This is an animal rescue sanctuary founded by Laura Zwahlen in Liberty Hill, Texas. Laura has a huge soft spot for animals and moved from Silicon Valley to Texas, to open an equine rescue ranch.
The home, situated on 7 acres features an open floor plan with four bedrooms and four baths, brand new resort style private pool and spa, a wrap around porch with hammock swings and of course horses, goats, cats and pigs. A perfect setting for a family get together. An escape to heal the soul!

The space
Five minutes from downtown Liberty Hill and 15-20 mins from Leander and Cedar Park, this home is remote enough to feel like an escape from the craziness of life, but also close enough to major retailers and eateries to make your stay comfortable. Brand new updated master bath, foyer and guest bath! And most importantly…Brand new pool and spa with tanning ledge and waterfalls. Pool is fully outfitted, featuring Frontgate lounge chairs, teak and linen umbrellas (umbrellas available March-November) and fountains/bubblers.
The walls are covered in custom paintings of former foster animals who have gone on to their forever homes.
-Please note this home is suitable for up to 10 people maximum. This policy is unfortunately not flexible due to Home Owners Association Policies for short term rentals.
-Also note: Guest count on reservation must match number of people staying at the property as pricing is per person. We strictly enforce this policy as more people=more wear and tear on our home. Thank you in advance for understanding.
-Please be aware this property requires the rental agreement which will be sent via hellosign to be read and signed within 48 hours of booking. This ensures everyone is on the same page and the property is a great fit for the group. This 48 hour window also allows people to cancel penalty free if they feel they cannot comply with the property guidelines. There are animals onsite and thus, we take this very seriously for guest safety as well as the safety of our critters! Entry cannot be granted without an acknowledged and signed agreement. Originally founded as an equine rescue ranch, the farm is now the home to two barn cats, two pigs, two goats and two horses. All funds accrued from rentals aid the ongoing work and rehab of neglected animals in the state of Texas.
The home has everything a leisure or business traveler may need. Smart TV, wifi, fully operational kitchen, etc.
If you wish to have visitors to the property not on the reservation, you must first clear it with the host given there are animals onsite.. The total group size, INCLUDING those staying onsite, cannot exceed 10 people, including children.
Please note, a great deal of care has been taken to make this a special and healing place for our family, our animals and our guests. As such, we expect guests to treat the space as their own, with care and respect. No gatherings/events are allowed on this property.
-Please be aware this is a shoe free home. Shoes are not permitted inside the home to help those with allergies (including our own child) enjoy their stay. Shoes track in dust/dirt/allergens to those with asthma and or/allergies to animals. We have many repeat visitors that love animals but do have slight allergies and this policy helps them greatly! Also helps keep the rugs in great shape.
Guest access
Entire home. We ask that guests not open any of the animal enclosures or enter the barns on the property. These are all rescue animals and while they are very sweet, animals are unpredictable. While we do adore dogs, we do have cats onsite and other small livestock so please, no outside pets may be brought in. This is purely for our animals' safety.
Beds are as follows:

Bedroom 3= two twin beds
Bedroom 4=Queen
Extra twin memory foam mattress that can go in any bedroom or a queen airbed... as well as a crib that can be assembled. Please let us know if you need either of these items 72 hours in advance of arrival so we can have them ready as they require assembly.
When you book this reservation, you agree to the following information concerning the swimming pool and spa.
By swimming at the pool, I recognize and fully understand certain things, including my party's use of the pool facilities during my stay involves certain risks, including but not limited to:
- The risk of injury resulting from possible malfunction of the pool equipment;
- The risk of injuries resulting from tripping or falling over obstacles in the pool area; injuries resulting from consumption of alcohol
- The risk of injuries resulting from no lifeguard present during my stay
- the risk of other injuries resulting from participating in any action in the pool or near the pool
-There are surveillance cameras outdoors only on the property as part of the security system. Guest is aware there is a security camera that covers part of the pool area in addition to the driveway. This is purely for our home security and monitoring of our animals while guests are onsite.
-I recognize and fully understand that the above list is not a complete list of all possible risks; the list only provides examples of types of risks that I am assuming. In exchange for allowing me and my GROUP to utilize the pool and pool area during my stay , I hereby agree to the conditions below.
I fully intend and choose to give up the legal rights, as stated below:
1. TO WAIVE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, to include but not limited to bodily injury, that my GROUP may have in the future against the Owners relating to my use of the pool and pool area;
2. TO RELEASE THE OWNER from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury, expense, or other cost that I may suffer or that group may suffer in connection with my use of the pool or pool area to any cause whatsoever, INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE;
3. TO HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE RELEASEES from any and all liability to property, or personal injury to, any third party, resulting from the use of the pool or pool area
4. That I am over the age of 25 and that I am responsible for my GROUP and my GROUP will adhere to all the rules of the property;
5. That this Waiver, Release, and Agreement is fully effective and shall be effective and binding upon me, and my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and assigns, or anyone else authorized to act on my behalf or on behalf of my estate. I have read and understood this document. I am aware that by booking this Vacation Rental, I am waiving certain legal rights that I or my party may have against the Releasees, and I fully agree to do so.
When you book this listing, you agree to respect the following rules:
-Quiet Hours outdoors between 10PM and 8AM.
- Please NO shoes in the house. We have a child with severe asthma and this simple step helps keep him safe by keeping out allergens that track in on shoes
-No smoking on the property, outdoors or indoors. Any evidence of smoking will result in a 500 dollar fine.
-No food or drink in carpeted areas. All of the area rugs in the home are custom and all upstairs carpet is brand new. Large kitchen and dining area with tile to enjoy meals.
-No candles. Fireworks are not only illegal in Durham Park, but can cause injury to our animals and others. Any use of fireworks is strictly prohibited.
-Please input actual number of guests upon reserving the home. No more than 10 people are permitted. No exceptions to this. Thank you for understanding.
-If guests plan to have people over that are not on the rental agreement, host must approve prior and a waiver must be signed given there are animals onsite. HOA limits total number of people on any rental property to TEN. No exceptions, we are sorry.
-The red and white barn on the property is for the ranch hand only. Please do not enter it as sharp tools are present.
-Our wonderful Ranch Hands Luis and Jessica stop by to feed the animals once per day. They do not enter the home and will not interfere with your stay.
-POOL and SPA RULES: no children under 12 may use the pool or spa without an adult present.
-Proper swim attire is required to enter the pool and spa.
-Children who are not fully potty trained must use a swim diaper and any resulting impact or required drainage of the pool due to non compliance will result in the loss of the entire security deposit.
-Guest agrees to NOT put the pool furniture (chairs, umbrellas) into the pool water as it is not waterproof
-Guest agrees to turn off hot tub when not in use and every evening to help us preserve energy
-Guest agrees to close and tie pool umbrellas (if they were used, simply putting them back in the position you found them) each evening. The ranch gets quite windy and with that wind the umbrellas can be damaged if left open and even blow into the pool.
-Guest is aware there is no gate around this pool and children of all ages MUST be supervised.
-Guest agrees to be mindful of the hard wood flooring in the home. Any water tracked in from the pool will ruin the wood so please help us by drying off before entering the home and hanging the towels (do not put them on the floor)
