Holistic Hideaway

Perfect year-round Northern Michigan location for boaters, explorers, fishermen, snowmobilers, ice fishermen, or those looking for a cozy getaway. Mullet Lake is located across the street with swimming and boating access within one mile of the rental. North Central State Trail (61-mile trail which runs along the western shore of Mullet Lake) is well known for hiking, biking and snowmobiling and is located directly across the driveway with a path made for easy access.
Minutes to restaurants, breweries and wineries located in Cheboygan, Toppinabee and Indian River and shopping close by in Cheboygan, Gaylord and Petoskey. Mullet Lake Golf Course is a spectacular nine-hole course right down the road.
Year-round, private lower-level apartment offers one queen bedroom with an additional sleeping space which includes 2 twin beds, one full bathroom, full kitchen, dining area, family room and full laundry room. Pellet stove, cable and Wi-Fi.
4 car driveway, large enough for a boat or snowmobile trailer and a private entrance.
Owners live in area above apartment.

Great stay for the value

This property was great for us. We were mainly boating and the location was perfect in conjunction to the marina. It was nicely lit which made it easy to see at night on the street! It was great to have laundry (clean and big) and a dishwasher! Overall it was a great stay!

This is the perfect spot for us when we come to town to visit family. It’s always very clean and has everything we need for a comfortable stay.

Good for a short summer stay

Pros-very responsive property manager, good mattresses, private location, very very clean, accepts dogs Cons-one of the sleeping areas doesn’t have egress for fire, cold (pellet stove did not stay on despite being loaded. I don’t trust using them because if they are installed improperly they can cause CO poisoning), noise (you can hear the owners upstairs). Overall, good for a short stay in warm months. Not far from downtown Cheboygan and also not a bad commute to visit Mackinaw or Alpena.

Comfortable Stay

The property was as shown on the VRBO site. Looks like it was recently updated. Very comfortable and within 15 minutes of Indian River; 30 minutes to the Dark Sky park; 30 minutes to Petoskey. Although across from Mullet Lake, you cannot see the lake from the property due to vegetation, but this was not an issue for us. We noted that there is a beach just down the road. Host was responsive to messages via VRBO. They also left their cell number so we could text if any issues. We will definitely rent again when visiting family in Indian River.

Convenient location for Mackinac Island Ferries

Overall, nice space. This location is only a half hour from the ferries & one of the lower priced places in the area. The place is spacious & didn't feel like a lower level apt.because of the two sliders letting light in. Queen bed was fairly comfortable w/ extra pillows & blankets supplied if needed. The living room seating is not very comfortable, plenty of it but uncomfortable. The area could use an ottoman which may help.They had Netflix and Roku if you want it, TVs in the living area, each BR also has internet. I loved having the laundry area since we usually have to take advantage of laundromats when in campgrounds & the bathroom area was spacious & clean. Seating area outside w/ a firepit which we didn't utilize. You are on a main road so when sitting outside you get a lot of traffic noise but barely hear it in the apartment. Kitchen was adequate, some basic items there cookware, coffee pods, foil, some condiments. Plenty of spices, microwave & air fryer toaster oven. We are past hosts so may scrutinize places differently. The areas that a lot of hosts miss are cleaning the coffee makers & washers. Both coffeemakers were dirty (reservoir in keurig was slimy) & the front load washer seal was moldy. I cleaned the coffee maker but nothing to clean the washer. Also if a host could ask if guests are scent sensitive, had to remove a strong plugin air freshener which didn't appear to be hiding any odors. I had to use my own soap since all supplied were scented.

Great location

This VRBO was just as described! Plenty of room to relax and great accommodations for sleeping and getting ready! I was so looking forward to my two-night stay but a family emergency took me away before I was able to enjoy the second night. This was no reflection on my host, just unfortunate timing.

Awesome and pet friendly!

Great location with access to hiking/biking trail and boat launch just a couple miles away. We brought our boat, bikes and Burley for the dog. Ride to Topinabee was beautiful both by land and water. Rental was spacious, well appointed and spotless. Will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Very nice place to get away.

This lower level apartment is very clean. Two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with two twins, a separate laundry room and a bathroom with two sections: toilet and bath/shower separate from the sink. I loved the number of towel hangers! The queen bed is super comfy. There is lots of light coming through the sliding doors. The kitchen is equipped well. A nice surprise was a bottle of rose and a nice set of bar tools. The place is 15 min away from Cheboygan and across the street from Mullet Lake. It’s dog friendly as well. We enjoyed everything about the place. The only thing that could be better is the living room couch - uncomfortable to lounge on, probably because it is dated. Would stay here again if in the area!

We loved it.

We enjoyed our stay! Nicely furnished, comfortable, clean, well-stocked kitchen, great water pressure, comfy beds, and more. This place had everything we needed. We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine and lovely scent throughout which reminded me of our stays in upscale hotels. The location was a nice homebase for our daily excursions. We forgot our fan (for sleeping). That’s the only thing I can think of that would have been nice to find in the closet to save the day (night 😊).

We are conveniently located near Cheboygan, Mullett Lake, Indian River, Burt Lake, Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island, Petoskey and Gaylord. The perfect location to experience summer in Northern Michigan. Swimming, boating, golfing and hiking are all within one mile of the rental. Great food and fun with restaurants, live entertainment, wineries and breweries located nearby. Fall colors abound in this area and the "Tunnel of Trees" is a must-see scenic drive. Winter provides snowmobilers and ice fishermen with a winter wonderland.
