Fantastic vacation spot

We’ve stayed at many 5* rental properties but this home far exceeded our expectations. Wish we could give it 10*. This historic home is beautifully decorated with many extras such as a large modern, fully equipped, gourmet kitchen, a library, and 3 different outdoor patios with a large gas powered BBQ grill. Beautiful views of Lake Ontario, nearby walking trails through the 1812 battle field and very close to museums, shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the Sunday concert in the park that is within easy walking distance. Highly recommend The Candlelight Guest House!

Amazing

This place was amazing. They thought of absolutely everything. I have never seen so many amenities at a rental property. They had wine, snacks, water, pop, fresh bakery items and even yogurt in the refrigerator! We were all blown away. Easy walk downtown to some shops and good restaurants. Would love to come back. The only complaint was the weather since it didn't allow us to enjoy the beautiful outdoor patios and gardens. These people obviously take a lot of pride in their home. Thanks for sharing with us!

Luxury with a Comfortable Feel

This beautiful home is convenient to everything in the 1000 Islands Region. About a block from the river, it borders on a battlefield memorial park which provides an interesting space to walk & learn. There are so many fascinating items, and convenient touches in& out of the house. The hosts were amazing with special treats & very quick communication! We All Loved It!!!

Amazing property with all the comforts of home!

Rob goes above and beyond to make this historic home welcoming and comfortable. It has everything you need and more. We loved the peace and quiet sitting out on the private patio in the evening. We did not expect to have snacks and beverages provided in the house for us. The home was spotless and so comfortable. We highly recommend Candlelight Guest House!

Great find...

This property is better than the photo in the listing! The owner Rob and manager Carol are very accessible and responsive. The multiple patios are well furnished with ample room to relax. The back patio is setup for outdoor eating and has a nice view of Lake Ontario. All 4 bedrooms are nicely furnished with comfortable beds and each bedroom has its own bathroom. The kitchen is nicely supplied and the outdoor grill was very clean and easy to use. So all 4 men really enjoyed our stay in Sackets Harbor...

A Late Summer Week at Sacket’s Harbor

Our group of six thoroughly enjoyed staying at this home. It was just as described, exceptionally well maintained, and equipped with everything we needed (and more). The kitchen was even set up with a collection of food and beverage items to get us going and enjoy throughout our stay. Combined with five straight days of absolutely perfect weather we will long remember relaxing on the patio areas enjoying the view and dramatic sunsets. There were great restaurants a short walk away, Watertown Shopping was a 10 minute drive away, and there were a variety of communities nearby that made for enjoyable day time excursions by car or bicycle. Traffic was light and easy. A perfect house, in an ideal location, for a quiet, relaxing, stress free vacation.

Best place to stay

Absolutely wonderful, clean, and very gracious on supplies to get you through your visit. Beautiful home, quiet and close to the water. So many tables outside to relax and enjoy all the lovely views. You definitely don’t want to pass this place over.

Unique and Exceptional Property

This property is phenomenal, the location is quiet with easy walkable access to historic sites and the quant downtown. Additionally, this location borders a pleasant historic park setting on the shoreline that offers walking trails and water views. The amount of work, effort and attention to detail put into this property by the owners is noticeable. Upon arrival the home was cool and comfortable, there was plenty of water and fresh fruit in the kitchen area. The kitchen is well appointed, bathrooms are spotless and the bedrooms are comfortable and restful. We totaled six family members. The large kitchen accommodated all of us as did the dining area for breakfast and dinner. This sitting room was a wonderful evening gathering conversation area and the accoutrements throughout the house offered many conversation starters and much to ponder. This property provided us a with very pleasant and memorable family retreat. We are very pleased.

Family Reunion

Beauty in every corner of the property which made us enjoy being together even more. One son from California and the other from Vermont caught up on what has been happening this past year. Joined my extended family in Henderson on Saturday (42 in all) for the annual reunion. The groceries provided by the host reduced our trips to the store and made us feel welcome. A perfect experience all around.

Absolutely Amazing - stunningly beautiful.

This property is outstanding and one of the most comfortable and well-appointed I have visited. The attention to detail and the level guest service is at the 5-star level. The location is nothing short of perfect and despite being close to everything, it is super peaceful and quiet. We will be returning guests for sure.

Gorgeous home on historic Sackets Harbo

The home was beautifully decorated the landscaping was ideal. We enjoyed the patio and outdoor grill as well. The home was clean and exceed our expectations with the additional amenities. We would recommend this property to everyone!

Beautiful Property

House is wonderful, host made you feel at home with quality coffee pods, top notch chocolates and pastries. House has a perfect layout for a few couples getting together, the 3 second floor bedrooms are good sized and all have private baths. A living room and second sitting room are great for conversation. Master suite on first floor is huge. New patio is sweet. AND you're in Sackets, right on battlefield. Owner did this one right. THANKS.

Gorgeous in every way.

An impeccable and gorgeous home that accommodated 3 generations of family members. The home was beautifully decorated, very clean and provided great living space both inside and out. An easy walk to restaurants and boutiques. It was a wonderful vacation and we would definitely return.

IDEAL!

Candlelight Inn was excellent. It is extremely clean; the bathrooms seem new and spotless. Every one of the rooms is spacious and comfortable. Beds are great. Rooms/doors are well-insulated, so the house was not noisy. Lots of windows in all the rooms. AC upstairs worked great. (Downstairs not quite as cool.) We have stayed in many rentals and this place was BY FAR the most crazily well-equipped kitchen I have EVER been in. (Standing mixer? Check. Coffee makers? Multiple -- plus espresso. Mandoline? Check. Whisk? Check. Get the idea? EVERYTHING.) Plus many additional thoughtful touches that made our arrival so welcoming. Bathrooms also have everything. Plus plenty of towels. LOTS of lounging space. Highlight might be the beauitful outdoor space, with multiple patio levels. If you want a streamlined minimalist aesthetc in your rental, this is probably not the place for you: it is very decorated -- colonial-ish. But clean and lovely. Clearly well cared-for. Quiet and peaceful. Walk to cute downtown. LOVED it.

Not enough positive adjectives to describe this rental!

I don't know where to begin when reviewing our stay at the Candlelight Guest House! Everything you could possibly hope for in a property is offered here and the owner has thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. Upon arrival, there was fresh fruit, bottled water, seltzer, candy, coffee (provided at the Keurig stations in the kitchen and upstairs hallway), etc. The 4 bedrooms are large and comfortable and the 4 bathrooms modern and perfectly appointed. The kitchen is a cook's dream and stocked with anything you could need. But, the real highlight was the selection of patios! There were at least 6 separate seating areas in the back of the house, around the front of the house and spanning the side. As truly wonderful as the house was, the real joy was meeting Rob, the property owner / manager. He couldn't have been more accommodating and even gave us a tour of another of his properties. It was an amazing 2 night / 3 day stay in beautiful Sacket's Harbor. We will definitely return and heartily recommend this VRBO to anyone looking to be pampered in the quiet and quaint village of Sacket's Harbor!
