Tangerine Sunsets Tangelo is one of our fully equipped, 2-bedroom, 1 bath vacation properties with lots of amenities. This unit is centrally located in Montagu Villas, a tranquil gated community on Village Road, close to the beach, restaurants, stores, public transportation, and packed with standard Tangerine Sunsets services such as complimentary Netflix, free drinking water, coffee, tea and high speed internet.



There are 2 queen beds (one in each bedroom) and a quality sofa bed in the living room to comfortably accommodate 6 persons.



This home is tastefully furnished and fully equipped with all standard appliances, dishware, cookware, bedding and towels, along with an ironing board and hair dryer. A smart HD TV with complimentary Netflix, apps like YouTube are also included for your enjoyment.



The unit also has a washer and dryer, and dedicated workspace with a desktop computer for those looking to get some work done while traveling. This unit is accessed by stairs and is located on the second floor.

Perfect

Definitely worth the money. It was a nice little place. I definitely recommend renting a car to get around easier but the place itself was very nice.

"Clean and up to par-Awesome"

“Awesome”- I just returned from the Bahamas on 3/23/2015 and had a blast!!! Renting the Villa was the best decision that we made. Thanks to Duran and his team of professionals our stay was amazing! When we called about anything they were very responsive. Car service was arranged ahead of time and very prompt. The apartment is very nice. The area is very quiet and we felt safe! Looking forward to working with the staff at Tangerine Sunsets in the near future!

Great spot

I have to admit I was very impressed that the condo was very clean and looked even nicer than the pictures. That's a main concern for booking condos online. A great job was done with decor and furnishing it because everything was tasteful. I liked the fact that the entrance was private and everyone in the complex kept to themselves. The location of the condo is perfect near everything . Correspondence from the owner prior and during the trip was a pleasure. Your condo made my trip so relaxing and I will definitely recommend, and will come back and stay again. Thanks

Great Service

Shout out to the owner and Sunset Tangerine who took really good care of us, even calling after 1 day to make sure everything was going well. The service from the trusted transportation service recommended by Sunset tangerine and the owner was also outstanding. The beds were comfy even the sofa. The apartment is in a gated property so the fact that the neighborhood is a bit sketchy is not an issue but I would not recommend planning to walk to downtown (which we did). For 4 people, every ride on the island is minimum $20, whatever the distance so being close to downtown did not help.

We had a great experience staying here!

Our family of 3 wanted a two bedroom apt. place with a pool that was not near the high tourist area. This apt. is well situated on Village Road, within walking distance to the Bahamas Land Trust Park which was great for the tropical gardens and bird watching. Having a car is optional, you can catch a Jittney into town right on the road, the walk to the nearest beach is about 1 mile, although the road can be busy. There is a great Greek Restaurant near the beach too. For groceries a car would have been nice, but we walked to a nice shopping center with a great store and pharmacy. We did rent a car for 2 days, and it was nice to have. We used it to go to the National Park, which you really should have a car to visit. The folks looking after the apt. and its visitors are super nice and always reachable, I felt like we were in good hands even though we never meet but spoke on several occasions for help with a car and directions. This location was good for us in that we were away from the 'resorty' areas and saw great birds. We stayed in a hotel the last night of our Bahamas vacation near the airport, while nice, the birds were not as good. The phone, cable TV and Computer/internet were great, the washing machine/ dryer and kitchen were fine. Lots of room in the apt. and AC and overhead fans, so we were comfortable.

Budget minded

The unit was extremely clean and had efficient air conditioning as advertised. The TV only had about 5 channels to watch plus Netflix, not a big deal but disappointing that I wasn’t able to watch live news, but I guess that’s just me. The pool is visible from the unit, however, we were unable to utilize it as it wasn’t cleaned, it needed a serious vacuuming job done. Plus, the entire concrete surrounding the pool was black with mold and weeds growing through the cracks. There is rust everywhere, railings outside the pool, unit and stairs. It is an old and aging complex but for the price we paid, guess we received what we paid for. We felt absolutely safe, the unit had an old but working fridge and it had basic cookware. It’s for those on a budget like us, it isn’t a luxurious complex by any means, but it suffices for a comfortable stay. The complex is probably over 40 years old without any upgrades since. Seems the buildings have many permanent residents which is a good thing in a gated community. I would return again as a budget friendly stay in the Bahamas. Safe, efficient and a reasonable price.

Run Away from this Rental!! Terrible!

I visit Nassau with friends every year and have always had great luck with rentals however this unit was nothing like advertised! Location in unsavory section of the island. Not near a beach as stated. Pool and deck were covered in mold and had no chairs. Everything in unit was old and in disrepair. Had one wine glass. Kitchen sink leaked all over floor. Beds had only a sheet and nothing else. Have multiple photos of unit that show bad shape. As if all this wasn't bad enough, at 4:30am a rooster started crowing and didn't stop all morning. We had paid in full for 4 nights and stayed only 1 and owner refused to refund for days not stayed. We had to find another place and wasted a day of our vacation. Total mistake! Stay away! The other positive reviews must be friends! Also be sure to look at dates for reviews. The photos were definitely not taken recently. I have actual photos to prove the disrepair!

Please ignore this fake review. This person Sue M. has been trying to extort $120 from us and has promised to "make our lives miserable" if she doesn't get it. This has included submitting false/nasty reviews on every site we're on. Fortunately most sites have rejected her reviews or asked her to take out the profanity and malicious comments, so this is now her fifth (toned down) attempt. She's even had friends impersonate VRBO reps demanding money and threatening to delist us and really maligned our beautiful country. We've recorded the harassment and passed it onto VRBO's legal dept. I only wish I could somehow warn every home owner to beware of this person. It's unfortunate that HomeAway doesn't have a guest review system like Airbnb does. We've got 28 reviews (all 5 and 4 stars). This is the first "1 star" review, and we're happy it's not a real one. Worst experience ever

The property owner did not let us check in at 3 like stated in VRBO they said their check in time was 330 or I would need to pay an additional fee of $20. The AC in one of the rooms stopped working on day 2. The other AC in the living started leaking on day 2 and then stopped working on day 3 they did not fix it until day 5 and then it was still leaking. On day 5 the stove stopped working and they did not get it fixed during the remainder of our stay. They claimed it was getting fixed the same day then the next day and then made some excuse. When ultimately it seems they did not do their due diligence to have the property ready for guest. They did offer a butane burner stove as an alternative but these are not to be used indoors as they can cause carbon monoxide poisoning. I tried to get a partial reimbursement for the $207 I spent on food for my party of for 2 days and they were unresponsive to me and to the VRBO reps. I dropped my headphones behind one of the beds that had wood bottom and asked them to get them for me and they did not respond just keeps asking me what they looked like and to bare with them. We also were made to pay an additional 140 the day before check in due to my kids. They messaged me a lot during my stay claiming to want to make sure my stay was going well but ultimately took minimal to no action on issues that I brought up or to provide my reimbursement. I would not recommend staying here unless you’re okay with all of these issues.

Standard check in is at 3:30pm but unfortunately Vrbo doesn't allow us to list half hour periods.We do list the correct time many times however in our property description, pre-arrival form, and in the Door Code & Guide. The fees for early check in cover the extra costs incurred such as for the use of utilities (water & electricity, esp the AC). This service however is optional and subject to availability. Tangelo has a $20 extra person charge per guest per night starting on the 3rd guest but the unit was booked for 1 guest only, hence the additional charge. The AC in the living room leaked which happens when the AC temp is set at avery low temp. Guest was advised to turn it off and let it defrost which resolved the issue. After 4 days the stove & the AC stopped working. Gas delivery time was out of our control. Our agent however was able to deliver the portable stove and check the AC that same night - apparently the breaker tripped, was reset and the AC worked fine again. We had the unit checked multiple times for the headphones. We reached out to the guest when they were found conveniently hidden under the bed after a few weeks and shipped them. It is quite contradictory to say that our team was unresponsive while also claiming that we "messaged a lot" during the stay. We genuinely tried our best to make the guest's stay as comfortable as we can as this is our number one goal. We understand that we're not be able to please every guest, but it will always be our aim. - Maria

Fantastic Apartment

Clean Apartment, great value!-  So we did pick this apartment because it had a great price for what we needed, after checking many resorts and finding out about all their hidden resort fees, we decide to stay at this vrbo because the price was great and we were out almost all day every day. I believe you would likely want a car if running to the opposite side of the island, Cable Beach, where we did two resort day passes(see my Melia and Breezes reviews) We rented a car prior to our trip and were in downtown Nassau with ten minutes and on paradise island within seven. The apartment had everything we needed to make breakfast each morning (grocery nearby at bay shore shopping center..groceries, especially bacon expensive down there, as is most imported items, however we expected and planned a grocery budget) as well as very clean. There was a water cooler, which was nice! The master bedroom ( back bedroom) had a comfortable bed, but slightly noisy air conditioner, we turned off at night. It is an older unit, and could use some refreshing but if you just want to run all over the island and explore like we did, you can't go wrong. As mentioned everything we needed was there! Montagu beach, fort was about a ten minute walk and the closest beach. We enjoyed a Saturday night party with the locals here during their mini regatta! We also took a day pass with Sandy Toes yo Rose island...a must do! Our favorite beach of 4 we visited! great restaurants close by and just far enough from all the tourists. We even had great neighbors, who we never really heard. This is a second floor apartment, and aside from a dog barking for a few mins one night, it was extremely quiet. we never felt unsafe at all or like we were in a neighborhood. There is a bus stop right outside the gate, I can't comment as we didnt use. Overall we both said we could see ourselves staying here again and had great service when needing assistance with what direction to hold the gate key card. Thank you Duran.

Not our best experience

Unfortunately there was a terrible smell in the unit. I let management know and the response was 'let us know if it doesn't get better'.

Jill, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have the best eperience during your stay, we always want our guests to have a wonderful experience, that's our number one goal. Our team tried to get in touch with you when you reported the smell in the unit to get more information as to where the smell is coming from but we didn't hear back from you. Great communication with company. Good value for for Nassau. Quite neighborhood. Gated community. Home owner very helpful! Will rent from them again. Enjoyed our stay!

Great location and great hosts!

Duran and his team were wonderful even before I booked. They answered all my questions, walked me through all the steps and even had one of their reps - Bridgette stop by to see how we were doing. The condo itself was perfect for the four of us and gave us enough area to move around. We loved our stay.

In landestypischer Umgebung (laut und teilweise verwohnt) Für deutschen Standard nicht geeignet.

Die Angestellten waren sehr hilfsbereit, sogar ein neuer Drucker wurde installiert. Leider ist das Badezimmer noch nicht renoviert. Die Badewanne ist verrostet und aus der Brause kommt sehr wenig Wasser. Aufgequollene Bretter wurden überstrichen und Seifenschale wurde neu gekauft. Die Küche entspricht nicht dem deutschen Standard. Kühlkombination ist veraltet und man hört die Kühlung ständig. Eine zweite störende Lärmquelle sind die alten lauten landesüblichen Außenklimaanlagen, zumal einige Nachbarn diese die ganze Nacht laufen lassen. Zumindest die Umwälzpumpe des Außenpools schaltet sich um 22.00 Uhr ab. 24 Stunden bellen Hunde in der näheren Umgebung, die sich immer wieder gegenseitig hochschaukeln. Im Vergleich zu den sonstigen Hotelpreisen ist das Appartment sehr preiswert, aufgrund der vielen negativen Dinge im Umkreis der Anlage jedoch nicht zu empfehlen. Es ist bezeichnend, dass in der gesamten Beschreibung Bilder der Küche und des Badezimmers fehlen. Der Urlaub gefiel uns wegen des Erholungswertes der Bahamas insgesamt gut.

When you read all the stellar reviews on the Home Away website about “Tangelo” you can believe them. The apartment is spacious and clean, and to have dependable WiFi, a computer, a printer (with paper), a phone that provides free calls to the States, and a pool is a real plus. The manager team of Tangerine Sunsets was unbelievable in their customer service. We had no issues while we were there, but if we had, there is no doubt in our mind that they would have been taken care of right away. We had phone calls to check up on us before we arrived, during our stay, and the day we were leaving to make sure all was well, along with the phone numbers that were provided if we needed to call them. We joyfully recommend this property to anyone who wants a great apartment, with a great price and excellent customer service during their stay in Nassau.

Over and beyond/Felt like family

“Over and Beyond : Duran was more than amazing from beginning to end! I had so many questions and he was very responsive and treated us like we were family coming to visit for the week! I truly appreciate every question answered from you and the whole team. The place looks like the pics, nice and clean as well as very spacious!!! The driver that they connected me with also treated us like family and I called him to take us and pick us up everywhere we went!! Tell Norman he was awesome! We had an awesome spring break! The walk to the beach was only 10 minutes, wendy’s and Burger King was the opposite direction and about the same distance. My son is a basketball fanatic we found a basketball court no more than 5 minutes towards the beach behind the local school. This place was close to paradise island which was so very convenient! I truly appreciate you all and how easy you made our stay! I can’t say thank you enough!”
