Welcome to Barefoot Bungalow! Located just steps away from beach access, come watch the sunset from the front porch of our charming home! Walk up the front stairs into our freshly updated second floor main living area, featuring an open floor plan with a light and airy living room, dining room, and kitchen. The kitchen has new quartz countertops and porcelain backsplash, and it is stocked with everything you need to cook a delicious meal. You will also find two comfortable bedrooms with queen beds and a full bathroom on this level. Down the stairs you will find a second living area perfect for children to have their own space! Games, movies, and books are available for your enjoyment! There are two more queen bedrooms, a kid’s room with two bunk beds with trundles (sleeps 6), and another full bathroom on this level. A full size washer and dryer are also located downstairs. Just outside the backdoor, you will find a covered back patio with a gas grill. Around the corner, the side yard is the perfect spot to relax and hang out under the string lights on the comfy adirondack chairs with your favorite beverage.

Ready for a day at the beach? Beach access is located right across the street. Beach chairs, sand toys, a kayak, a paddle board, and plenty of beach towels are available to make your day at the beach enjoyable! An outdoor shower is conveniently located on the side of the house when you return. And don’t miss the shops and restaurants on Mason Ave., they are only one block away.

We love Barefoot Bungalow! This was our 2nd stay in this house. The location can’t be beat - just 2 houses from the beach. Living spaces and bedrooms are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked, and the outdoor shower is great. There are also tons of beach chairs, towels, floats, and toys available. Property manager was very helpful and responsive. Highly recommend this property!

A perfect house for a Cape Charles vacation

We love Cape Charles and try to go for a week every summer--this is by far the best house we have had the opportunity to stay at. The location is amazing, the house is comfortable and incredibly well-stocked for everything you need on your vacation. Our search for the perfect house for our annual Cape Charles trip has officially ended--we can't wait to be back at Barefoot Bungalow next summer!

Great house, great location!

Barefoot Bungalow was perfect for our group of 11, ranging from 2 to 66 years old! The house was spotless, the kitchen had everything we needed, there were beach toys and towels galore, and we were just steps from the beach and a block from shopping. We loved hanging out on the front porch in the evenings and playing games in the side yard. Doug at Blue Heron was very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

Our favorite spot for family vacation

This is our second and you’re staying in this property and we plan to come back again next year! You can’t beat the space and the location. We come with our extended family and love the option for a big kids room with bunkbeds as well as rooms for all of the adults. Every amenity that we need is there including stuff for the beach! There is also ample parking, which can be hard to come by with other houses in Cape Charles. There’s even enough space for a boat! Our only complaint this year was that the floors were quite dirty when we got there. It seemed as though they had been swept, but not mopped. Our kids feet were black on the bottom after a couple of hours of playing indoors. However, that is a small thing that is easily overlooked with such a great house!

It is within walking distance to the town/ restaurants and was just a hop to the beach. We felt safe in the well loved neighborhood and a had lovely time exploring the town/ park. The beach at low tide was really a treat. We have two small kids that enjoyed seeing the creatures that hung out in the huge tide pools. We were glad that we opted for this house instead of one on Bay Road as the dunes are tall and would have mostly blocked our view anyway. The rental company was quick to respond to any questions and very professional.

Great Fall getaway!

The Barefoot Bungalow felt like a home away from home! Everything was clean and comfortable. My yellow lab loved being so close to the beach for our morning walks! The location is superb for exploring the Main Street of Cape Charles and walking through the historic neighborhoods. We will definitely return!

Great location, very quiet street with a short walk to downtown area and just across the street from the beach. Large front porch with lots of seating. Minor issues with fridge (ice maker) and lack of cable TV (Roku only). Great support from Doug at Heron Realty.

Wonderful Week at the Beach Bungalow!

Our family had an amazing time at the Bungalow! We were so close to the beach. The front porch was so relaxing. The neighbors even let us cut some of their rosemary for cooking. We enjoyed the house so much, we are considering returning next year.

Great location, a little overpriced

Location was great, close to beach and downtown. Weekly rate was considerably higher than nicer, more updated properties we have stayed in, particularly in Chincoteague. Three of the four bedrooms were super small, only one had a closet. Bathrooms definitely could use some updating. Probably will return to Cape Charles because of how calm the water is for children, but will look for a more updated property.

Awesome location and everything you need for the perfect vacation.

We have been coming to Cape Charles for years but never this close to the beach and it was perfect. Everything you need for the beach is provided, lots of chairs, floats, boogie board, kayak and paddle board not to mention at least 6 beach cruisers. The kitchen was stocked, the owners have thought of everything. The outside shower is so nice and the front porch for gathering at the end of the day, perfect. The kids room is incredible, lots of games and books and loads of room for kiddos. Beds were comfortable and we appreciated having two levels of bedrooms so grandmas could stay on main level as well as the two full bathrooms of good size. We had ages from 7-87 staying in the house and all enjoyed it so very much. Thank you Beachfront Bungalow!
