Excellent fishing location on Little Bay de Noc! Launch and dock your boat. If you need a fishing guide, let us know and we can refer you to local guides. Blade's and Bayshore bait shops are a mile away.

Enjoy the peaceful beauty of the lake and wildlife at The Last Resort Kipling Cottages. The updated fishing cabins provide the comforts of home with some vintage charm. Fun for all ages. We have hosted many multi-generation family gatherings. Fun in the sun with family and friends playing in the lake and end your day gathered around a bonfire. Our guests treasure memories made with their loved ones.

Relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Centrally located In the UP on Lake Michigan (Little Bay de Noc) in Gladstone MI.

Great location for day trips. Your cottage is an hour or less drive to: Manistique, Munising, Marquette, Menominee, Iron Mountain, Fayette, Kitch-iti-kipi, Pictured Rocks, AuTrain, Eben Ice Caves, Hiawatha National Forest, Island Resort & Casino, Peninsula Point Lighthouse, Gladstone Beach, Van Cleve Park, Escanaba Beach, Ludington Park. Numerous golf courses, disc golf courses, hiking and biking trails, breweries, wineries.

Little Bay De Noc is the Walleye fishing capital of the world. Many major fishing tournaments are hosted here. Walleye, Northern Pike, Salmon, Bass, Trout, Perch, and numerous other species.

Fishing charters are available locally or you can fish from your boat or our dock. Launch and dock your boat here. Kayaks, paddle boats, canoe and life jackets provided.

Bait shops and public boat launch are only 1 - 1.3 miles away.

Clean, comfortable and fully furnished. Two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. All bedding and towels are provided. Just bring your food, drinks, and personal items. Call us if you have special needs, we will see what we can do.

There are steps into the cottage. Also, the kitchen and bathroom are small so not wheelchair accessible.

Available year round for fishing. Also kayaking, boating, swimming, ATVing, hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice fishing.

We are pet friendly. Dogs are welcome. We just ask that you clean up after them and don't leave your pets unattended as a courtesy to other guests. Sorry, cannot allow cats or rabbits due to allergies.

Cute cabin! Very clean and had all kitchen amenities we needed. They kindly accommodated our dog and had outdoor grill and fire pit cooking options which made our stay very enjoyable.

My husband wanted to take me on a nice vacation for my Birthday, and we had a lot of fun staying in this cabin. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We had everything we needed. The sun coming up in the morning was beautiful and we also enjoyed the kayaks. Overall, we had an amazing stay and will return.

Great cabin for a getaway to explore the UP! We enjoyed kayaking and a paddle boat, along with a great fire pit and provided wood! The host was easy to contact for any questions and provided a great stay with all the amenities. We had hoped for better fishing, but our only catch was a 36 inch Northern right by the dock!

It was great, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!Everything was exactly as described, right on the water, and equipped with all the necessary amenities.The Wi-Fi was excellent, especially when phone reception was not at its best.It is a lovely little retreat, offering a countryside atmosphere while still being conveniently close to any essential services. There are numerous hiking trails in the vicinity and nearby, along with many activities available within a short distance of the cabin.

This beats staying in a hotel any day. The cabin was perfect, clean, and had everything available that you would need. We just needed to bring clothes and food. Stacy and Carl were wonderful hosts! We had a plumbing issue our first night but they were promt in their response to fix the issue. My kids had a blast with the kayaks and loved having a fire every night.

Great stay Memories made!

Traveling with 3 adults, 3 kids 1-13 and 2 dogs and we all fit. Cottage was very clean, air conditioner worked wonderfully and communication with the host was prompt. The kids loved the fishing, kayaks and paddle boats. The neighbors were great and very friendly. I highly recommend Van Cleve park and Gladstone beach if your traveling with kids. Even the neighborhood dog “Gus” was welcoming

Charming little cottage just a short distance from the water. We enjoyed a morning of kayaking and then checked out the local lighthouses. Exploring Escanaba was on our afternoon agenda. Great lttle town! Spent the evening at the cottage. The place offered us everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The front porch was a nice place to hang out before the sun set. The place was very clean and set up to meet all of our needs. Excellent communication with our hostess when I had questions. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

Fun Week!

We had a pretty good week considering the weather wasn’t the best. The cabin was small but it was all we needed! It was clean, well stocked, and right on the water! The only downside was the water was a bit shallow so it wasn’t ideal for our 20 ft deep V Ranger boat to get to the dock. It was also a bit of a struggle to find a place to put the trailer once we did get the boat in. However, the neighbors are quite nice and allowed us to use their area. Other than that, we had a great time and caught a few fish! It was also nice to meet Stacey in person as we don’t usually know who we are renting from!! Thanks again Stacey!

Beautiful!!!

The place is small but cozy! The area felt safe especially for the children. Stacy was so sweet and had great communication with us! We got to kayak for the first time that was so fun and the water there and the areas just so beautiful! The moon was huge and full. It was a pleasant view while sitting next to the bonfire!!! Will definitely be back!!!

PERFECT FOR OUR NEEDS

Some friends and I were on a motorcycle ride in the UP and this place fit our needs. It is on the smaller side, so I would no more than 2 couples. The lake is right there and we were able to enjoy our nights sitting outside, watching the wildlife.

Nasty Water

While the cottage was cute and clean, the water inside was nasty and rusty smelling! Shower was too small, kept bumping arms on walls. Couldn’t fish from the docks, too shallow lots of seaweed and reeds. Overall, is was a beautiful view everyday.

We had a fabulous time, highly recommend to anyone who loves the water and wants to relax.

The cabin was really nice, it had everything we needed. We were close to the water and got to fish, go kayaking and paddle-boating. We didn't want to leave, had a great time.

can't control the weather.

Wewould have liked to do more boating but instead we played tourist more than we usually do. Found some great restaurants, visited a dispensary for the first time. Checked the art scene (it's minimal) Our host Stacy was pleasant and responsive. We usually go to different places year to year but may have to re-think it.

Spent a long weekend in the fall. Needed place to stay, but spent most time hiking nearby sites. Size and price great for what we needed.

Carl & Stacy are the new owners of The Last Resort Kipling Cottages. We are both from Gladstone. We live in Escanaba. We have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. We fell in love with The Last Resort last year when we first saw it. We have renovated all three cottages and have plans to keep improving them as time allows. We are excited to be able to share our little cottages with guests traveling to the Upper Peninsula.

We love the beauty of the UP. If you have questions about the local area, let us know. We would be happy to help. We want to help make your vacation enjoyable with memories to last a lifetime.

When you arrive, we hope you feel the same "peaceful, easy feeling" we do.

Your interaction with us will be up to you. Door code will be provided so you can check in any time after 3pm on the day of your arrival. We live nearby, so we can assist you via phone, text or stop by in person. Just let us know what you need. Some items are not kept on site because of limited space. If you need a highchair or pack n play, let us know ahead of time so we can have it there for your arrival.
