Welcome to this charming one-bedroom, one-bathroom oceanfront condo at Durant Station (Unit #103) in Hatteras Island. You will love this home away from home. It's new to the rental market for 2021 and offers an excellent location in Hatteras.

Located in Durant Station, Gnarly Waves is on the first floor which means you're steps away from the large community oceanfront pool and hot tub, and the Atlantic Ocean. Inside the condo, you'll find all the modern luxuries of a beach vacation rental, plus linens and towels provided at your home.

Upon entering Gnarly Waves, you'll find a bedroom with a queen bed and semi-private bathroom. Continue along to enter the living area with a nice flat-panel TV, a well-equipped kitchen area, and ample seating. Included with this property is a stackable washer and dryer on site to optimize the open feel of the space.

Enjoy the ocean breeze from the living area or while you relax on the covered deck. Gnarly Waves has it all!

THINGS TO KNOW
This home has access to a community pool, the community pools in our area are typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Community pools are operated at the discretion of the community HOA so the availability schedule may be subject to change without notice.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina, LLC.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed.
Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Last minute Hatteras get-a-way

Condo was great, nice location right on the beach, beautiful views, easy access to ocean and clean. Didn’t use the hot tub or pool since it was April but they were both clean and looked nice. Everything was as describe would stay again.

Absolutely lovely. However the bed is hard as a rock! Bedroom needs blackout drape!

Will definitely rent here again - hopefully it will be a little warmer! I was not aware that North Carolina is still so cool in March but that’s on me!!

A beautiful view

The condo is a perfect size for a few people. The kitchen has everything you need if you choose to cook (except salt and pepper) But view and proximity to the beach was what I was there for. It was so relaxing. My friend had to work a bit and the wifi worked well for her. I would definitely visit again.

The condo was pretty clean . They need to clean the ceiling fans and the exhaust in the kitchen left black stuff on it.needs updating and new deck furniture. The liaction is great and the bed was comfortable . It was very convent to have a washer and dryer in the unit!

Very clean

It was clean and smelled good ..given it's a pet friendly unit. There's no closet space, but you do have a private wash/dryer( instead)!! Could use some heavy drapes in bedroom to block out light..and give a bit more privacy! All n all we enjoyed our condo! Robbin did a great job cleaning THANKS!!

Worst place to stay

I highly advise not to stay at this property. Not only was it dirty and disgusting, but the first 2 nights we couldn’t get to the island due to the weather shutting down travel as it was dangerous and roads washed out. The owner refused to give us a refund for the 2 nights. For cleanliness, the plates had food on them, pet hair was all over the floor, the bedspread looked like it hadn’t been washed. While we were there, a cleaning person punched in their code and just started to come in while we were in the room. Didn’t even knock. Best advice is to stay far from this place.

Great Place and Location

The community is great, it had a great view, and a short walk to the beach. Top if the dunes have a sitting area where you can watch the ocean. Condo was clean and we enjoyed having Directv. Also it's dog friendly but the walls are thick enough where you can barely hear anyone or their dogs. We thought it was cool the condo had a washer and dryer too. There was a few obstacles but nothing that would stop us from coming back. For some reason the fire alarm is super sensitive and the minute we walked in it wouldn't stop going off but management isn't hard to get a hold of. Luckily we put it in a different room and it stopped. Also the bed is a bit hard. It has a memory foam topper and I was fine on it but my boyfriends back was killing him so he slept on the couch. Other than that it was a nice condo and we will definitely be back

Great location, nice condo and facilities

We enjoyed a really nice week here. The condo was comfortable and well equipped with a nice balcony. Pool and hot tub are nice, and an easy walk to quiet beach. We would definitely consider renting again.

Great view, impeccably clean (thanks to the cleaning crew) Love the pool, hot tub & elevator. The bed needs a new mattress desperately! The washer was broken & the nice lady at the office basically said there was zero chance of getting it fixed during our 2 week vacation. Glad the building has a laundry room.

Durant Station is a great property

Gnarly wave was another terrific rental property. Over the course of about 15+ years, we have stayed at many different sized rooms across Durant Station. Keyless locks was a great addition to this property this year. Would have gotten 5-stars if it weren't for the following. No blackout curtains or shades in the bedroom. Outside porch light didn't work. No strainers in the bathroom sink-imagine dropping a ring or earring down the drain; bathtub did not have one either. No parking pass for the vehicles and this would not have been an issue had it not been for the towing warning in the email verbiage-despite Calling/leaving a voice message, texting and emailing the same message and concern to vacasa-we were not at ease to the prospect of waking up to a towed vehicle. Then on the first day, We got a message in the app that said the rental was ready, we got there and it was no where near ready, but we were able to unload our stuff and come back a few hours later. it was awkward cuz we didnt want to pressure our cleaning staff. The new management company probably has a few kinks to iron out and shoes to fill, but we are sure we will be back again and again.
