Enjoy the peaceful beauty of the lake and wildlife at The Last Resort Kipling Cottages. The updated fishing cabins provide the comforts of home with some vintage charm. Fun for all ages. We have hosted many multi-generation family gatherings. Fun in the sun with family and friends playing in the lake and end your day gathered around a bonfire. Our guests treasure making memories with their friends and family.

Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Centrally located In the UP on Lake Michigan (Little Bay de Noc) in Gladstone MI.

Great location for day trips. Your cottage is an hour or less drive to: Manistique, Munising, Marquette, Menominee, Iron Mountain, Fayette, Kitch-iti-kipi, Pictured Rocks, AuTrain, Eben Ice Caves, Hiawatha National Forest, Island Resort & Casino, Peninsula Point Lighthouse, Gladstone Beach, Van Cleve Park, Escanaba Beach, Ludington Park. Numerous golf courses, disc golf courses, hiking and biking trails, breweries, wineries.

Little Bay De Noc is the Walleye fishing capital of the world. Many major fishing tournaments are hosted here. Walleye, Northern Pike, Salmon, Bass, Trout, Perch, and numerous other species.

Excellent fishing location on Little Bay de Noc! Lauch and dock your boat. If you need a fishing guide, let us know and we can refer you to local guides. Fishing charters are available locally or you can fish from your boat or our dock. Launch and dock your boat here. Kayaks, paddle boats, canoe and life jackets provided.

Bait shops and public boat launch are only 1 - 1.3 miles away.

Clean, comfortable and fully furnished. Two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. All bedding and towels are provided. Just bring your food, drinks, and personal items. Call us if you have special needs, we will see what we can do.

There are steps into the cottage. Also, the kitchen and bathroom are small so not wheelchair accessible.

Available year round for fishing. Also kayaking, boating, swimming, ATVing, hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing.

We are pet friendly. Dogs are welcome. We just ask that you clean up after them and don't leave your pets unattended as a courtesy to other guests. Sorry, cannot allow cats or rabbits due to allergies.

Perfect little spot

We rented this cabin for a 4 day weekend so we could quickly get to Escanaba for my 7 year old to play hockey. It was perfect for our family of 4. We also thought it would be cool to access Little Bay De Noc easily for ice fishing. It was absolutely perfect for this. We caught walleye and perch just out front on the 2nd reef. We would definitely stay again and will be recommending our friends with small family’s as well.

Nice Cottages on LBDN

We enjoyed our time at The Last Resort on Little Bay de Noc in Kipling. Location is convenient for accessing the Bay directly from the property. Cottages are tidey, accurate to desription and we'll supplied. Owners are very responsive. We look forward to staying again! loforwarllllstayinagain!

Midweek Getaway

This is a cute little fishing cabin that served our goal of relaxing and being by the water. We would have liked to have a campfire but it was way too windy and raining at times. So, we spent most of the time inside playing games and watching tv.

Great UP get-away cabin!

Perfect cabin for weekend (or longer) getaway in the UP! Very clean cabin, nicely stocked with kitchen basics. Beautiful location right on Lake Michigan! Very easy to communicate with hosts and they were very quick to respond. Would definitely stay gere again and would recommend to others.

Perfect property for our family get together

We rented two adjacent cabins for 9 of us, my wife and I and our two young adult daughters and my brother in law and sister in law with their three young adult kids. Small cabins but were as advertised and very cozy and clean and nicely appointed - was just right for early morning coffee on the deck, some water sports, time together around the fire, family games, etc. and also quick to get to downtown Gladstone or escanaba. Super easy to work with the owner Stacy. Had a great time and we all want to come back next year.

Short family vacation

Very enjoyable stay. Everything we needed was provided. The property was great for young children. They played in the beach like area for hours. We found plenty of activities nearby. We talked about returning next year before we left. Stacy was great.

Boat and Dog Friendly

With a boat dock and launch close by and pet friendly it was perfect for us. Stacy and Carl were attentive to our needs and asked for minimal ajustment for our pets (we used our own blankets because our dogs sleep on the bed). They provided a couch cover for us and even left treats for the dogs as well as smore supplies for my son. While the bedrooms were small the overall space was fine for my family of 3 plus two puppies. TVs were located in the main room and one of the bedrooms. We had to have our own passwords for streaming sites but you could set it to auto log out of your sites at the end of your stay, which was nice. Just a day trip from Kitchi ti kipi and Lake Superior and a short drive (16 min) to Walmart or Meijer. The closer market was particularly expensive and limited so the slightly longer drive to Escabana was worth it. We took the boat out in the bay every day and kept some of the fish (Pike, Walleye, Perch and a Drum) Our hosts provide a fish cleaning station convenient to the dock. We use our own knives but there were several in the cabin we could have used if we did not. Stacy even offered to sharpen them if needed. Water is treated and safe but still country water so if you are sensitive you should plan on using bottled water. We didn't mind buying water for drinking since we normally don't drink tap water and we are municipal not well. Wonderful Stay, would recommend.

Cozy, clean, fun cottage on the lake!

We had a blast at the cabin on the lake! Everything was clean and ready for us to relax. Our dog loved being so close to the lake, too. A great place for family to spend time together and enjoy the beauty of the U.P.

Great little cabin!

We had a great time! Cabin was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Bedrooms are small but the beds were very comfortable! We will return next time we are in the area.

A great spot for a peaceful getaway!

This cottage was an awesome spot for a nice, serene trip to the U.P. The location on the water was a beautiful view and fun for kayaking! We were able to make several day trips from this location with ease. The kayaks, fire pit, and other amenities provided were great. If I had to make one recommendation to guests it would be that if you are used to city water consider bringing some of your own. It's clearly clean and safe for bathing, washing dishes, etc., but it was not as appealing for drinking. Grab some gallon jugs at one of the many nearby stores and enjoy your trip to this awesome spot! We would definitely stay here again.

Cute cottage and great location!

Very clean, easy to find, and great amenities at the property. We took the kayaks out for an evening paddle and watched a show on the Roku. Will go back again!

Cute cabin, much better than staying at a hotel. Stacy quickly answered/resolved any questions I had. I would definitely rent this cabin again. We did not use any of the water amenities as it was cloudy and cool. We did do a bit of cooking the five days we were there.

Carl & Stacy are the new owners of The Last Resort Kipling Cottages. We are both from Gladstone. We live in Escanaba. We have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. We fell in love with The Last Resort when we first saw it. We have renovated all three cottages and have plans to keep improving them as time allows. We are excited to be able to share our little cottages with guests traveling to the Upper Peninsula.

We love the UP. If you have questions about the local area, let us know. We would be happy to help. We want to help make your vacation enjoyable with memories to last a lifetime.

When you arrive, we hope you feel the same "peaceful, easy feeling" we do.

Your interaction with us will be up to you. Door code will be provided so you can check in any time after 3pm on the day of your arrival. We live nearby, so we can assist you via phone, text or stop by in person. Just let us know what you need. Some items are not kept on site because of limited space. If you need a highchair or pack n play, let us know ahead of time so we can have it there for your arrival.

Each cottage has it's own Spectrum WIFI so you have a strong connection, not sharing with other cottages.
