Very nice check in. The hotel is obviously old but has character and was extremely clean. Maybe time for new bedding but the bed itself was very comfortable. It did have a very strong smell of cleaning products but that's a good thing. I'd stay here again for sure.

Great location

I’ve stayed here twice now and it’s always a simple process. They have onsite parking, and then overflow parking if they run out of that. The location is central to everything downtown, and everything is always nice and clean in the building.

Convenient location to downtown .. rooms are dated but clean and simple .. only problem was the weekend traffic noise which isn’t the faultOf the hotel of course. I’d stay again but on other side of building .. it’s affordable way to see downtown Ashland area

The property owner supported the community through hurricane helene, providing rooms for people displaced by the storm and supporting his staff. A very caring and compassionate man

Old hotel, good location

We knew going into our stay that the hotel was old. But it was definitely older and more run down than I expected. The bedding and towels appeared clean thankfully, as well as the toilet and shower, but the room definitely needs to updating and upkeep (think dirty walls, cracked shower tiles, old gross carpet). The young lady that checked us in was very unfriendly and unwelcoming. But the older lady that was at the front desk the second day was very pleasant at least. The location was great to be able to walk to all the downtown shops. But there are a LOT of homeless people who hang out in the streets surrounding the hotel and they are not shy about asking for money when you walk by. Just things to keep in mind if you stay here.

Good location. Great price

Dated 5 story hotel, 3 blocks from the center of Asheville. We found it clean and in decent shape. Perfect for a week exploring The community and surrounding area. Pet friendly. Hope to stay here again on future visits.
