Beachfront on the Dunes -- Fall Asleep to the Waves

With views in all directions, there's a feeling of floating over the sea. Directly on With views in all directions, there's a feeling of floating over the sea. Directly on the ocean, this home is newly remodeled, tastefully furnished and wonderfully airy. Top floor is a spacious open plan great room with chef's kitchen, wrap-around deck and working gas fireplace, all overlooking the sea.

The main bedroom with large bath and oceanfront deck is on the second floor. The second bedroom is actually two rooms and also opens to the deck. Bunk room can sleep five. The fourth bedroom is down one level with its own full bath.

Sand footpath over two dunes to the beach--the walk takes a minute or two. This at the southern end of Avon, with more views of dunes rather than of other houses.
Beach chairs and umbrella, boogie boards provided.
Outdoor shower.
Gas grill on top deck.

Roku TVs in every room, streamers provided.
Speedy wifi and dedicated work space in fourth bedroom.

Free access to large community pool in summer and tennis courts and Pickleball year-round, a few minutes away.

The house rents weekly from May into September, with Friday arrival and departure. The rest of the year, it's a 3-night minimum.

This was our second time spending the holidays at the beach front and it was amazing. Everything was excellent. The view from the deck is incredible. All the rooms were super clean. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked and just simply awesome.

The beach house well exceeded our expectations and provided a wonderful retreat for celebrating my wife's birthday. The southern location was private and quiet, but close enough to businesses to provide anything that we needed. Our hosts were very responsive and accommodated our request to extend our stay to take advantage of the superb weather. Overall, this property was one of the best rentals that we have experienced in any location. We plan to return again!

This is a quintessential beach house. Beautiful ocean views and an open comfortable living area. It would be hard to leave the deck, but the beach is right there to enjoy with a great supply of beach toys for the whole family. We will be going back soon.

Best in OBX for us

Well appointed home with towels, linens, and kitchen amenities. Living space was wonderful for cooking, eating, and playing games as a family. Views were excellent. We have been to OBX three times and this was the best, we would stay at this property again.

Great Family Spring Break Retreat

This was a perfect location with two families of 5 with children ranging from 18-9. Quiet enough to hear the waves all the time, but stores close enough to walk to. We had the beach to ourselves the whole week, and the weather could not have been better. Plenty of space and places to relax. Looking into coming back next spring!

Beautiful view and peaceful

The stay at this house was great, perfect size for our family. Even though about an hour from nags head there were still local shops/food and things to do. The dunes were a bit hard on my in laws to walk over to get to the beach but we took the opportunity to drive on the beach a block away a few times. The host was very responsive as well. Barely anyone on the beach and the town was very cute and felt safe. Highly recommend! Thank you Karl and Lucy!

Great OBX location

Great home in a great location. We really enjoyed our family stay in this home. House was clean, beds were comfortable, and kitchen was well equipped. Location was quiet and allowed us to explore everything from Corolla to Hatteras with reasonable drives. Communication with the host was quick and thorough. I would highly recommend the home.

Beautiful Views

My sister and I stayed at Beachfront on the Dunes and it was a fantastic vacation. The views were incredible. The house was very roomy and comfortable. It’s equipped with several TVs, books and plenty of games. I had to text the host with a question and he got back to me immediately. Choose this house for a 5 Star vacation experience.

A perfect beachside home. Fantastic location with wonderful views of the beach and ocean. The home is very well appointed with everything and more to make your stay comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook for a large group. We would happily stay here again.

Amazing beach house.

What a sweet place!

What a sweet place! Had a lot of activities planned, but hard to leave the beautiful front deck so mostly just stayed and enjoyed the ocean view!

A great beach house

Overall this was a great beach house. There were minor maintenance issues and beach access is challenging - while it is an oceanfront house the path over the dunes is a difficult climb, especially for toddlers and adults with knee issues. But it had everything we needed and was in a quiet area with beautiful views.We went out for dinner twice. The local Chinese restaurant was acceptable but unimpressive. Diamond Shoals in Buxton was expensive but well worth it.

Great house to disconnect

Great house and the views are spectacular. There are high dunes in order to access the beach, so if you have anyone with disabilities, it will be very hard for them to go down to the beach. Close to a Food Lion supermarket. The manager/owner was great and shared many options to go and visit. He responded promptly. Overall, great house to relax and disconnect.

Fabulous View & Location

The view is incredible! It was nice to wake up and hear the waves. Nice, large deck and furniture to sit on while you relax to the waves and view. Saw gorgeous sunrises as well as a moonrise one evening! Good location between Graveyard of the Atlantic museum and Cape Hatteras to the south and Nags Head and Kitty Hawk to the north. Owners were very responsive when we had questions. Highly recommended!

Great beach house!

Booking was super easy and communication was friendly. The house was clean, comfortable, well stocked with everything we needed, and conveniently close to the grocery store. The ocean along this particular stretch of beach would be a little rough for young kids to play in but was fine for our group of adults. We had a great time and look forward to a return trip.

Wonderful family beach trip

Amazing property and location! Saw dolphins from deck and walked the beach everyday. The location is perfect to get to Ocracoke island and visit the light houses. Kids had a great time and the house had all the beach equipment we needed. Hosts were responsive and helpful with a few small issues. We would love to stay here again!

Great Oceanfront Property

Truly as pictured. This Oceanfront location was perfect for our needs. Short and enjoyable walk to the beach on the path through the sand dunes. Sunrises, sunsets and stars at night all viewed from the deck. Responsive Host. Comfortable and clean inside environment. We would stay here again!

This is the first house we've ever owned, and we're delighted to share it. We're a beachy family who rent a beach house for almost every vacation, and know the magic of sun and salt air. There's no other place like the Outer Banks -- it's how you picture the beach you read about in books, but that seems to exist no where else.

For two decades, this house was that rare thing in Avon: a lovingly cared-for beachfront private home, never offered for rent. We have updated and furnished it to make the most of the open plan top floor, with an airy coastal aesthetic that says: Enjoy this. You're on vacation.

この宿泊施設の特徴

The house was built atop a hillock that places it in a realm of its own, on a street with only four other properties. The furnishings are new, the remodeling fresh. Even the kitchen is spacious. Reach the beach either from the ground floor, or by the wooden staircases that connect the decks with the beach walkway, by way of the outdoor shower.

A heads up that the path to the beach is entirely sand, and crosses two dunes -- which may be a challenge for those with mobility issues.
