Quiet, private and conveniently located, this spacious second-floor apartment is an ideal home base for visiting RIT or other Rochester-area colleges, business travel, extended stays, or a comfortable weekend in Rochester. Enjoy your own private entrance, dedicated parking, full kitchen, spacious bedroom, comfortable living area and free Wi-Fi, all in a peaceful residential setting just minutes from RIT and the Rochester airport.
The apartment features a large bedroom with an adjustable Craftmatic queen bed and generous closet space, a comfortable living room with a large-screen TV, and a fully equipped private kitchen with refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cookware and dining space. The updated bathroom includes a walk-in shower, towels, shampoo, soap and a hair dryer.
Guests especially appreciate how quiet and spacious the apartment feels while still being close to everything. RIT is approximately 5 minutes away, Roberts Wesleyan is about 9 minutes away, and Greater Rochester International Airport is approximately 10 minutes away. Afrer removing the linens from the bed there were chips under them by the feet. Spoons and plates were not washed but put back with anything clean. Bathroom had toothpaste stains from the recent guests, toilet was broke , had to keep fixing the flap in back on toilet. No hand towels were giving for kitchen or bathroom. Could be a very nice place.

This was extremely difficult to read and frankly not true. As with all our guests, we leave our phone number and ask to be notified of any issues. They happen to see me outside and I introduced myself and asked how everything was going and they were nothing but complimentary. He emailed me at midnight to say television was not working after an internet outtage and expected an immediate response. The toilet issue happened while they were there and he did not tell me until they left. Our other reviews speak for themselves.

Great Place to stay. Excellent Host.

Visiting granddaughter for college graduation. Very nice comfortable stay. Host left Breakfast foods and snacks. Very quiet neighborhood. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

I chose Jays place as it was convenient for RIT. The place was comfortable and spacious. Jay is a wonderful host, communication was prompt and helpful.

The place is interested close to Walmart and the airport

This property is ideal for RIT parents visiting students, or those who will be working for the week in the Rochester area. The apartment was clean and comfortable. The owners are nice and easy to reach if you need anything. I will definitely stay here again. It was perfect!

Excellent space

Was like being at home. Had our own parking space and were able to come and go as we pleased. Was quiet and comfortable. Having snacks and coffee available was very nice. Hosts were responsive. 100% would stay again.

Ideal Location for RIT

I stayed a week at this property and the location was perfect for visiting my son at RIT. Jay was very thoughtful by stocking snacks for me (he took requests!) to enjoy during the week. Comfy setup.

Okay

Overall this was an okay place to stay but there is room for improvement. Extremely convenient location and quiet. Enjoyed having my own entrance and parking. Be aware the apartment is only accessible by an outdoor wooden stairway. The place is pretty spacious except for the bathroom. I appreciated having space heaters and a fan available. Jay kindly took a request for breakfast items prior, and there were coffee and snacks on hand. Check in and check out was all done by text and I never saw Jay. They have a binder with house rules and detailed info though the check out time was not mentioned there. Shortly after I checked in, they texted to say that the cable and internet was out and the provider was working on a fix. The outage wasn't Jay's fault, but wifi still didn't work the next morning. After I texted for an update, Jay reset the router, which fixed it. Despite the thoughtful touches, other things took away from the experience: -The unit is described as new but it felt dated especially the kitchen -Lock on the unit entrance was visibly damaged and difficult to use -Bedroom door doesn't close all the way -Cobwebs visible on the lights over the breakfast bar and under the bedroom TV -Stains on the ceiling over the bed -lights under the bed are a nice touch but too bright for sleeping. Wish there was an on/off switch instead of reaching under the bed to unplug These are all pretty small issues that could be easily addressed for a better quality experience.

While I appreciate this review and any opportunity to improve, this guest had ample opportunity to point anything out while they were there. She messaged me at 0730 am on day #2 to tell me the Internet was still out after I had already told her the night before they were working on it and I would keep her posted with updates. This entire apartment was updated 4 years ago to the best we could do while being aware of budget conscientiousness. We are always working to improve our rental and we take pride in our guests experience. (Added a bathroom backsplash and electric fireplace in living room in past month). We are constantly looking at how to improve the apartment and put money back into it as often as possible. The lights under the bed have a timer and automatically shut off after 2 minutes. The bedroom door not closing had never been an issue before- If these were an issue, again this should have been communicated. The first text I send guests is asking them to communicate real time if any issues/concerns arise allowing us an opportunity to remedy issues real time. We will continue to do our best realizing there are some people who just can't be pleased!

The owners were so nice to let us extend our stay and checked on us from time to time. The bed is an adjustable bed and was very comfortable. The little kitchen was a plus, not having to worry about dinner, just stock the fridge and make dinner. Despite the airport being down the street didn't hear a thing and slept like a baby. Would definitely recommend staying here.

The owners were very nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Even tho there was an airport and rail road near by we hardly ever heard anything and the neighborhood was nice and quiet. There was shopping nearby and a lot of fun things to do around the area. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended our trip.
