This well-maintained property offers beautiful ocean views and pleasing decor and furnishings. Enjoy relaxing in the great room with cathedral ceilings and an electric fireplace. Sample some delicious treats at the breakfast bar or enjoy a meal in the separate dining room.

Five comfortably restful bedrooms include a main suite with a king bed and Jacuzzi tub, four queens, and two doubles to choose from when you are ready to get a good night's sleep. When you've recharged your batteries, head outdoors to take a dip in the hot tub or enjoy access to Kinnakeet Shores pool and tennis when you need a break from the beach.

The outer banks are beautiful

This is a wonderful area and one can hear and see the ocean from the deck. Nice neighborhood and easy access to so many lovely villages. Plenty of dishes and pans etc. in the kitchen.

Best Vacation ever!!

I highly recommend this vacation home. Everything was so clean and tidy when we walked in. Plenty of towels and toilet paper. Loved the decks and the hot tub. Just a short walk to the beach. I went to sleep each night listening to the ocean. I will definitely stay here again. Spacious rooms. Everything was perfect. Very nice home.

Beautiful views.

The view from the porch was beautiful, not too close, not too far. Still got the cool breeze from the ocean. There is a public access straight across the driveway straight to the beach. The house is older so it’s not 100% perfect as expected but it is still very homey. The only way to fix what is wrong with the home is by updating and remodeling. Overall we had a wonderful stay, would come back again!

Great House & Location

We arrived to a very clean house, all beds already made, and the hot tub on and ready for use. Great location, beach access is directly across from the house. Four bedrooms on the first level would be great for family, with the master bedroom upstairs for parents or grandparents. We will rent this place again if we can.

Excellent stay

This is a lovely home, even nicer than the pictures. Very, very clean. Lots of space for everyone and just a few steps across the street to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked and the beds were comfortable. The view was beautiful - we enjoyed watching the sunrise over the ocean. The only issue we had was with mosquitos, so bug spray is a must.

Beach house Outer Banks

The location was fantastic. Beach access is directly across from the driveway making a trip to the beach with grandkids easy. The size of the house was perfect for 6 adults and 2 kids. We also had our dogs with us. Things that could be improved about the property are the cleanliness, kitchen supplies, and linen supplies. There were food containers and old socks found under our beds. There is black mold on 1 of the bathroom ceilings. The pots and pans were awful. I would suggest less of them and a little better quality. Everything sticks to the pans. The utensil drawers were overpacked with lots of useless items. I would weed much of that stuff out and just have a dozen or so essentials. We were disappointed that there were no beach chairs or beach towels in the house. We had to purchase these nearby. The listing stated linens were included which we assumed would include beach towels since it was a beach house. Be prepared to buy everything you need to cook, such as spices, condiments, etc. None of these were in the kitchen whem we arrived. There is a Food Lion near-by which is open 24 hours. Overall we had a good week. We would return to the same area in the future but would choose a different house the next time. We found a few roaches and spiders in the house so bring a can of Raid.

Ok, but could use some improvement.

This house is in a great location, with ocean access literally across the street and, during a tropical storm, it was the only house in the immediate area that didn't have a flooded driveway! Definitely a plus! Pretty well stocked kitchen of utensils and good coffee pot. Could use a better, updated collection of pots and pans, but there is enough there where you could get creative. The fridge has a water filter which is a plus. However, the house definitely needs some maintenance. Here are a few key issues: - The hot tub has a major leak meaning that it empties by about half every 24 hours, so it constantly needs refilled and takes about 2-3 hours to get back up to temperature. This was super disappointing after returning to the house after a day on the beach and not being able to use the hot tub because it doesn't remain filled. - A rain storm hit when we were there and the sliding glass doors on the top floor leak from both the top and bottom, leading to puddles on the floor and soaked drapes. The flooding was so bad that it led to a stain on the ceiling in the bedroom below.

The location was great. Decks and hot tub were good too. It might be time to replace some of the mattresses. There were not enough glasses for the capacity of 10 people. We bought some at food lion.

Great place to stay

This is our second time staying. Big enough for the whole family. Great access to the beach. Awesome view of the ocean with morning coffee. Overall, no complaints except kitchen cookware could stand to be updated. If you're trying to feed a large group, you have to use multiple frying pans. Otherwise plenty of dinnerware. Close to grocery store and pool/playground. Nice quiet neighborhood. Great for walking and/or biking. Will definitely come back again!

I enjoyed staying at The Knotty Whale because it was close to the beach and even though there were houses in front they were short and didn`t block the view. We stayed during off season (week of Thanksgiving) so the price was excellent and really like how the area has not been commercialized.
