The Happy Heron is a clean, luxurious home located in the most desirable area of Surfside Beach. Near pier, restaurants, and attractions. Ocean and beach views from 3 covered porches Private pool and tons of square footage! 7BR, 5,5 BA and 2 seperate living areas! Can sleep up to 20 total people max (up to 14 adults max and 6 kids max) , House rental includes elevator, linens, house towels, and linens,. Home is loaded with many upgrades- granite, tile, vinyl plank flooring, stainless appliances, upper end furnishings to name a few and renovated in 2022! Added EV charging receptacle Nema 145-50R for electric car use during your stay 2024 !

This is the southern side of our newly renovated duplex and is called The Happy Heron. The northern side is named The Lazy Loon. Both sides have the same amenites including individual pools, elevators, table tennis, etc.

We are happy to offer our latest home for your vacation! Please look at our other listings to see all our past reviews on our other homes, and we know you will experience just as wonderful of a time at this freshly re-done home with a nice clean, relaxing feel. Our other homes on VRBO are number 335239, 412912, and 866526. We also have reviews shown on our website as well.3250 square feet, sleeps 20 with 7 bedrooms and 5 baths and 1 half baths. Has private pool (18' x 14' & 3' to 5' Deep) , elevator, and many more additional amenities. :)

This homes calendar runs a weekly 7 day rental of Saturday to Saturday during peak summer season. (ie June- August)

Arrival time is 4:00 PM and checkout time is 10:00 AM.

When make booking request to us, we will email for some addiitional guest information of which we require repies to us at time of request, Reservations are created when payment is made on owner approved booking requests. We sometimes get multiple inquiries for same date ranges that we quote multiple people on the same day. A quote does not equal a reservation or dates held until paid and approved.

In order to book our home you must read over the required Rental Agreement we will provide after acceptance, complete all required information, and return with drivers license verifying your agreement to the stated terms that they are acceptable and will be followed. Please notify us if have any questions on this.

We generally only allow family rentals with responsible adult over 30 years of age. We do not rent to individuals under 30 years of age. Any non family groups, and/ or people bringing motorcycles or trailers please contact us prior to requesting to book to get approval to reserve.

Great Space

Stayed with a group for a 4 day golf trip. House had fantastic space and amenities. Everything you need in a great location. Highly recommend!

Wonderful house with a great location for our family of 12!

We found this house to fit our needs perfectly. Everyone was happy with their sleeping arrangements and there was plenty of room for everyone to eat at the same time in the same room. The kitchen was wonderfully equipped with all we needed and the two refrigerators were very helpful. The location was very close to the beach access and the pool was terrific. The grill was large enough to cook hamburgers and hot dogs for all of us at one time which surprised us. We didn't expect it to be that large. My grandsons loved the room on the top floor with the captain bunks, king bed, large sofa, big tv and foosball table. All in all, we loved it and will look forward to staying there again next year.

Beautiful house-quick access to the beach, pier and restaurants. Kathy and Steve always checked in on us to make sure everything was perfect. Would not hesitate to rent again.

Amazing beach house for a large group

Perfect for 8 adults and 8 kids age 10-16. We had plenty of room for all 4 couples to have their own rooms and the couple w the youngest kids had a nice 2 bedroom suite w the jack and Jill to keep an eye on the younger 2. The top floor was perfect for the older boys and oldest teen girl in the small separate queen room up there. The kids had their own space up there to watch TV, play video games and the oldest teen boy loved reading on the balcony or listening to his podcasts while watching the waves. Kids did their own laundry up there w their washer and dryer set up and adults had the first floor washer/dryer set up to use. Never had to wait for someone else’s laundry to be done. Showers were great with good water pressure, plenty of hot water and drained quickly. The 2 fridges are a must with large groups, perfect amount of space for all 4 families. The 2 large tables allowed for us to play a few games and put a few puzzles together, up to 8 of us at a time for comfortably playing Mexican train. Kitchen is well stocked w supplies, made several large meals, breakfasts and lunches for all 16 people without a problem of room or needing a device or utensil. The pool area is phenomenal, great outside shower to get that sand off before jumping in the pool or heading inside. And the beach chairs were perfect, esp since I flew in. Plenty of room to park 3 large vehicles and 1 mid size. Easily walkable to Surfside Beach pier for ice cream and meals out. Short drive to mini golf. Host is great with communication and instructions are well laid out. This host has more rules outlined up front than others I’ve worked with, but I’ve found those are some of the best places to rent because the houses are well taken care of. You definitely want to stay here for your next beach vacation.

Perfection

Happy Heron has quickly become our favorite!! It has everything you could want or need for a relaxing vacation. The proximity to the beach is fantastic, and the pool is great too. This is our second year at Happy Heron, and we will for sure be back.

Great Spring Break 2023

I brought my teenage sons to the Happy Heron for their Spring Break and we had a wonderful stay. The home was very inviting with every amenity listed on the website and more! A very short walk to the beach and within a short drive to Myrtle Beach and Murrell's Inlet, both of which have lots of great restaurants and shopping areas. 100% would recommend to anyone considering a stay at Surfside Beach, SC.

Best family vacation ever

We have rented many vacation homes in the past. The Happy Heron was the best location for our family vacation. So close to everything. The house was perfect for our large family. Kathy and Steve called as soon as we arrived to make sure that everything was as we expected. Every room was filled with all the little things that made you feel right at home. They even updated us throughout the week on activities that were happening around us that we might like to attend. The kids cried when we had to leave. We can’t wait to stay here again. great location & home layout.

House is an ideal location. Easy access to beach, walking distance to shops, bars, restaurants. House was clean and layout worked perfect for our families. Communication was good and when issues arose the property manager was quick to respond. Only issue we had was a listing for a grill - only to find there was no grill for our use. Overall great vacation, home, & manager.

Annual Family Vacation

We are a family of 16, so finding a home within a reasonable budget is very hard to do, until now! This house exceeded our expectations. Having a place for all the adults to have their own rooms and the large room upstairs that could sleep 8 worked out great for the kids to have their own space with games and tv was the best we’ve ever found. The view Is great! The walk to the beach was very close. Lots of seating for family dinners. Each one of the families were very happy with this house and would love to return. It is well maintained and very clean. Owners were very quick to respond and have anything that we needed, taken care of promptly. Very nice people to rent from. We are all looking forward to returning next year.

Annual Beach Trip

If you are going to surfside and need....lots of rooms...right at the beach....with a pool....in walking distance to great restaurants....look no further! We have stayed on the beach in surside and garden city for years. This house, while not right on the beach, might as well be! You can see from the pictures the great balcony views (on three levels!) to the ocean. We rented chairs and umbrellas from a local vendor, so our walk to them from the house was about 2 minutes! You can easily go back and forth to the house from the beach, so you don't have to travel down with a bunch of stuff. The house is fantastic for large groups. The upper floor took care of 6 17/18 year old boys, the middle floor was the hang out area and took care of one couple, then the bottom floor is all bedrooms and easily took care of the rest of us. The pool is awesome for just lounging around and cooling off in the heat. The owners/hosts were very easy to communicate with and they have taken care of everything. We used the grill several times and cooked and the two fridges was a nice touch, so we had plenty of room for all of our drinks and food. Again, we've stayed many years in the area and this is one of our favorites for sure! Just book it, you won't regret it at all.

Spring Break Fun

Perfect beach house with an ocean view, for multiple families with children, and just steps away from the beach. Very spacious, clean and nicely decorated home, especially the bed and bath rooms. Plenty of room and privacy for our group. The elevator was very helpful for my 82 year old mother, and came in handy for luggage and groceries. Very convenient location right by all the cute Surfside restaurants and the town’s convenience store. The pool area was great! We grilled out one night and enjoyed a night swim. The kids loved to lay in the hammock and play ping pong. Of course the golf cart was a huge hit. Makes getting around super easy. We loved this area and the beach was so beautiful. The beach house had beach chairs to use and a nice outdoor shower to wash all the sand off. Ideal location for a relaxing weekend at the beach! We spent a lot of time on the balconies taking in the view. Fun photo opp. too. My mom would read everyday on the balcony and enjoy the sun. It was a peaceful trip with lots to do. We will definitely be back to visit. The hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed renting from them both. Again, it was a perfect week in the sun! And we definitely enjoyed relaxing in this amazing beach house! Thank you for helping make SB 2023 a very memorable one! We will definitely be back! Loved this beach house and location!!

Loved the Happy Heron

We had a great stay with our extended family for our son’s graduation from CCU. Perfect house in a perfect location. Can’t really say much more. Five stars for sure. Highly recommend the Happy Heron and all guests had a great time.

Beautiful home! The fourth floor was a hit with my grandchildren. The elevator even though it was slow and hard to get out of sometimes we figured that part out midweek that everyone wasn’t being patient enough before opening the door😊was very useful especially for my 93 year old dad. The golf cart was great to have to run to a restaurant or the gift shop and take my dad to the beach. The pool was definitely an added bonus.
