This cozy 2BD/1BA home is located both within minutes to the Shawnee National Forest and within walking distance of the Golconda Marina. It comes fully furnished with everything you need when you get back from your adventures in the forest or on the water.
The first bedroom has a comfortable queen bed and the second bedroom has 2 twin-sized beds. All bed linens, extra blankets, and towels are provided. 1 full bath has a tub/shower combo.
- The eat-in kitchen comes equipped with dishes, silverware & basic appliances like coffeemaker, toaster, & crockpot. Open to the common area, a tv hangs on the wall and wifi allows for streaming all of your favorite shows.
- There is a grill and space for outdoor dining as well.

Come stay and explore the area! Golconda is home to several great places to eat & numerous antique and gift shops in the downtown area. Horseback riding, hiking and cycling can be enjoyed throughout the local area. Golconda is located on the National Cross Country Bike Trail, the Ohio River Scenic Byway, the Trail of Tears National Historic Trail, and is the destination of the annual River-to-River Relay.

Great location for a stay!

We had a fantastic time during our stay! The location was ideal for us since we had family camping nearby in Shawnee, and it was close to everything we needed. The host was great! Incredibly nice and responsive! We would definitely stay here again!

Great little place if you are hiking in the area

Cute clean property with everything you need, enjoyed our stay. The only downside is the road street noise before midnight if you are a light sleeper bring a load fan or ear plugs.

Quilt Week

River Roost was great getaway for our visit to Paducah for Quilt Week. Adorable accommodations with everything we needed. Enjoyed dinner at several local restaurants.

We liked staying in Golconda, however, it seems like a forgotten city. We did enjoy walking the city and had a really great meal at Diver Down. It was also beautiful to walk along the Ohio River. The property was nice and had all we needed, however, it is shared with another unit and the walls are very thin. The couple we shared the walls with were very nice and thankfully not loud, but we could definitely hear them talking (not what they said, just voices). Overall, I would stay here again because we were out exploring more than we were at the property and it was a good location for us and had all we needed. The only other unfortunate part was that we did not get any check-in information prior to arriving and had a difficult time getting in touch with someone. Thankfully, a nice neighbor was outside and was able to get in touch with someone for us. It was a unique situation because it turned out the property manager was sick, but it did put a damper on things at first. All worked out and the property manager was very nice and apologetic.
