Oh man, this place is amazing! We truly felt like we were staying at a spa or eco retreat. It's a gnarly drive to reach it, but so worth it. OUTSIDE: The property is gorgeous, with a nice balance of flowers, trees, shrubs and lawn. The view is amazing, whether it's of clouds settling into the hills below or the actual ocean in the distance. You're largely above it all. The trail to the waterfalls is a great little nature walk (a family of coati crossed our path) and the falls are beautiful. There's also a nice pool if you don't want to deal with the wild. We loved waking up with the birds and we easily spotted over 20 species during our stay. Toucans were regulars, but we also spied a Laughing Falcon and a Trogon among many others. INSIDE: The home is larger and more spacious than I expected. It's loft-like and a great example of rustic/modern fusion. The kitchen was open and perfect for cooking for the 4 of us. The beds were comfortable and extra secure with high-quality mosquito nets (though we didn't really need them, we see more mosquitos at home in Denver). THE EXTRAS: Maria welcomed us and provided fantastic on-site assistance. She did a small load of laundry for us and also gave us some fresh jackfruit to enjoy. We enjoyed going down to Domenical for breakfast at Cafe Mono Congo and dinner at Phat Noodle, and the beach a little further away at Domenicalito was perfect for the kids to explore and play. We spent 4 weeks in Costa Rica and this was our favorite place. When we come back, this place is first on our list.
