Hike or drive to the apex of Bell Mountain, which overlooks Lake Chatuge below and provides picturesque mountain views. Shooting Creek Overlook is breathtaking. Visit Brasstown Bald, the highest point in Georgia, Jackrabbit Mountain and Chatuge Dam. Both Towns County (Hiawassee GA) and Clay County (Hayesville NC) have super parks and beaches, trailheads of the Appalachian Trail, which spans from Georgia to Maine, and are less than 10 miles from this home!

Adventure awaits! Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 5 minutes from the property. Fires Creek Recreation Area (25-minute drive) is another Western NC local favorite for hiking with picturesque views, swimming, and trout fishing. On the GA side, take a 30-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 45-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hungry and thirsty after a day of exploration? Visit the outstanding local restaurants, wineries, and breweries in and around downtown Hayesville and Hiawassee for not-to-be-missed tastes of local flavor.

Spacious master bedroom featuring a king-size bed, leather couch, TV, and large closet. Enjoy the en-suite bathroom with a soaking tub and walk-in shower accented with bamboo details.
Double doors open to the sunroom with a comfy couch and cozy fur papasan chair, all with excellent lake views.

Bedroom #2
Located on the opposite side of the home for added privacy. Includes two twin beds, closet, TV, and a plush bean bag chair.
A full bathroom with tub/shower combo is located directly across the hall.

Bedroom #3
Features a queen-size bed, closet, and private en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower.

Bedroom #4
Queen-size bed with a nicely sized closet.

All bedrooms include ceiling fans, extra blankets, and large windows with outstanding views.

Lake Chatuge is a TVA-managed lake, and water levels vary throughout the year.
Typically, there is no water under the dock from approximately September through May.
Please contact the host prior to booking if dock access is important for your stay, as availability depends on current lake levels.
