stay while we enjoyed some Raritan Bay fishing. The driveway was long enough to park boat trailer and truck as well as another vehicle. The house has everything and is really cool. The town is great and the Proving Grounds is a nice place to grab dinner and drinks with live music.

First visit to the area

This was my first visit to the area. My son was accepted to the nearby university and my family was invited for a campus tour and other campus activities. I didn't know anything about the area, and I did not want to stay at a hotel. I previewed short-term rentals for several weeks and ran across Cherisse's listing. I contacted Cherisse before booking to ask some questions and she promptly responded. I booked the listing based upon her feedback. When my family arrived, the home was exactly as listed. My family was very pleased with the amount of space, the amenities and location. There was information in the home that provided suggestions for local restaurants, bakeries, beaches and parks. This really helped. Again, this was my first visit to the area. The home is well equipped with games, utensils/flatware/serving items/pots/pans and etc. There is really nothing you need to bring for a great long weekend or stay. While there, I had a few questions and Cherisse was very prompt in answering. My boys have accused me of being very "particular". I was very happy with the home and comfortable during our stay. My entire family had a wonderful time there and will reserve this home again.

Wonderful property and great communication with host. We were looking for a place to meet up with family who live in NYC, yet be away from NYC. It fit the bill perfectly. Would like to visit again in a warmer month to take advantage of the proximity to the beach.

Highlands has a nostalgic vibe and offers something for everyone. We are centrally located in the heart of town and it is easy to walk everywhere - beaches, bars, restaurants and shops and the ferry to NYC! Plus it’s a very dog friendly town. We hate fighting crowds and tourist traps so this had to be our spot. Take advantage of this slice of heaven before word gets out.

Bayshore Beach Lodge is an exceptional home - it's spotlessly clean and beautifully designed to give our guests' a 5 star stay & experience. Every room is spacious and airy yet warm and intimate. Our outdoor space is similarly roomy yet cozy with lots of places to hang out. We have unique, high end amenities like a record player and a gumball machine. The kitchen is stocked with everything from a crock pot to chip clips, to beer mugs and high end cooking spices. We offer sumptious bed linens, 6 bath & face towels, 6 beach chairs and 3 bikes!
