Potential for Noise: Due to the home’s historic character and close proximity to all the city has to offer, some road and city noise may be heard. White-noise machines are provided in each unit for your comfort.

The Neighborhood:

The Elliotborough/Cannonborough district of downtown Charleston. With its friendly neighbors, cozy restaurants, and tree lined streets, our neighborhood will immerse you in Charleston’s classic charm. This house is perfect for a family or group seeking a fun, culinary and cultural vacation. Popular dining spots in the neighborhood include Xiao Bao Biscuit, Fuel, Porchetta Shop, Southbound, R Kitchen, Chubby Fish and many more! Our guests and neighbors also rave about Welton's Tiny Bakeshop and Kudu Coffee. We recommend going to either for a cup of locally-roasted coffee or their delicious cookies and cakes. The house is only a short walk from the very popular King Street where you will find a multitude of great shops – including antique shops, book stores and fashion boutiques – as well as endless buzzing restaurants and bars.



Getting Around:

You can walk almost everywhere - but should you want to rest your feet, there are many other options for getting around: Uber, Lyft, Charleston Bike Taxi, Charleston Rickshaw, Green Taxi or Yellow Cab.



Other Things to Note:

Luggage storage offered Monday- Friday at our main office from 8:30am-5pm. On weekends we recommend utilizing Bounce Luggage storage. Please inquire once booking is complete for the address!

The unit itself was nice. The parking is a MAJOR problem. We were blocked in 2x by another car. We often had to park in the area a couple of blocks away, but it was completely full on occasion. Even when there were no other cars in the space by our unit, it is difficult to maneuver in and out. The owner was very responsive to requests. Some instructions about the TV would have been helpful. We were unable to access any AP channels, even when using our own sign ins. Would I stay here again? Probably not.

The host was very helpful and very interested in making sure our stay was the best. Even the parking spot for this unit was down the street in a bigger parking lot. The spot was included with the unit, so not having to pay for a spot was a good compromise. They had other units on the property parking on the property but it was easier to get in and out of the spot down the street. Thanks for your service.

Nice location/neighborhood. About a 20 minute walk to the Market/Downtown Charleston. Room was clean. Plenty of food options nearby.

The door had issues with locking properly and the showerhead leaked. Toilet needs to be inspected as it does not function regularly. A lot of weird quirks with this property.

Great Option for an Overnight Stay

My husband and I stayed in this little carriage house when we came to Charleston for an event at the Gaillard Center. It was very clean and comfortable.

Small but quaint and clean. Nice bathroom and comfortable bed. Chair and desk included. One parking spot. Close to restaurants. I would book here again.

Quaint place!

My husband and I were very pleased with our accommodations. Just what we needed.....small and quaint. Very quiet. The parking spot very close to the cottage was very good since parking in downtown Charleston is a premium. Our only complaint is there was no microwave and the mini frig was broken. However when I called about the frig a technician came out that day to look at it. Although it could not be fixed things happen! We were told a frig was available near by to use. Highly recommend for a couple!

Wonderful property

The Cottage was a perfect stay for us. Location is perfect if you like a little longer walks, but if not, Ubers are very easily accessible. The accommodations were everything we needed. The bed is firm just as a point of note. It was comfortable for us. It was a great stay and the hosts were very responsive!

Chuck town cottage

Nice up and coming neighbor. Unfortunately, not as close to the French Quarter as I expected. As an outsider. I wasn’t completely sure of the safety of the neighborhood. Fortunately I had a rental car. Would suggest at least a small couch or oversized chair to relax instead of just the bed.

When booking at The Inns of Charleston I read the reviews and noticed a lot of comments on the construction directly outside the home. My initial thought was that these people just wanted to find something negative to say. However, after our stay I see where these people are coming from. The house being worked on DIRECTLY outside of your door should definitely be included in the description of staying here, considering it’s been a brought-up topic for months. I definitely was not expecting to open our door at 7am and see 4 men conversing about the their work and lugging tools around. We had no issues with parking as the walk isn’t nearly as far as other reviews make it sound. It felt like a privilege to have a designated parking spot! Ultimately, the location was great, especially for the price and the inside was all that my fiancé and I needed. The bed was comfortable and the space was cute and cozy overall. If you are a light sleeper, or enjoy sleeping past 7am I would definitely recommend seeking a stay elsewhere though!
